  • I just wanted to share a little info on the new BMW Motorrad Connected Ride Navigator as there isnt too much information available on the internet currently. I hope this goes some way to showing you what the unit is and what it looks like. You can also check out my next video on setting up here: • BMW Motorrad Connected...

    Thanks for sharing. Is there something similar to BaseCamp by Garmin (as previous Navigators) for trip planning with multiple wayspoints? May we still use our planned trip frm Basecamp? Thanks in advance for the answer

    Made out of Unobtanium according to the local and UK dealers I have contacted - however did you get your hands on one?

    Is it just a Garmin XT badged as BMW CONNECTED RIDE NAVIGATOR, like the Nav VI?

    A bunch of us on a Boxer Forum would like to know who makes this new device. Is it Tom Tom or Garmin? Could you please look at the box and maybe the warranty information to tell us please? Thank You!!

    When I import the route I made in Basecamp, it gives a "route not found" warning. Route plans with *.gpx extension do not work. Does anyone have any suggestions about this?
    The important thing in Navigator is to prepare our daily route plans in advance for long trips and upload them to the navigator.

    I have a Nav VI and the Connected Ride cradle but like many others got fed up and replaced both with a Garnin XT2. Aside from wonder wheel integration, I don't see other positives. I guess you dont need a phone to record a ride because this can do it, but then you need to pay extra for a SIM & plan?
    I'd pay $1100 for a BMW-integrated unit like this that offered Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but not this.

    Hi thx for sharing :)
    Do you know if the Navigator itself can take or make calls with a sim card and can the streaming apps be used autonomically without a phone or does it work comparable to Android Auto oder Apple Car Play? Thx so much from Germany

    • @Mr12v
      @Mr12v  9 місяців тому

      Hi, the simcard is used for data such as map updates, I think it also helps with live traffic. you cannot use streaming apps through it at this time, only through the phone which muct be connected. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for the unboxing, I'm assuming you sourced it in the UK? If so, where did you buy it from? I can't find it for sale anywhere.

    Thanks for the vid. Received mine yesterday and confused by the lack of information on why a SIM card is needed. I has assumed it would use the phone's data to update traffic information...
    Also, have you noticed that the bluetooth connection to your phone and intercom remains active for hours after the Navigator goes into standby mode (left in the bike's cradle - ignition off)? I think it's a bug...

      yes I agree! mine doesnt actually turn off as such when the bike does. Screen goes blank after 30 seconds but then turns back on and finally goes off when the power is cut. I think its maybe a software issue. I found the battery flat after it sat overnight and needed an initial charge up. It feels like these are still very early in development. hopefully there will be some software updates soon to fix it. I've found a few gremlins so far!. The Sim card appears to be for updates while on the road and hopefully traffic.

    Does anyone know if this will fit on the R1200RT LC? The measurements say its larger than the Nav 6 and I believe the Nav 6 is a tight fit in the aperture for the sat nav already

      If it’s the same fitment as a k1600- someone on a Facebook group got one and apparently it doesn’t fit

    Hey, do you experience poor / flat sound quality? I have the new navigator a few days, and I can clearly hear that sound quality is poor and flat compared to direct phone connection with cardo pack talk bold unit equipped with JBL. There is no difference if you are using iOS (iPhone 11) or Android device (S23 Ultra) I was testing as well JBL BT speaker and Marshall one and each time I can hear poor / flat sound when data is transferred thru new navigator. I'm wondering if you can confirm it. The thing is you can hear the voice commands pretty OK but if you want to use advantage of listening the music and you have good quality speakers in your helmet like JBL the sound is so flat and poor that the entire joy of it is killed. I'm wondering if it's a codec issue and may be improved by new updates or sound processing on hardware level which on premium devices like this should never happen.

    • @doolar
      @doolar 5 місяців тому

      Late reply - but I have the same experience with my CRN, Packtalk Edge with the upgraded JBL speakers. The sound quality is drastically worsened if I play it through the CRN instead of directly phone to helmet.

    This thing has been the most disappointing $900 purchase I've ever made for my GSA.
    The navigation map sucks.
    The motorcycle info is minimal at best.
    Required sim, or cell phone hot spot just adds complexity for no valued reason.
    Save your money and get a Garmin XT2 instead.
