Interesting video, thanks for posting. I'm thinking of replacing my Nav6. One questions, did you have to supply your own SIM card? Or did it come with the device? Any idea what kind of data you need for it? Thanks in advance.
Is this just aditional display like when you use your phone in cradle or this product have gps and does without sim and data like navigator 6+, in bmw app you can use same features like in this navigator and also copy gpx files to navigator 6+
It’s an additional display for GPS music phone and the connected ride side of things similar to the app on your phone. You don’t need a sim you can WiFi hotspot to your phone I showed how you can create routes on your phone and it will automatically show on the navigator
@@DC1008 , true that. I have found that the navigation in the TFT is iffy where cell reception is poor, even when I've downloaded all the maps. On my older K1600B, the Nav V never dropped anything since it connected to the satellites.
Navigator 6 is much better. The BMW navigator doesn't accept downloaded gpx files, streaming media is mono, not even an option for switching off route recalculation. There is not even a decent carrying case, as the navigator 6 has.
Doesn't do any more or less than a Nav 6 and mobile phone, so as I carry a mobile phone its un-necessary, no clearer or that much bigger by what I saw either? and it needs a sim card so more cost!
Don’t need to use a sim if you don’t want to you can Wi-Fi hotspot off your phone too it. I had a nav vi didn’t use it that much to be fair. If you haven’t got the nav vi I’d go for this over the cradle. I do like the fact that I can plan a ride on the connected app on my phone jump on the bike let everything connect automatically then using the nav select the ride I have just done on the app. The integration is good. Used it on a ride yesterday and a few quirks to iron out .
WARNING - Bought the brand new CRN unit two weeks ago, downloaded UK maps and put it on the bike. 5 mins later the whole system froze. I took it back to BMW who did a factory reset, we downloaded the maps together and fitted it to the bike together and 30 secs later the system completely froze again. They gave me a full refund. The new unit is obviously full of bugs - my advice would be dont buy one until they have properly re-written and tested the software.
A bunch of us on a Boxer Forum would like to know who makes this new device. Is it Tom Tom or Garmin? Could you please look at the box and maybe the warranty information to tell us please? Thank You!!
@@DC1008 i heard the screen goes nuts . So many people said just get the zumo xt instead . But I want the function of the wheel. BMW said NOV 1 will get the new Nav I guess for USA
Yeah I really like. I heard back from BMW basically you don’t connect your phone or helmet to the tft it’s all done through the NAV. Connectivity is good haven’t had an issue with the Bluetooth. The navigation is very good, and controlling the nav by the jog wheel is really easy. No complaints so far

Have you tried displaying GPX routes?
I am interested in how easy it is to create custom routes on the device and save them.

I had a spare sim in my iPad mini which I used, however you can use your phone as a wifi hotspot to the nav to get the live features

@@DC1008 thanks 👍🏻
I saw one being used and he went to Applications on the screen and it say Maps by Tom Tom.
I’ve looked I can’t see that so don’t know to be fair

Do you have hardware for mounting it on the bike? Or is that an additional purchase?
It’s came standard on my bike navigation preperation it was called
@@DC1008 , interesting. I have a 2023 K1600B and don’t know anything about navigation preparation.

It needs a sim card because rich people (not you Dragon) buy a mobile plan for every device they own.

BMW make it
@@boxfullofneutral8514 I found out it is not by Garmin but that Cyrus, with Tomtom maps on an Android OS platform.
The sales man in my BMW dealer told me yesterday that it was a Garmin XT2 ?
I think I’m going to agree with that statement, how can we find out the true answer?
