It is damn well in the manual. I learned this 10 years ago when I actually read the manual for my tiller.
Thank you for sharing this information. I was really struggling with this. Did not know to look at the wheels. Your absolutely right about this information not being in the manual. Thanks again for sharing
What the heck. I've owned mine for 6yrs and hated it. If I go out today and find out it was self propelled, Im gonna lose it. Thx you guys so much
You are now my hero. I did not know that about the wheels and been pushing it without moving the wheels in place. It's been killing my shoulders. I thought I had to be doing something wrong and this is the only video/article I have found that explained adjusting the wheels.
Oh my goodness!! Thank you a million times over!! All my questions are answered!! Mine is working like a dream now!!
I bought my new bronco this past spring. But it was jumping Everytime I was tilting. Now by watching your video finally figured out what was the problem.
I was tilting with free wheels. Not lock in place. Tomorrow I will try to use again. I was so disappointed when I first use it. Because I have a big horse tiller , than works great.
Thank you so much to show this step before you till the soil.
It is a life saver.

I inherited one of these from my Dad when he passed away. I am so glad you showed how to make the wheels move!! ❤
I love this lady! Bless her for trying to speak English. It's a hard language to learn. But she's Fantastic! A good person.
I just wanted to say that I really do think she's just amazing! Entertainment personified. She should totally have her own TV show. Like I'd sit through some commercials to see what happens next! Just saying.
Bro she was in the vidoe for 1 minute. You are a women predator. Fuck out of here.
THANK YOU Kevin and Dearly! I never knew this, I've been starting my tiller just so i could move it from point A to B and they move soooooo slow so it took awhile to get it to the shed... THANK you, have a blessed day!
Also, for transporting to and from, just lower the drag bar and it’ll drive without digging in. It’ll still turn the tines, so be careful. No need to pin wheels every time you move it. Thank you for showing this.
Yes, but it sure is slower that way. Plus you are wasting gas.
Thank you so much for this video! My husband was having a hard time controlling this machine. Until I came to this video. 🙏🏼
Thanks for the demonstration! I just bought one for my yard, and your demonstration are very helpful for me to start using my Troy Bilt. Thanks..
Well I think you knew you'd be helping a lot of people out when you were making this, and I'm just another to add to the pile, thank you kindly
Thank you sooo much for explaining the wheels. I literally just finished reading the owners manual to my brand new Troy-Bilt 15 mins ago, and it did not tell me anything about pulling the pins! Sure appreciate you.. happy gardening. Rick
Thank you for sharing this video. It is a great introduction to the operation of the Super Bronco. I have just purchased this model of Troy-Bilt tiller. This video has given me the confidence that I need to operate this piece of equipment safely and with confidence. Great job!
Thank you! I bought mine last year and swore I wouldn’t use it again. After watching video I now can use it without me having to fight it. I even went back to Tractor Supply to complain about it and they were of no help regarding it. Thanks to you I now know more than the sales person regarding tiller. Again thanks!
Thats a nice tiller, thank Kevin for show us how to operate it. Good job Dearly for tilling for us. Glad ur getting ur garden ready .
Thank you for this video. Borrowed this exact tiller from a neighbor and as a newby appreciated the simple instructions and demo.
Great tiller! For all the gardening you do,, you need it. I use a small cultivator and wouldn't want to ever be without one.
Great video very clear. Showing the difficult parts and the difficulty really helps. Thanks for an honest clear video appreciate it.
Thank you Dearly and Kevin for the demonstration 😊
Thank you!!!! Wheel engagement. This is exactly what I was looking for! God bless you!!!
Thank you for showing the choke and throttle. I’m an old gal who hasn’t started my tiller since last year (bought it new then) and couldn’t quite remember how to go about it so looked it up on UA-cam and you explained it.
It started right up. 🎉yayyyyy
Absolute life saver. You deserve a medal.
Your video is awesome and will definitely keep someone from getting hurt. Thank You! Y'all are awesome!
Wow that’s great 😃 your guest really explains it very well, can’t wait to try one, only will have to get some land , since I live in an apartment in CA 😂 I used to live in Front Royal, VA long time ago, lots of yard work and loved all the seasons ❤️
Thanks for the informative video. While researching which tiller I wanted to purchase, I saw many people complain about the tiller not free wheeling. This solves it. By the way, what you are calling a cotter pin we always called a Lynch Pin.
Very fun video. It quickly solved the confusion I had with tiller operation. After knowing what I was looking for, I was able find the information in the Operator’s Manual (Wheel Drive Mode p. 8) and now it makes sense. Thanks
Thank you for making the video. Wasnt sure what my problem was until I saw this. Cant believe Troybilt left this out of the manual. Just wow. Thanks again!
We just bought one of these. I have never used one before. So Thank you for showing us about the tires.
Thank you, my tiller has sat in the shed since I bought it because of this reason.
Thank you for the tips with the wheels . My dad just bring me one tiller machine and i didn't knew why the wheels were locked.. It is the first video that i see the reason ! Thank you again, take care , have a nice life both of you!
Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for.
Glad to see you have a nice tiller for your garden Dearly.. You will even be able to do flower gardens🌸🌸
Very helpful information! Your special guest instructs very well. Great info on the wheel lock! Dearly, your bunny ears are too cute!
Thank you. Only man on UA-cam, I needed this.
U both work so well together! Your husband is very patient!
I just got one and this video really helped me the way it works. Good job explaining it’s functions.
Bought a tiller identical to this tiller and just tried to till and was so frustrated until watching your video. Thank you thank you
Thanks guys, great job.
Oh man that's a nice tiller my eyes are so green 😉LOL just love that y'all were able to get the tiller
Thank you so much troy 18:31 built make a good machine with no instructions
I have that exact model and about to use today, very helpful, thanks
Omg, I have been using my tiller wrong for a very long time, thanks for that knowledge..
Excellent video. Very well done. I can't believe there is no mention of the pin in the axle. That's pretty critical. Not surprised the salesman didn't tell you. Thinking about buying one. Thank you very much.
Thank you for this! You are a lovely couple!
Miigwetch thank you it's 6 am in the morning here and we have a lot of work to git done your video is so helpful to us for getting our day going,; we live in a remote rural area here it takes us 2 hours traveling to git to the city we picked our new troy bilt pony roto tiller it was a 5 hours to drive to the dealership and back home again and then go by boat for three miles on a lake so it wasn't easy bringing our roto tiller home we had difficulties learning about how to operate and use it ; thankyou so much we need our tools and equipment to work where we live for survival
When all else fails read the direction! On my tiller the first thing in the book was about extending wheels to engage from free wheel position. Took me two minutes to find with my beautiful Filipino bride reading me the instructions!
Good tutorial Dearly and Kevin! I can’t wait until the snow melts here in Maine! We need some days in the 40’s and 50’s to get it all melted! I have spring fever now!
That's not the throttle it is the Reverse. Read on the handle. It is so you can back up. MUST have tines OFF the ground when you do it. I bought one years ago and it came assembled and delivered to house. They didn't put the handle bars on right and they would slide down and up. So if yours does that you need to move those flat bars to the other side of where they are. Lowes couldn't figure it out. You can adjust them for your comfy zone if you short or tall.
Hi Ms Dearly, I love watching your video. This is about 2 months ago we are in June 2021 now. I didn’t know about the wheel change that was exciting to learn from Kevin. I have a tiler like yours but I think my sister in law has it now. Any way I love your videos, so I started to wAtch earlier ones. There was a boy that ran from one of the trees to the wood stack. Don’t know it you knew that. 🥰
Thank you for the teaching
Thank you for demonstrating the wheel lock secret. I could find no information while trying to learn how to operate my new TB Super Bronco. It was a good thing I was in the middle of my plot because it took off like a hot rod getting a green light at the drag strip!
Thank you so much. Y'all rock.
Your plants are going to love it this yr. Carrots 🥕 for the bunnies!!
Kevin good job explaining, Dearly awesome video, And stay safe.
Good job in letting us know about the wheel mode. Dearly, it woll help uou with your work. 👍😊
Salamat po Dearly! Hello Kevin! Great instructional video guys, too much fun to miss.
I have one also and the first time trying to till I had the same problem but I finally figured it out!
My goodness. I remember when you did this video. So much has happened in such a small span of time. Hard to believe this wasn't a year ago.
Great video…..thank you 🤗
That's great 🤩 I just had to share this lot of people would have trouble figureing this out.
Thank you Dearly for your special guest 😊 Crazy Lake.
You seen this on Life with Dearly.
Dearly & Kevin
Good To Know,
Awesome Thats Great A Easy Way To Do It & A Better Way Cool That Is Very Nice.🙋
Thank you so much for this video. It was so much more helpful than the manuel!
👍👍👍 very nice tiller. Glad to see you got one. You will find that your garden will vastly improve now. Great vid!
I know this an old vid. but thank you so much for the detailed information
Thank you for this! Parents bought the same tiller and said it wasn't self propelled. For $800 it better be self propelled. I couldn't figure it out until I found your video.
GREAT video! That will save you (um....Kevin) so much back breaking work! Congrats on your new toy.
Look what you've got! WOW!! This is going to be so much easier on your little back. Congratulations. Your giggle is so precious and contagious. Love your all's channels. GOD bless you all.
OOF! Took me a ridiculous amount of time to figure out the wheel lock snafu on the smaller TB Bronco 5hp tiller that I borrowed from a friend. I weigh 115 pounds and couldn’t budge the machine at all with the wheels locked. Imagine how that would have went if the wheel lock pin had been moved prior to me tilling 😮. Thank you for this video and saving me a trip to the ER !
Omg thank you for making this video
I have one of these, crazy how they dont explain it better
She was doing pretty good job yo have never used a tiller before now. Good job Gigley gal!
Oh my lanta !!!! Thank you so much for making this video !! I’m a happy gardener now 😂
Such an awesome video, thank y'all so much! We got a chance to use one of these, and your video saved us a lot of grief and ensured our safety!! Never wanna experience a bucking Bronco™ lol
Using shear pins to engage the wheels are the norm on just about all rear tine tillers. It pays to keep a spare set of shear pins on hand in case you have one to shear.
To the new owners of these types of tillers a suggestion. Remove the wheels and apply grease to the axle shafts before you use the tiller for the first time. At the end of the season. Remove the wheels again, clean the axle shafts and wheel hubs, apply new grease and reinstall the wheels.
This will prevent the wheels from seizing to the axles and make gear box repairs much easier. A lot of time if the wheel seizes to the axle. The wheel will be destroyed when trying to remove it.
Thank you for this wheel demonstration. They don't have the directions on the website because people would not buy it because of having to change the wheel position I would not have bought it I've had mine two years. Used it once. Just pulled it out to try to use this evening. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Cool, tilling the yearly garden..Light and peace.
Awesome! Thank you!!
Great job Kuya and Ate👌🇵🇭
I have had the craftsman version for 3 years and didn't know it had self propel. It sure made it easier this year. I wish it had a better handle bar on it though.
Thank you for the demo . I thought it was broken
Hiya Dearly, haven't seen you on here before!Good to see you!!!😁🙋♀️
Really good suggestion
You gotta be freaking kidding me!!!! KEVIN.. THANK YOUUUUUU. going to try this today
Big horsepower on that ! It's a Birdseye back 40 special
Soo enjoyed the video! Very, very informational! Learn something new everyday! Good job Dearly& Kevin...btw..I saw Daniel sneaking behind woodpile..
You are absolutely right I just had this very tiller delivered today. I put it together started it and that's exactly what happen. It lunged forward and you couldn't keep up with it. I said this is BS I called the company and told them what was going on and they didn't know so I did a return order. I told them this was not going to work for me. So now I'm going to check this and I'll call them tomorrow and tell them what they need to let people know what they need to do. But I do still have a problem the cables are backwards. My reverse lever is my forward which is the short cable and the long cable is the reverse so its backwards in the machine.
Good point my friend you right 👍👏
thanks for sharing
thank you for the video
That was awseome!
Thanks for the information.
🐓🐰💚🌻💚🐇🐔
Thats an awesome tillerbi just repaired one the carb was dirty from sitting be sure you run the fuel out
Good job. Great!
Man, I’m so glad I got a D.R. Power version of the same model, (big one) you could just switch it in neutral switch it in the reverse change the tine direction
Oh you'll live it Dearly. I would have to use push botton start on most stuff now due to shoulder issues.
I still have a mule AND a donkey if i need them. lolol
I have a legend force and had the same problem. Was dragging it! 🙏 thanks. I am surprise it is not in the manual.
No we didn't notice the guy run and duck behind the wood pile. 😂 Great video thank you!
Thankyou so much!
Thank you!
