    So MUCH more than I expected. 2 napkins on fabric. WOW! Love it and you too! I just did a napkin on a hanging basket and it turned out pretty good. Now everything I see - I think about decoupage. Even hubby thinks it’s awesome and I am learning so much from your tutorials. Thank you for sharing (and just being YOU)!❤❤❤

      I appreciate that!! I know this kind of content is not for everyone. Many complain it's too long. But, I have so many that happen on my tutorials and say I answered so many questions people never thought to ask. I'm always so grateful when I get a comment like this. I never would have thought to decoupage a napkin onto fabric, Brandi!! I also appreciate you using the fabric Mod Podge so I can see it in action. I appreciate you and the wonderful tutorials. I have learned so much from you! I can see I'll be expanding my horizons. The desk looks wonderful, and so nice to be able to adjust the height, especially when your back is not behaving. Thanks for the inspiration, Brandi. ❤

    I love that bag, wonderful work. I'm sorry you are suffering with degenerative disk disease, I have it too so I feel your pain. I was also in a car accident 2 years ago and fractured my lower back, and I don't like to take medication, I use herbal supplements and anything natural, crafting helps me somewhat forget about pain. Here's to better days ahead. Love your shows, all of them. Keep up the good work...

Thanks for the tutorial, you’re a great teacher and explain everything so that we can understand and gain the confidence and inspiration to try things, you make me feel like I’m so experienced with decoupaging, till I do it myself lol. I’m getting better though and my projects are beginning to look half decent. TFS Brandi and have a great week. Your desk is going to be so good for your pain. It’s shit being in pain 24/7, I get over it but there’s not much you can do about it do you just get in with your life and it’s no use whinging as people think you’re putting it on cos they can’t see anything wrong and they think cos you’re doing things and smiling etc that there’s not much wrong with you, we’ll that’s what I’ve found anyway. Unless they have chronic pain, they don’t understand. Enjoy your new desk and I really hope that it helps you.

    I have done one project with decoupage on a bag like yours with napkin, but I need practice. I was not happy with the first one as far as selling it to a customer, but I am going to try and make 3 more for craft sale. I love the craft; I just need to be more precise when making it ,

    • @thediystruggle
      @thediystruggle  4 місяці тому

      All it really is, is practice. When I first started I did napkins which is the worst to start with. I should have tried card stock or paper.. then worked my way to napkins. I felt so defeated at times because my friend the official craft nerd. She is the one who introduced me to the art and she made amazing things. It looked so easy. But, my projects looked a mess and cling wrap did not work for me the way it did every other person I watched. It always tor my napkins.

    I just watched your video on decoupaging your tote bag. Your tips are great and well appreciated! Your teaching method is very good, you don’t go too fast nor too slow. I thank you for keeping the camera on the item and your hands NEVER block the camera’s view!
    Question: I will be showing my craft group decoupaging onto pot holder. I never knew to use ModPodge for Fabric-thanks for this great tip! The pot holder fronts are 100% polyester, we will not be decoupaging the back, just the front pocket. We know to use cardboard (we have painted fabric aprons and we used cardboard in case of paint leakage. Is it ok to use a heat gun to speed up the drying or just air drying for proper curing process? Thank you!

    • @thediystruggle
      @thediystruggle  Місяць тому +1

      First thank you so much for the sweet comment! I really appreciate you taking the time to be so kind!
      So, lol I deff have talked about this. I know everyone is different and teacher different. And, yes I know some use heat guns in there content for this. Even I have. But, here's what I can tell you.
      The cure time is what the cure time is, no matter if you are doing a spead up dry or not. It just superficially dries the top. The actual medium itself takes time to adhear through.
      I hope that makes sense. I personally have also experienced using a heat gun a d the medium not sticking entirely to the backing and creating more of a peal like surface if over done.
      So, I always recommend a natural dry for decoupage if time allows for it. The results are just better! Hope this helps!! And, tell your group Hi!! I hope yall make some beautiful amazing things!!🧡❤️💙💚

    I love that design! Once it's dry and sealed can it be washed? I might consider doing that for decor, like maybe something to frame. Otherwise I've had good luck with the ModPodge transfer medium, and you could always copy napkin designs with a laser printer to use that print as a transfer. Granted it's really easy to put together things to print, but there are some great napkin designs - like what you just used.

    I wonder what it would have looked like if you put the lighthouse down first... then put the nautilus part over it, making the nautilus section the frame... don't get me wrong, I loved your result the way it is. :)

    ❤ your video , Can l use colors canvas bags also to do the napkins also!

      You can just paint it white before applying the background. You could get colored fabric paint to blend around the napkin to the color of the bag

    There is one modge podge you do not shake. I am at the doctor’s office. I have my bottle labeled. I would not have known if I had not read the label. That is like art glitter glue. It came not tolerated a certain low temperature. The company does not ship in the winter months.
    The bag is beautiful.

      The directions on the bottle will help you with that! I have only ever rinsed mine and let it air dry!! Hope this helps!

      I plan on making a short of me washing this but I want to let this cure for atleast 3-5 days to give it a chance to really be on the bag. I will post it about it as soon as i do!

    Very nice, I would like to try this, is it really stiff when you are done? Could you sew through it?

    • @thediystruggle
      @thediystruggle  Рік тому

      To my surprise it is not stiff, it is the texture of the bag! I deff think you can sew through it!

    I was wondering is it safe to get wet?? I was thinking about trying that. I never new that they had Mod Podge for fabric. This is a game changer. Thank you for another great video.
