I just love listening to your one-sided conversations as you work. You keep me interested in what you're doing, and I get a few snickers and giggles listening. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and creativity. ❤️🙂🤣
Hi, I've been decoupaging since the 1970s. I began decoupaging on glass about nine years ago. I use paper napkins, and I also use laces and beading and all kinds of things. I'm also an artist so I hand paint a lot of my pieces. Glass is my favorite canvas. One thing I would like to share with you is that if you really want to save time on base coating your glassware instead of using two or three coats of chalk paint and having to sand it, use some Rust-Oleum spray either a matte finish or a primer that's white. I also use Rust-Oleum clear gloss sealer to spray them afterwards when they're all dried and ready to go. Sometimes I will use acrylic paint, but most of the time I use acrylic enamels. When I do base coat with acrylic if I'm going to put another color over it, I will use a sponge to dab the acrylic on with and then I take a very soft, dry makeup brush and slightly go over it and it's as smooth as can be. The rustoleum primer works especially well if you're going to cover the whole thing with a napkin or it works well if you just cover partially with napkins and then do a background color of paint with it. Best of lucj with your how to videos. One day, I will make some videos. 🥰
Thank you so much for all the wonderful information!! I have used some of these techniques before.. it's so nice to know it works for so many others as well!! Bless you my friend!! Take care!
Learned several things: don't cut the napkin, how to paint on glass, the fan brush technique, and using saran wrap. Thanks for all those tips! Love the sound effects (glass breaking LOL) and your face memes in the corners!!! 😆🤪
Brandi, I received a message in the comments that said I won a prize and to respond back to you through "telegram". I am suspicious of this message because I received the same message in the comments section from another UA-cam crafter. Just thought you should know in case someone is impersonating you.
I love the way you mod podge. I was taught to put the napkin down and apply the decopodge over it and i have alot of wrinkle sometimes that cant be smoothed out so I'm glad I happened upon your app.TY
I’m not sure what I like best about your videos, all the information you give us to put out a great project, or just sitting back and listening to you talk. Never the less I can always count on you for a beautiful project, and good laugh. Thanks for sharing all your talents.
Brandi, thank you so much for this video. The reality of the amount of time and patience that goes into each decoupage piece is wonderful to see. I keep thinking there is something wrong with me because everything I create just takes forever. Love your honesty and your humor! Have a voluptuous day!!
It is important to wait the dry times when your creating pieces. And, for me this is ART! I stress this because it SHOULD take YOU TIME! You should wait the recommended drying because ALL of it is going to make your pieces last a long time and if you have people who purchase from you, YOU WANT to be confident in what you are selling to people. I show stuff fast because I HAVE TOO, now sometimes. especially, when I am doing large pieces or furniture it takes me days and hours returning to pieces. Nothing wrong with you at all!! This is another reason I love doing these tutorials because it allows me to cut through the fancy of watching a quick diy video to show nice new items. and get down to *THIS IS ALL THE BEHIND THE SCENES* While I still keep it very real and informational on fridays it still does not give me the ability to break it down like i care to in each and every video. Unfortunately, youtubes algorithm doesn't seem to push videos like this for me to grow, like they do my friday videos, so when I post a tutorial I only worry about it reaching my subscribers and helping them. I am not sure if that makes sense but I hope so..lol Oh, my I am rambling! You take your time and love every piece!
Me too, friend. My husband is so patient with me 😅 I have whatever project just spread out over the area and he gives me a couple weeks before he requests I wrap it up 🥰 I take forEVER to do any project!!
Brandi, you are the best. I love that you tell it the way it is and you answer people's rude comments before they write them. GOOD for you, but I'm sorry you have to deal with rude comments. Love ya girl, you are so talented I really learn a lot from you. SO...thank you!!!
I appreciate that Sandie! It deff comes with the territory I think of just being in the public eye. Luckily last year I had a short hit over 200k views and almost every comments was rude...lol It did so well because people did not care for it like I did..lol and they had no problem telling me about it! over a 1000 rude comments I grew pretty thick skin after that..lol
TIP:Never cut the napkins unless the sharp edge look is what youre after, by tearing the edge it gives a more natural look,,,You can use a small paint brush with water, trace around the object you want to use, the water allows the paper to tear where you want it to and not rip into the picture
I use deco podge before I paint.Especially if I'm using my paint pens on wood,it keeps them from bleeding into the grain. But the sponge effect is absolute,I use it on alot of my projects to keep from having to giving a second coat.
Great tips! I "cut" napkins by dripping water where I would cut with scissors and using the end if a small paint brush to separate. It seems to blend more naturally.
I had to subscribe because i am laughing so hard watching this on a day when my air conditioner broke and flooded! I learned a lot i didn't about painting glass! The humor was great!

I love this. I might just try a fine nail sponge. I think it might work well and even use the buffer in spots that I want to shine. I really need to try this.
Loved both techniques. Learned quite a bit, especially using chalk instead of acrylic paint. Never thought about the fan brush for the edges. Have a couple of glass vases I can use techniques on. Thank you!

I agree with you on the sand paper. And I along with other peeps love who you are too! You are real and don't put on a fake show. BTW I cuss like a sailor too 🤪
Thank you. I actually have started collecting jars before finding your channel. I decorated a wine bottle for my granddaughter’s friend who is getting married. It turned out really nice, so that’s what got me to thinking about doing jars and giving as gifts with fresh flowers at various holidays. You have given me great ideas here. Excited to start doing them. I’ve already purchased some napkins and even Christmas ones and it’s July!
Totally agree about the sand paper. I always use 220 or 400 for glass and even for furniture when most people do 100 always works great for me without sanding to much off.
Thank you for this tutorial. I have those exact vases (7 of them) and I have been mentally blocked as to what to do with them all. You have inpired me!!!

Thanks for pointing out the opaque look compared to the see through look. Was going to decoupage a jar with a white candle in it, without thinking what it would look like after the candle was gone. I'll paint it first now. Always enjoy your videos.

Girl I love watching you Decoupage on glass I never tried it on glass They all so Beautiful its something about Decoupage on different things I can't explain it lol
Love this video and your personality!! First decoupage video I watched and so happy I did! Can't wait to teach the individuals I work with. They will love it. Thank you!
I love your channel. Your projects are awesome and your painting tips are so helpful. I remember my mother Tole painting on glass jars. I don't know what kind of paint she used, but her designs were on there to stay. Maybe it was model car paint. I absolutely love the little bunny. She is so prescious on the glass !!
Folk art paint has enamel paint. It’s for glass specifically. Paint and dry the piece in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Great for outdoor items. The new stiff called “multi surface”, works on all surfaces, paper, glass and wood, and cures as described above for glass

Beautiful. I’ve always put decoupage over top of the design too (I like the look without it)and I like your tip at the end for the edges.
Thanks so much!
Beautiful pieces. Thx so much for the tips 💜

I love listening to you, it reminds of home. PA. Unfortunately I'm coming in the next few days because of a death in the family.
Awww, I'm so sorry! That's never a good way to catch up with family. Unfortunately, it happens! I always feel blessed to see people! Take care Robin

I did catch myself today saying, “tappity, tap, tap, tap!” 😂😂😂
LOL, it is easy to do..lol
Enjoying your voice over always. Great 💡 Watching til the end.
👍 I totally get you about the final price shock! I have sat in the car looking over the receipt over and over and over until I just accept it! 😢 ????
I love your channel. Your projects are awesome and your painting tips are so helpful. I remember my mother Tole painting on glass jars. I don't know what kind of paint she used, but her designs were on there to stay. Maybe it was model car paint.
I absolutely love the little bunny. She is so prescious on the glass !!
Some paint is actually for glass. I have some and as soon as it dries it's unbelievable!! Thanks so much for the information!!!
Folk art paint has enamel paint. It’s for glass specifically. Paint and dry the piece in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Great for outdoor items. The new stiff called “multi surface”, works on all surfaces, paper, glass and wood, and cures as described above for glass
Thanks for the info.
Brand new..glad I found a use for the fan brush. I think this is gonna be fun🙂
Thanks Bonnie!
