I tried this after your first video and it turned out great! I also did it in a canvas tote and gave it to my best friend and she carried the bag to work every day. Definitely going to do more. Thanks for sharing with us Joan!
Thank you for this lovely tutorial. When I watch your techniques and suggestions light bulbs go off in my head and I start buying more craft supplies. Thanks again. 👍 💗 👍
Perfect timing! I just found some canvas bags I purchased at Michael’s during a sale earlier this year. Now, I’m motivated to make some of them! 🤔 I might need to shop for more napkins… vippies, here I come! 😆 Thank you for the video.
Love a sale! I just picked out a few beachy napkins from Vippies. My sister said she’d like a zipper pouch and a matching beach tote! 😳😫 but how can I say no! 😂 Have fun decoupaging your bags and let me know how it goes! Thanks for watching! - Joan 😎❤️
I love your ideas!! I usually make cards for my crafts- but I love having ideas for other things! Also- I am so glad I found out about Vippies from you - I hate having to buy a whole pack of napkins!!!!
How long does it take to dry approximately before you iron? Do you let it dry completely? This is a great project. Love the napkin you chose to demonstrate - so beautiful. The possibilities are endless.
I'm absolutely in love, love, love with this, and you did such a great job demonstrating and explaining. I'm wondering, though, would I get the same effect if I used rice paper instead of napkins?
Hi Joan.. Do let the final coat of fabric mod podge cure for days or weeks before you put the Deco Art sealer... If making these to resell this would take along time before selling... any easier tips so speed up the process. thanks
The background color of the napkin should match the color of the bag or you’ll see the edge. You can also cover the entire side and then it won’t matter what color your napkin is, I have another diy video where I cover the entire side! ua-cam.com/video/Da9bHAs-XyE/v-deo.htmlsi=_LH4oc8FE5ferVYR - Joan
in the blue bag video you waited for the modge podge to dry and then you did the ironing step; in this one you didn't seem to let it dry at 4:13 you said you are putting it on before letting it dry but then later on you did say you were drying it; i'm confused. please clarify; also you said later on that it took a few weeks to really set in; could i put the dura clear on the same day if I don't have a few week's time? thanks so much
This video diy is the easiest of all my canvas bags, for a newbie beginner so start here. Wait a few days before putting on the DuraClear. Sorry you are confused, for now only watch and follow this video then try it.
Yes with no steam. BUT if you think you’ll use the iron-on method again, then please purchase a craft iron, doesn’t have to be a cricut, just for crafting - Joan
@JoanMarieDomino sorry another question. I want to print my own images on tissue paper to use on these bags but have an ink jet printer. Do you know how it would work out so I don't get any smear or bleeding from the ink?
Seal both sides as I demo in the video and wipe off if it gets soiled. I’m not sure if they’d make it thru a machine wash. You’ll have to try it on scrap canvas and let me know. 😁 Joan
Love this!!!
You are exceptionally clear with the directions for your projects! Thank you!
Beautiful video share ❤❤
Perfect gift idea!!! Thanks so much
Adorable! I appreciate how clear and organized this tutorial is.

This such a creative work of art... thank you.
Excellent tutorial! You did a great demonstration… I watched without sound and understood the steps clearly .. hope to try this!
Thank you so much! I watch videos without sound too so I don’t wake anybody up! Thank you for watching! - Joan

Hi Joan💖 Love your video……fun fun fun🥰
Hi Pat! I’m glad you love my video! Thank you for watching! - Joan ❤️
How long does it take to dry approximately before you iron? Do you let it dry completely? This is a great project. Love the napkin you chose to demonstrate - so beautiful. The possibilities are endless.
It really depends on humidity etc, I just to wait overnight before iron- Joan
I'm absolutely in love, love, love with this, and you did such a great job demonstrating and explaining. I'm wondering, though, would I get the same effect if I used rice paper instead of napkins?
I have never tried rice paper. It is thicker then napkin so I would say no but you can always try on scrap material. Let me know - Joan
Wonderful tutorial! I'd love to try my hand at it! Since the Duraclear is water soluble. Will it become sticky in humidity (rain) or if it gets wet?
If it gets a little rained on you can just wipe it off. Mine never got sticky but they were not exposed to high humidity so I don’t know. - Joan
Hi Joan.. Do let the final coat of fabric mod podge cure for days or weeks before you put the Deco Art sealer... If making these to resell this would take along time before selling... any easier tips so speed up the process. thanks
No, it takes time for these products to “cure”. There may be other fabric adhesives you can try. - Joan
Great project for gifts!. Will the napkin 'disappear' on a natural or beige bag as well? Thanks.
@@JoanMarieDomino Thank you!
And where did you get the beautiful napkin? Love it!
Hi! From Vippies Designs however I know they sold out. They have more coming soon . In the meantime they have 100’s to choose from! - Joan
Hi Dear, thank you for sharing this.
Is it save to wash it?
If you feel it must be washed then cold water, gentle cycle, hang dry - Joan
Love the video can you wash the bag if it gets dirty?
Wipe off, make sure the entire bag is sealed. Not washing machine

Hi mrs Joan how long to wait for the Fabrica mod podge to dry when you are doing the cosmetic bag !
Hi! Give it as much time as you can. Mod Podge “cures” more then “drys” if that makes sense. A few days - Joan 🙂
@@JoanMarieDomino good morning Joan thank you , and I love your videos of your beautiful projects. ❤️💙💛
Thank you for watching Norma! ❤️ - Joan
Can i use a regular iron? I dont want to go purchase the cricut mini one to try this out
Yes with no steam.
Ink Jet with run, smudge, smear etc. laser printers only
Is it important ti put fabric glue until the top ?or is for more protection??
Yes
Can you use a regular iron for this?
You can with no steam. A crafting iron is more ideal
Is it washable?
Seal both sides as I demo in the video and wipe off if it gets soiled. I’m not sure if they’d make it thru a machine wash. You’ll have to try it on scrap canvas and let me know. 😁 Joan
What if you don't have a cricket iron?
A craft iron is always the best thing to use it doesn’t have to be a Cricut. If you use a household iron, no steam - Joan
Can you decoupage rice paper on a canvas bag?
Hi Pam! I have never tried rice paper. You can give it s try on a piece of scrap fabric and let me know! 🙂- Joan
Is it washable. 😊
Hi! The bag should feel like vinyl or leather when finished so should only need to be wiped off. Joan
What if we don't have any napkin? What else can we use for the design? Can a patterned paper will do?
No don’t use paper, you can use a piece of fabric instead.
Okay. Thanks!
How what is this beautiful napkin called please.
I’m sorry I don’t know the name
Could you please give the measurements of the bag? I’m in the uk and the link isn’t working properly for me. Thank you.
Hi! 4-1/2 x 7 is the size I used in video but you can go bigger if you want! Thanks for watching! - Joan
@@JoanMarieDomino thank you.
how many coats of duraclear per side?
One
Everytime I try mod podge on fabric it's drys sticky 🤷♀️
You need to seal the MP like I did in the video. Still takes time to cure, like 30 days per the manufacturer, you need to be patient. - Joan 🙂
Thank you 🙂
