I just want to say thank you your tutorials are very real real life real way the whole way through. You can show the ups and downs of the DIY struggle, so that when we approach a problem when we do our projects, we know how to fix them and know that we’re not alone with the struggle number two I love watching her tutorials for the main reason of the humour you mix humour with real life struggle, well giving great information and not only how to save money and still make our homes look beautiful but to enjoy life for what it is cape struggling my friend thank you again

I haven' t tried it, but I think I'd like to use 4 smaller frames to make a lantern for an LED candle, or maybe something using a push light. I really like your results!

Hi Brandi, I have made stained glass-look pictures by painting the face of the picture with Modpodge, letting it dry completely then soaking it in water and rubbing off the back until the image is transparent then using Modpodge to adhere it to the glass. You can make some really pretty suncatchers that way or you can add it to the glass of a lantern for a really pretty glow. Painting on 3 or more layers of Modpodge on the image then soaking it in water has worked the best for me. I hope this gives you some ideas.

Thank you. As for me I liked it better with just the rose alone and the one butterfly on the top left. Reason is less cluttered looking and more focus on the main object. Plus a pleasing simpleness.

I wish I could give u pointers, but I’m learning from you! Question: I noticed that all UA-cam creators mention, like all the time, “do what u like”. Is that to prevent liabilities?
Btw, the ‘frosted’ glass demo turned out beautifully! Ur so fun to watch. Byeee

    • @thediystruggle
      @thediystruggle  Рік тому

No. Because, in reality it's a persons choice to do whatever. I also have a disclaimer in every description box for my self.
But, I say do what you like because I've gotten so much negative comments on peoples criticism of colors, crafts, just all the things. So, I like to say get inspired from what I show you and then remix it into your own version.
      I hope that helps.

For years I was an activity director at a nursing home. My residents loved doing stained glass projects. Dollar store frame with only one pane of glass. The residents would choose their project, birds, flowers, animals. Would trace on the back side in black, thick, stain glass around the picture they chose. Blacking the pertinent lines so they could see the picture themselves. (Simple ones) And also draw for them the lines to join the picture to the frame. After dry
they used stain glass paint to color as they wanted. Beautiful. Would put frame on and a hanger so they could be hung in the window. They loved them and their families had a keepsake they could cherish.

Brandi, did you know Home Depot sells glass? It might be cheaper to buy it there and cut to size like you do with trim and wood.
Also it MIGHT help to put a solid color paper behind it, then put a light between the paper and the glass, to show the swirl effect better.

I noticed to you didnt apply alot of mod podge on the back of your pics.. i thought it looked so good but i usually see ppl covering all over the backs of stuff.. it only took a smidge and it looked so good. The swirling affect! Oh my gootness.. first time ive ever seen or heard of this technique and its so simple but so elegant when its finished! I always enjoy your sense of humor and calling it as is.. so nice to kick it with someone down to earth. Thanks for sharing this and look forward to the next one. Definitely gonna give this a shot.. your pics were so pretty! I havent been doing diy's very long and i havent done alot of stuff just yet.. girl ive never been inside a hobby lobby or .. is it joanne's.. ive only been inside a michaels bout 3x.. its in another state .. the others too but the drive to either of the three is long and my health keeps me from doing alot BUT.. my goal is to get there sometime soon lol.. people thank im crazy when i tell that BUT i always see gorgeous stuff on your channel and others and for cheap so i can understand why they do haha! Again.. thanks for being chill and fun. You make your videos in a way like its a true conversation and im invested in the moment.. thats a wonderful gift along with your gifts and talents. So much fun!
Take care and have blessed week 🙋🏼‍♀️

Yes, just one coat but i do wanna try more, I want to see if it makes it more noticeable! I am a huge fan of less is more with mod podge. Doing this the last several years I have learned the more mod podge you use doesnt always mean a better hold. it does mean stuff will get wet, and wonky, and bubble, and possibly rip. That's just been my experience!

And, thank you Bridget! I appreciate that so much. I can also tell you Hobby lobby and their sales are way cheaper than micheals almost always. If you get a chancel to hit a hobby lobby.. DO IT! When your having a good enough day do it, and hit a dollar general or family dollar too if you can find them. Idk if you hang out with me on browse with brandi but I have so many in very similar situations as you and some even send relatives to the store with lists because they can not get out. It is one reason I created this channel so you can do what you love on a budget, plan things and get an idea of whats going on in the stores even if you can not get to them often! My mother only gets out once a week. She is on oxygen and she is a lung cancer survivor so believe me I understand you completely it is one of the reason I made that browsing channel. I never want people to feel like they are stuck in and do not know whats going on in stores! Especially if the hobby they love is DIY related!

You can use winter gloves or even buy some very thin gloves that you can use over and over again, for glass projects.

Thank you, Brandi! I loved your project. I keep buying ephemera (the printed cardstock pieces), thinking that I am going to use them on cards, but they just sit on my dining table, mocking me. This may be a good way for me to finally put them to use!

I had never seen this before. It is so nice. Is the glass that should be on top just to protect whatever you put down, in your case, the paper flowers? Thank you for your time, Brandi.

Yes Teri! It keeps the ones I put on the front in place and protects them.
