- I never want to cut my grass again. My 4x4 robot lawn mower LUBA is my answer. It is the most high tech robotic lawn mower on the market. It can mow over an acre and is fully controllable with a phone app and GPS. If you like cutting grass this is not for you. If you want a smart automatic lawn mower this is the best out there. I own one. I was one of the original kickstarters. As he mentioned in the video, they have continually improved the software and made some changes to the hardware too. I have a lawn that simply can't be fully cut because of the slopes. It will tip a ride-on mower and I can't even imagine a push mower. I had to do large areas with a weedwhacker. This thing powers up the hills without any issue. It also navigates the ruts without issue. I ran it all year and aside from some GPS tracking issues, was flawless. As for the GPS issues, they have slowly improved the logic. I ran a final late fall cut over the weekend and it didn't get lost at all like it use to before the commercial launch.

I am moving later on this month and I have to find out how big the grass area is before I commit to buying one. The property all-told is 3.15 acres, so I am hoping the grass comes in at 1.25 to 1.5 acres. Then it's Luba 5000 time.

Now this is the kind of Robo Mower I’ve been looking for. No perimeter wires and none of the zigzag mowing of most of the Robomowers in the marketplace. This one just jumped up to the Top of the Bucket List of Mowers. My lawn tractor is 20 years old but still working fine but I know it’s lifespan is getting closer to the end of its life expectancy. (hey I guess I could say the same 🤔😳😉😂)
Glad to see you appear to have escaped the great disaster some of your Fellow Hawaiians fell victim to. Our prayers to the Citizens of the Great State of Hawaii as they recover from this unprecedented tragedy. We know about disasters here in South Louisiana so prayers for the long journey of recovery ahead.

The GPS is cool technology as my kids high school uses GPS to chalk the football field and paint logos. I hope your still enjoying the mower.

You probably can. I have not had to yet. They will last months, can be flipped to the new side and also the replacement pack is very affordable. Thanks for watching
Based on what I've seen with other folks who the unit, you flip them then replace them. Basically, they're razor blades.
Can you program more than one zone? Example put it in the front yard and backyard
Yes you can add up to 10 zones.
I have reservations on keeping it outdoors 24/7. Not sure how long it will last. Maybe garage kept then taken out to mow.
I know what you mean. It’s nice and cost A lot of $. It does pretty good in its garage. I have seen people make better garages for them. I might do that in the future if it starts to take a beating. Thanks for watching

I am waiting for Luba to have both LiDAR and gps navigation before I upgrade my automower.
I don’t think gps alone is sufficient. A combination will really replace perimeter mowers.

Glad your ok ! Drive old yotas and recently thought an extinguisher would be a nice in the trunk thing to have . A lot of them say not to have over certain temps / hot car some are for boats some in cans spray distance expiration foam yata yata ..alota choices . Be cool if you did some tests / found a good one. How much are the replacement batteries? Are they easy to replace?
Never had to do it yet. This battery is way oversized for my yard so its gonna last a very long time.
Aloha Jeremy, Great video. I think you are the first person in Hawaii to review the Luba. Did you encounter any problems with satellite coverage? I am unable to receive SiriusXM and the dish due to poor satellite coverage on Oahu. When I tried to order the Luba 5000 they would not sell it to me saying it has not been thoroughly tested in Hawaii. Since grass is grass, I can only assume they are concerned about satellite coverage 21degrees North of the equator. We live in the back of Makaha Valley, and I have never had a problem with my DJI drones acquiring enough satellites for 3D navigation. I would appreciate your take on this. Mahalo, Rex
Hey Rex. I have had no signal issues at all. It has worked great since day 1. It a really cool way to get the grass cut. You will need a line of sight to the sky from the RTK unit for it to work. Not sure how tucked away you are over there. Thanks for watching.

@@HawaiiDetailing I love your videos and watched a bunch before I bought my new truck. I live on Maui and the Luba website says they don't ship here. I emailed them, hopefully they change their mind. RTK shouldn't be an issue. We use GNSS/ GPS equipment at work without issue all the time. Thanks for the great review.
Before cleaning you should remove the safety key so that there is no chance of the cutters turning ....big danger for the fingers. Btw you can wash it with a garden hose...it is certified for this type of cleaning.

I love watching idiots complain. $150 a month??? I can’t even get staff to show up for that price. That fact has caused me to cancel lawn care only service. We now only do complete care. Mowing, fertilizer, weed control, pruning, irrigation. Not sending staff to mow lawns. Ungrateful clients are dropped quickly. People think automation is bad for trades, landscapers etc. all you office folk are in for a surprise, your job is fully avoidable right now, today! There will ALWAYS be a spot in society for people who can build things and have good work ethic. And you can charge whatever you want if your even decent. Why? Because you’re lazy and therefore can’t afford to be cheap. Yell and scream all you want, hire the next guy for half the price and watch them destroy your yard or cost you time, energy and sanity. You waste far more money not paying and complaining then just appreciating and paying a good contractor. I welcome these mowers and technology.

When I pay 150 a month of my hard earned money for a half assed weed wacker job that I have to spend 2 hours cleaning up after I would call that a waste of my money. Do good work and people will pay you without complaining. Tear up the yard and leave a mess, never answer your phone unless it’s payday and people will talk crap. It’s easy business 101.
