Wow, just wow. You are so talented, that was a very beautiful video. So well narrated and put together. I'm so happy that you and your lovely family are still here. There was a few times over the last few years that I thought that you guys might have enough of the horrible weather and leave for sunnier climes. But, you have persevered. For what its worth, we are very lucky to have you and your family here. We need the diversity and talent that you guys bring. We are fortunate that in 2024, Ireland is a land of opportunity. It hasn't always been like that (thanks England) but the home grown talent is here and with a sprinkling of South African magic we will all prosper. Your sacrifices will be worth it, believe me. Your children will grow up safe, rich in the culture, tradition and history of Ireland while reminded of their amazing African heritage by you guys.
I mean this in the nicest possible way, but your skills should be recognised and used in the media industry. You have a gift.

What a beautiful video & narration. We too have been here 5 years. Me as "Returning Irish" & my hubby as a South African who had never even visited Ireland before we moved across. His journey from the vastly unfamiliar to now, where he also feels that Ireland is his home is much like yours. The good days, the bad days. Me showing him the beauty of the country. Teaching him the subtle intricacies of Irish culture. Buying our dream property, deep in the countryside. All leading to the point where he refers to Ireland as Home. I'm so happy that you love this country as much as we do. 💕

Thank you for posting Bronwyn and sharing your journey with us. My wife is from Dungarvan and your videos initially caught my eye because of your beautiful videos of the West Waterford scenery. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

A truly inspirational video. I loved your narration. You are so right; it is all about the journey. Life is a wonderful journey filled with surprises, challenges, joy and sorrow. But it is how we respond to these that either grow us or stunt our progress. I cannot agree with you more, with our trips to Ireland, her people are so friendly and welcoming, and her history and her spirituality are fascinating and intriguing. She is a country of many happy returns. We looking forward to your next five years.

Great credit to you and James and the kids. It's not easy even for those of us with some level of support around us but you had to dig even deeper. I think in time, when you look back, you'll miss those 'hard' years. I do. Reminds me (in parts) of Neil Sedaka's song "I miss the hungry years".
Ypu usually give a summary of what the budget did or didn't do for you. Might be helpful to others thinking of coming to Ireland. Did they extend the free school books? Was there something about breakfast and/or lunch in school? I'm gone past that. Always seem to miss out.
I see some comments about immigrants. I welcome all immigrants. The only reason anyone would come to Ireland is to try, as you are doing, to set out to have a better life. I only wish we could do better in terms of housing everybody, immigrants & locals. I would only ask one thing of them, without losing your own culture or identity, try an assimilate into Irish society. Up to us Irish to try and make that as easy as possible.
Keep up the great content. You do have a talent. You should contact RTE. Maybe you can become a correspondent for the southeast or become a presenter for Nationwide. I'm serious. What have you to lose?

Thank you so much for you lovely comment. I had to search for the song on youtube, a beautiful song! Have it playing now. Words ring true! I will definitely have to do a cost of living video update very soon as things have changed quite a lot since I last did one. The budget has been kind to families this year, will do an update.

Nice video I wish you well. I must admit I have had some nasty spats online with South African rugby fans who seem to absolutely hate the Irish. They call it banter. But it's basically abuse. It's good to hear some positive feedback from South Africans who realise we are a good kind people. I wish your family well.
