Many thanks for watching! I'm going to be starting a separate channel for the drone footage to keep this channel focused on immigration. If you would like to join me there I would so appreciate it. No videos there yet, but will be uploading some soon! I've called it Eireial Adventures
As a fellow enthusiastic DJI Mini4 Pro User and my fourth drone I am sure you will have much fun with this awesome little machine. Born and living in the UK my partner and I have holidayed in Ireland for the past 3 years and we also love the people and the scenery. We are well on our way round The Wild Atlantic Way and plan to resume northwards from Galway this summer. Noting your comment about editing and laptop difficulties, I would recommend the free programme CapCut which as well as apps for android and iOS also has a desktop version. On the laptop I too had problems with 4k with an i5 processor but as I believe UA-cam only renders to 1080p I’ve reduced to this and even on a 55 inch TV screen the video is plenty sharp enough. You may wish to compare . Looking forward to more videos from your new adopted country.
Found your channel through this video, as I have just purchased a mini 4 pro as well. Waiting for the rain to stop so I can take it out for my first flight. Have looked over some of your videos and find them a great option from a lot of the noise on UA-cam. Thank you and look forward to more. 😊
Welcome aboard! No frills or fuss here! Just real life! This week looks like a good week in our area for some drone flying... hope your weather clears up soon!
You'll be spoiled for choice with regards to beautiful places to fly in this country. I've been flying for years around Ireland, it's just amazing. With regards to software, I use Premiere Pro to edit my cinematic videos
Thanks so much for that, I've been looking at premiere Pro. I currently use Davinci, the free version. It's been great, but I think it's time for an upgrade!
@@impromptuimmigrants You're very welcome. The big thing for me is 10bit editing, and as good as the free version of Davinci is, that's one thing it lacks. There's also a load of AI tools in the latest version of Premiere Pro.
Impressive! Wow that's a stunning castle, enjoyed watching your video, chilled amd relaxing vibe. I've added your channel, hopefully you'll show us more of Ireland? Maybe you'll consider connecting with another Mini drone channel?

I edit on both MacBook using Final Cut Pro and on my iPad Air using Luma Fusion. Yes, 4k files can be challenging so it does pay to get a decent amount of both power and memory. I recently updated my very old Macbook Pro to a lower spec MacBook Air, and it was a mistake as there is never enough memory or processing power - so I am swapping it after less than a year for a powerful MacBook Pro. I do find that the iPad Air does a very good job though and a lot of my videos are edited entirely there. Good luck with the Mini 4 Pro. I still have the 3 Pro but just cannot justify upgrading to the 4, much as I would like to!
Not doing it myself currently, but herewith some tips. Don’t try edit off your SD card, copy to disk rather. Create a proxy low res version for editing, especially for 4K footage. Rendering can be a rabbit hole, Davinci Resolve seems to be the most popular for editing and if you really need to, Handbrake (Windows) can be handy standalone tool for transcoding files. H265 codec seems pretty standard these days. AV1 still new. They say rendering on CPU can technically produce better results, but GPU is much faster. You’ll have to experiment with all the other settings to find a good quality vs acceptable file size balance. Good luck.
Thanks so much for this! I currently edit all my videos with Davinci and find it great for what I need. Will play around and see what works best! Thanks again!
I can’t believe that footage is from your first flight. Wow! Stunning scenery & excellent first flight 😀 I was slightly confused though when you said you had to take an online test & get a piloting licemce?. Certainly in the UK, all you need is an operator ID for sub 250g drones (at about £10.50 per year). Your drone must be labelled up with this. You don’t need a flyer’s (yet) but it’s a simple online test… is free to take & lasts 5 years. I’ve actually got one, but it isn’t mandatory yet. The rules regarding sub 250g drones are a lot more relaxed too.. like there are no minimum distances to buildings etc & you can fly over people (not crowds tho) All these things are different for drones that weigh 250g or more, but your drone is less than 250g. I might be wrong, but I thought the rules & requirements were the same for Ireland. Either way, you are fully covered so enjoy it & keep posting videos like this 👍😀 Regards, Steve
Hi Steve, Ireland seems quite strict with the drone license, as soon as I acknowledged it wasn't a toy I was put through to pay a fee. Anyway, at least all the boxes are ticked! The mini 4 pro is quite user friendly, I was so nervous but it helps you so much as you fly. I'm still super cautious but I think I will gain confidence and get braver as we go!
Get a decent editing programme, final cut pro, movavi, I'm sure I saw saw free 4k ones you might find. I bought mini pro 4 nearly 3 months ago and weather has not been good enough fitting in with my Tim to fly. Also have mini 3 pro and mini 2 my first one. Apps drone assist let's you know where you can legally fly sub 250g drones and Air data UAV for conditions weather and such. What course that you paid for, I did the flyer ID which was optional and free. You do have to have operator ID through the CAA unless different in the ROI. Great drone to start with. The best advice I can offer is regardless of the 360 obstacle avoidance is fly it like it hasn't.
I did a certification through IAA, Irish aviation authority. Because it has a camera, we had to pay for the certificate even though it's sub 250g. The weather looks good this week so will hopefully be able to get out a bit!
Awesome. I just love it. Where were you when you took the video? Still trying to get used to Elijah having two front teeth 😁. Enjoy and look forward to your amazing drone videos ❤
Congratulations! Flying drones can get addictive. You now own the best mini drone in the market. Seriously, nothing that size comes close to it. Editors advice: I was in the same situation. I kept upgrading my PC but it seem like I couldn’t keep up with the large files (4K & 5.3K). Especially, when I started to learn different effects, transitions, color grading, etc. it was so frustrating. Unfortunately, I was surrounded by PC computer users. So I stayed spinning my tires for a while. Finally I purchased a MacBook Pro with M2 chip. Everything changed at that point. The MacBook Pro made editing enjoyable again. And! I’m able to edit anywhere. In between meetings, at my son’s Basketball practice, visiting my Mom, and so on. Also, I have a iPhone so I can airdrop videos back and forth with ease. Now keep in mind I’ve been using PC systems since day one, so the workflow on a Mac concerned me. I was definitely overthinking it. It didn’t take me long to get it. My only regret is not purchasing a MacBook sooner. I spent so much time at my computer completely stressed out. I hope this information is hope. Take care ✌️😎

Beautiful flight and top score with the accompanying music which makes your video pop. 👌I did use Power Director for a number of years, and for my colour grading Devinchi Resolve(Free Version), however, I am now trying Final Cut Pro since I now have a Apple MacBook pro, but I have to say, the Power Director is much easier to use. I sincerely wish you and your family all the best for 2024 and keep up the cracking good videos. 👍
Thanks for the tips! I use Davinci too. I've found it great for my videos so far, it's just having a struggle with the drone files, so I will have to have a look around I think.
You are going to enjoy the hobby. I am also a (Irish born) drone pilot with a South African accent living in the North of Ireland. I do a lot of flying over the Sea here where I live... Over yachts, ships etc. I used to fly the Mavic 3 CLASSIC (superb machine).. But after much thought I sold it (regulations are getting worse by the day)... So I just fly my mini 3pro now. I use a Lenovo (i 7) laptop and use Cyber link Director as my editing suite... I only paid around £40 on a special deal for it last year. To renew will be a bit more. I don't have too many vids but will create some more once I get back from visiting my daughter in Macedonia. Happy flying (and I recommend a laptop with a fast processor.. i7 at least.
Thanks so much for the tips. The MAVIC 3 looks incredible. I'm so pleased with the mini4 pro, it's quite user friendly although I'm still super cautious flying it.
I do apologise. I usually sit and reply to comments late in the evenings but I have assignments this week which has taken priority. It wasn't intentional, so please don't take offense. I do appreciate your advice and comments.

Great video. Im considering this drone.. has your drone been attacked by birds yet?
Not yet!! Although I've been playing it quite safe.
Hi I was thinking of getting the Dji mini 2 se would I have to register or get it authorised
As far as I understand, as long as it has a camera it needs to be registered... even if sub 250g
