I can't wait to try this! Yes, I've ALWAYS used rice paper/napkins so this opens up an entirely new universe!!! 🙂 Thank you so much for sharing this information.
This video changed my life! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing skills and allowing us to learn your techniques. Truly beautiful and just awesome!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I've been looking for instructions on how to do this that are easy to follow and clearly explained and you've done a wonderful job with both! I feel a lot less nervous about doing my project after watching your tutorial. Thank you! Im definitely a new subscriber :)
Thank you, what would you do if the piece you are doing is bigger and the papers are smaller, and you try to match the papers up, will there be a dent in between the papers? if so, how do you fix that? as I like this option but want to work on bigger pieces of furniture
brilliant idea I just paid a small fortune for napkins that had to be sent to me, I love the vintage look and its difficult to buy napkins with vintage themes, would this work with scrapbooking papers
Hello Iveta. I see you posted this 4 years ago but I just recently found your channel. I have a question please.... You are using what looks like glossy photo paper. You then applied a layer of Modge Podge over it. Did the Modge Podge leave the picture dull or did it get glossy again after it dried? I have Modge Podged a glossy before and it went dull. Just wondering what went wrong.
Hi! I hope you are still reading these comments since this is an older video. I am trying to decoupage with thick paper, like a thin cardboard (floral file folders). I want to put them on a newer style trunk that has a textured surface. Will this paper work for this surface, or will I need to use a thinner material? Thanks!
This is a great video. Could you please just confirm that the whole process can be done with office paper, minus the first "thinning step"? I am concerned the paper will bleed ink when I spray it
I would like to decoupage on wine glasses keeping the glass clear just with pictures can this be done and would it make them waterproof for handwashing. Thankyou in advance ❤
Can I use matte photo paper not gloss I think vintage images look far better in matte. Also can you suggest the actual weight of the beat paper for decoupage? Thank you so much Loved your videos.
That print is gorgeous. You must know me, I live in the moddle of nowhere, don't have a car, and the surrounding towns don't have anything in them, like a print shop, or something like that.
How about a glass coffee table .. I don’t like the plain glass .. I was to cover the whole glass table top with decoupage .. I need help how to do this thks
Thank you for the great information. I am about to decoupage scrapbook paper to a round wood plant stand and wanted to ask if I need to thin the paper or can I just wet both sides? Also, does the water make it stretch?
I loved the way you presented your video! I followed your directions exactly using an inkjet printer. My photo had red as the word in it and it bled a little. I don’t know why. I thinned out the glossy photo paper, used mod podge, and applied it to a wood cut out. Do you have any advice for me?
I do like this, would have expected the ink to run, pretty amazing and freeing. I have wee photo papers so I'll try that first. How I worked with inkjet printing was to cover the paper in yacht varnish and soak up residue with scrap paper, I done the same with tissue but this is great, thank you very much, looking forward to seeing the finish 🌸
Yes, I usually print smaller pictures on 6x4 or 5x7 photo paper so I don't end up wasting as much of it but I'm all out :D Thank you for your tips as well, it's really helpful to know other ways around it!
That’s really cool! I had no idea thicker paper (like personal pictures 😁) can be used! Thanks for showing us how to remove some of the thickness so the image can be used.
Thicker paper works well with furniture !! i used tissue thin napkins on a large martini glass, it was chancey trying to seal it (it wrinkled, but they worked themselves out and i helped when it was practically dry) it's beautiful !!
You must have been reading my mind!!! I have some gorgeous scrapbooking paper with script that I was wondering how I could use it on a piece of furniture. Love this!! Thank yiu!!
Love this thankyou so cute possibilities endless you have inspired me to do my old dresser as my cats have scratched it it looks not nice so this will transform it x
I am subscribing. I am really enjoying your videos. I have one question though. The plastic film you place on top of your image, that helps prevent from damaging the photo or support the adhesive better? This is awesome vid, thank you so much and I am hooked!
This is helpful to me, because I ran out of tissue paper for my gel plate printing and the art has mostly been put onto thicker paper. The thicker paper is fine when the print pulls as a nice, complete print or a suitable background print, but if it is only so-so, but suitable for layering and decoupage, the paper is just too thick. In the past, I have just split it at the corner of the card stock and pulled the back layer off, but that is risky. This seems less likely to rip through to the front, or become uneven. You should try gel plate printing! You can do photo transfers to the plate and then apply it to your work, or make your own original art and apply it to your objects! Love your channel!
What type of roller are you using and where do I get it? Thank you. Your work is gorgeous. I really love the way you did this and now I know a different way to adhere beautiful pictures too.
Learning so much from your videos Thank you ~ & I love your accent 💚 Question: would using "watered down" multi purpose Elmers white school glue work if I happen to run out of Mod Podge?
These days you can buy color laser printers - I just bought a super HP brand for like 600. You can get them down to 300 and other brands like Brother for less. It really depends on whether you sell your work and can recoup the cost and how many features you want. Features like auto duplex , wireless direct from mobile devices, security features, etc make them more expensive. But for craft only you can find a couple hundred and in terms of security... just unplug it - someone can’t access it if it’s not even plugged in. Same for your desktop. You will get the best results with Matt or flat finish printing paper. And if you want a professional durable item, you want it thin and Matt and then varnish in thin layers many times... until it’s like the image is embedded in the wood.
I've used regular printer paper with an inkjet printer for decoupaging on furniture. You have to remember to seal the ink with several coats of spray sealer.
I´m one of those who lives in the middle of nowhere and don´t have a laser printer, so I REALLY appreciate this video :) 💜 Thank you so MUCH for sharing this! Looking forward to see what you´ll do with the jewelry box :) 💜
How do you use this method but around a bauble? Trying to do a personalized Christmas ornament with a special picture. Any advice you can give would be very appreciated! Thanks! Ps. I LOVE WHAT YOU DO!!
I don't see how the tape will work on scrap book paper, which is all I have, it seems like I will tear the paper, but I am going to try it. Thank you so much.
As a new subscriber may I politely suggest that you use a solid color table top when doing your projects? Your napkins are so pretty and colorful, I think it’s more comfortable to the eye and less distracting if your table is plain. I hope not to offend, just a friendly suggestion from a viewer who has watched 100s of DIY videos. I am a fan of yours now. Thanks
I am a card /paper crafter also and wonder can I use not very thick paper I use for my cards? Sorry I got ahead of you and asked and then heard you say I could use scrapbooking paper...Silly me....Have a great day....pat
What an amazing way to thin out paper. I purchased posters that are so thick and did decoupage a dresser and a tray. The poster is obvious on the tray. I can't wait to do this technique on my next project.
SO helpful! Thank you very much! Can I decoupage an image onto the front of a natural wood cupboard without first painting? I want to keep the original look
Have you considered printing onto wax or parchment paper, then carefully without touching the ink, transfer the image to the wood, then sealing it? If you try that, tape only the top two corners to a regular weight paper. Otherwise it's likely to jam. And you may have to play with it for your printer. But prep your wood first with how want it (like stain), and measure where you want it, maybe mark the outline why tape. I haven't tried that but I want to, and I read a tutorial. Good luck with this!
Great video thank you...I see you mention Adobe stock photo ....would that be the only place you get your prints, or can you recommend anymore resources thanks
If the image we want to print has a transparent background, like a logo for example, how would it work? (so when it transfer, the white background will not be transferred)?
FYI. I use an inkjet printer with regular paper all the time and it's fine, you don't need to use photo paper or need a laser printer. Nice work.
You must either have a different kind of inkjet or you don’t seal paper? Inkjet printer ink bleeds if you apply glue/varnish/water on top

Wish I could have seen the finished jewelry box.
There is another Video showing This ~
Oh my gosh! This is wonderful! I paid $5 for ONE napkin last month. Thank you.
Would love to see your little jewelry box finished. Great idea removing excess paper with the tape. 💞
That video will be coming soon, It's all filmed I just need to voiceover it :) and thank you! :)
What kind of tape did you use? Would this work with the glossy paper from calendars you hang?
This video changed my life! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing skills and allowing us to learn your techniques. Truly beautiful and just awesome!!!
Aww that’s wonderful! I’m so glad that I was able to share something helpful! ❤️❤️❤️
you have saved me a fortune not having to buy napkins or rice paper anymore.
Yes, and we can have different designs, from everyone else.

Can we use cloth instead of tissue paper?

Perfect for using so many prints right there in the home. Thanks again. Just love your commentary while you give instructions.

Hello Iveta, you always come up with a great tutorial. Just what I needed for this moment. Thank you very much.
Have you ever used card stock I have some really pretty card stock that I'd like to use
Please tell me which paper is used for decoupage and glue on it and varnish
Thank you for the tip... that answered a question that has been on my mind when I think about decoupaging...

Hi there! I do a lot of decoupage. Absolutely love this technique. Thanks for a great video 😍
More grease to your elbow, how easy to get the materials
Could u use this method on Christmas cards?

It’s a craft rubber roller, I got it from eBay but hobby craft sells them too
Did you use an ink jet printer?
Learning so much from your videos
Thank you ~ & I love your accent 💚
Question: would using "watered down" multi purpose Elmers white school glue work if I happen to run out of Mod Podge?
Thank you! yep, Elmers glue would work just fine (as long as it dries transparent) :)

Brilliant!!!
Just what I was looking for.
Thank you. Great technique...👍😊
Great video!! Thanks!! Can I do this with wallpaper?
Thanks for doing this. I have an ink jet printer. I will probably be investing in some photopaper, and try this method.
Can you just use normal A4 paper? And skip the other step, or is that not recommended. Many thanks, love your work :)
Thank you
Thank you so much. I really enjoyed and learned from your wonderful video!
Thank you! I'm so happy that I was able to help! :)
I normally print mine on rice paper, cheaper and less work.
Hellooo can we use printed A4 sheets for decoupage
Oh thank you my dear! I have thinker paper and no rice paper so this video saved my project!!
Or....you can place a piece of copy papy on top of your photo paper secure it with tape & run it through. It will print on the copy paper. LOL
The point is that it will still bleed. You need photo papers protective coating for ink to not bleed 🙄
Hmm 🤔
Had no issues when I did it 😏
Don’t we have to put the picture upside down “image part “ down and white part up ?
wonderful video thank you, can this method be used on large furniture?
Love your work, great videos, very helpful. Does your ink cartridge not work out expensive.
Thank you, juls
Nice !!,but you could have printed on the top/bottom of paper and saved the photo paper !!
I can't help but noticed a South African accent might be wrong.
Do you use the same way when using raw cut wood or if I bought small squares from a store?
Great tips, thanks for sharing!
How do you finish off the edges. Mine always look so untidy
So I can do this with my pictures that are a glossy?
Great video! New subby right here! :0)
Very comprehensive video thank you.
Mais ficou bom . porque o yotobi não tradus???
Thank you, would love to see your other finished projects 😀
I love this great idea. Thanks for sharing your technique.

What kind of tape? And purpose of rape?
Not rape! Tape
I understand now

You can use your own photos !
If the image we want to print has a transparent background, like a logo for example, how would it work? (so when it transfer, the white background will not be transferred)?
If you don't take the whole backing off (you are only taking off one layer and it will still be white, so yes the white will show)
Great idea, thanks for sharing!
This demonstration was clear and perfect. Thank you, Margarita
😍
You are so good. Thank you for your help.
I love it. Thank you so much
