I dont understand anyones love for this game, all the points you are bringing up existed in all prior from soft games besides the true open world which for me actually is a bad thing and for me personally elden ring is the worst modern from soft game, would rate it even lower then DS2 which is hot garbage. Is Elden Ring the "best open world game" how you say at the very end? idk, probably? but one of the greatest games ever made? very far from it. Tried Elden Ring to the dlc release for the very first time and just quit after 25 hours and just went back and played DS3 and Sekiro again. Asked all my friends that hype this game what they like about the game they cant give me a single answer besides saying critics say its a 10/10 masterpiece and somehow they agree from most to all negatives i bring up about the game, i feel like people love from soft to much to admit its their worst product yet (from soft worst product still is better than most trash produced in the gaming landscape there is that)

For me it waters down the expierence and i prefer the intricate designed levels soulsborn is know for, the closest elden ring comes to that is what people i think call legecy dungeons? the ones i got to in my short time playing were pretty nice

I honestly understand your point, Elden Ring didn't bring new things to the table but it really mastered them. I like all fromsoft games
