Very slick set up! Thanks for sharing your idea with your fellow mad scientist duck fiends! Good luck in the ponds!
Good stuff. Gives me some ideas on making my own.
Awesome looking device
very slick! nice job!
Like the creative build. Using tent poles so it all folds in into a bad 👍. Good job man
Thanks Daniel
Great video
That's freaking cool!
Nice. I made my spreader bars out of junk arrows people threw in found arrow bucket at the local range.
I did the same thing man. Works great, strong and a lot cheaper than a motion duck spreader
Pretty good, one year we built one out of a windshield wiper motor, get one at the junk yard for mayb 5 bucks
Nice rig and spread. Can you list all of the parts you used in the description of your video?
any chance we can get a close up/ build video of it? Been planning to do the same thing with an old windshield wiper motor but an overview of what you did would be a great start.
This is awesome. Only thing I’d change is to be able to control the controller without the long length of wires in the water. Thing is cool though!
I think you might have to do a build video for us mechanically challenged people please.
YES to this! With a parts lists and links in the description as an added bonus! 😁
Or just let me buy one from you
What kind of pipe fitting did you use to connect the fiberglass rods?
Would like to see some details on your spreader bar system.
What bungee did you use on the other side of the decoys? Can't be too strong I'm assuming.
Hi perfect videos
Please help me with a parts list.
A video on how it all goes together. Thank you
How did you hook the rod coming down from the motor
Nice setup!! What tent poles or kit did you use and how long are they? aluminum or fiberglass? What size pipe fittings did you use? Thanks for the help.
What did you use as the motor to get the motion for the jerk string?

Hey man any chance you could post a video of the schematics? Specifically what did what you attached to the spinning part of the motor and how.
What is the bushing configuration on the arms? I built one like it and am having a friction issues. The weight of the arms extended puts it in a bind, so it won’t free swing when the bungee recoils.
Thanks, great idea
The bushing is aluminum with teflon washers on each side.
I found a couple abandoned hunting blinds on public ground. I took the tent stakes. How did you hook the ducks to the ends?
Thank you
zip ties decoy line and fishing swivels
Any chance you can help me out on a set of plans. I’m really wanting to build one but not understanding how you attached the arms to the motor or what the use of the smaller arm that helps turn the bigger arm from time to time is for or how everything is attached. Been pulling a jerk sting for 3 hours this morning and my arm is about to fall off.
You ever figure out how to attach the shaft? I’m running into the same issues.
Can you tell me how you made the arms and pivot points. This is a great idea. I just ordered the motor and dial.
See my last reply
What did you use to attach to the motor shaft? I’ve got about a 2 inch shaft coming out of my motor. Did you get a coupler and extend the shaft or did you have a sleeve with a set screw that you slid onto the motor shaft? Any links would be appreciated. Thanks
drilled out a piece of solid bar to slip over the motor shaft and drilled and tapped a set screw to hold on to the motor shaft
I took a 3/4" aluminum rod, drilled both ends with a 5/16" drill bit, taped one end to 3/8"-16 thread to connect the lower rotating arms and taped the other end of the rod to 3/8"-24 thread to match an adapter I found on Amazon the goes from 8mm motor shaft size to 3/8" thread. @@thesocalhunter5591
What motor is that
I can’t find the link to buy the motor
Need to know exactly which 12v gear you got on Amazon. I’m replacing the motor on my Auto Jerk system. Their replacement was $180 !!
What control switch did you use?

This thing is awesome! Why use the short drive arm with the pin to push the two free arms vs just one pivot point and the drive shaft attached to one of the arms itself? Been trying to figure out if it changes how they move.
Tried it first and it was a smooth pull both directions, by addind the second arm with the free spinning shaft with the drive arm made the decoys get a whip motion which made more ripples on the water
@@thesocalhunter5591 that makes sense! I’m working on using a linear drive actuator to make some feeders if I can figure out a way to do more than a pair at a time. Appreciate the video this was a great idea!
@@thesocalhunter5591 any tips on where to find the cross clamp for the square tubing? I’ve struck out trying to find one that isn’t aluminum
@@channingcorrea541 McMaster Carr
any chance you have the link? I cant find the cross clamp for square tubing to save my life.

This is pretty cool. What is the drive shaft made of that connects the motor to the jerk arms? Is it attached with a coupler?
3/4" solid steel shaft drilled 8mm to slip over motor shaft then drilled and tapped a 1/8" set screw to secure against the flat spot on motor shaft.
@@thesocalhunter5591 I agree with Mary Standiford below ...... "I think you might have to do a build video for us mechanically challenged people please."
With a bonus, a parts list and links in the description 😁
You should build another one, you can never have too much movement in your spread 😁
Please help us!
Outstanding! Question regarding the wiring: Do you have the negative wire from the battery, the switch, and the motor joined as one connection at the battery box? (wire nut?)
yes
@@thesocalhunter5591 thank you. One more question: what specifically did you use to join the tent rods and where did you get them?
@@user-wb3ep9vt4t I used plastic tube connectors from mcmaster carr
@@thesocalhunter5591 thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to answer my questions. Awesome set-up. I appreciate the video, the idea, and the input. Take care.
Drop some links to the items if you could
Nice rig! What kind of pipe fitting is that? Some kinda of 4 way t-fitting?
it a cross tube connector
What size 4 way hose connector did you use?
how long is the stem between the motor and the arm?
arm length/decoy travel on the pull motion?
I'm toying with the idea of a single arm with a ring that rotates 360 to connect the line to.
thoughts?
thanks!
Shaft is 6 inches long, arms are 20 inches long
I saw the flat bar arms are 20 inches. What’s their width and thickness? Wanna make sure I have enough rigidity but not too heavy
1"x1/4" aluminum
@@thesocalhunter5591 whole thing aluminum?
@@cmrock123456 no just the arms
how long does the battery last, between charges?
A full day hunting
what was the dimension of the parts
How long is the piece that goes over the motor shaft?
6 inch
I hate to keep asking question but I really like your set up. Are the two-arms on bottom of shaft welded or bolted?
@@jimholland2022 bolted
What type of battery did you use?
12v6ah
How is the shaft of the motor attached too?
stub shaft slip fit over motor shaft and secures with set screws
@@thesocalhunter5591can you elaborate on how the hollow tubing and shaft are assembled?
How long does that battery last?
4 to 8 hours depending on the speed
How long are the rotating arms?
2o inches
@@thesocalhunter5591 awesome... thanks
Please. I’m back. Again. I need the how to create video 😂
I like the looks of your rig can you explain about the bolting of the arms do they have bushing. explain little bit about small arm. Any help will be appreciated.
Yes there is a bushing between the two moving arms and the bottom drive arm is mounted solid to drive shaft. Hope that helps.

I’ve tried using this switch you provided and I can’t wire it correctly and chance you could explain it for me.
The wiring instructions are included in the description on Amazon. I just finished building mine and the instructions on Amazon are very clear and easy to follow.
@@user-wb3ep9vt4t hmmm… for some reason it doesn’t work when I follow those instructions. Maybe I have a faulty switch.
@@cmrock123456 Maybe it is faulty. I wired mine yesterday per those instructions and it works great. On the other hand, I really don't see a need for a variable speed switch. Plain on / off switch would work fine in my opinion.
What’s the motor you got on Amazon

When you have time, could you put the links down on the motor and switch from amazon??
Mark look at my replies in the comments i posted links for both
Any chance you would make another one and sell it?
Unfortunatly I wouldnt be able to sell it for less $ than you can already buy similiar designs for without me making them in mass production only because I value my time
Hi I'm in Australia and am trying to sorce a motor could you send me the info on the one you bought. Anthony
