When I was doing a lot of duck hunting 15 years ago, mojo made a “mallard machine.” It worked great but was a lot to setup. It used 4 decoys to float a trolling motor head. Then had a foot switch to turn on/off when birds were working. The birds loved it. But, not too fun when your dog gets into it and having 100ft of cord and having to haul a big battery. Would make the water practically boil.

Question....do you know of any methods for setting duck decoys without having to bring waders (besides the fishing pole method)? I have to walk in a good ways to get to my spot, and im carrying everything in a backpack. Will teal decoys work during mallard season? Because they are smaller, I can get more into the backpack, or carry them in
Hey bud. Buy a jet sled. U can load all your gear in them and it’s super easy once in water. I drag mine with my atv to my spot then wad in with 10 plus mallards gun and pack. Jet sled way to go. Good luck
@@MichaelGreen-ip7qq thanks for the tip. I have looked at the sled option. If I could pull it behind the atv and get on location, that would be the way id go for sure too. But the walk in where im going is thru a lot of mesquite, tumbleweed piles, and the trail is narrow going thru, over brush piles, etc. Once down at the waterline, it opens back up though.
Ok... that things awesome! I'd love to get a pair of them. I am normally leery of motion decoys because they always look SO fake. That thing looks ridiculous!!! It's as real as the decoys you hang from it. Super cool.

I don't even use my spinners any more they just don't work here on public land .
Same I haven’t used them all year and am 7/7 right now without getting skunked on public. And all the birds we have shot have been in the decoys

They work three places. 1. When hunting teal
2. Field hunting ducks
3. The Midwest or Canada where ducks have no brain

You know what would suck? If your dog is retrieving a duck and it swims into that propeller. Definitely needs some type of guard around it

From their site it says knee to thigh deep. To be sure I'd go to their site and use the contact us link to shoot them that question. Maybe they have extra cables you can add to it or something like that or even a custom length of cable.
Our system runs in knee to chest deep water. That being said, we have used it in 20ft water by attaching a 2nd weight to the battery box. The standard mallard decoys are strong enough to suspend the box under the water.

Early morning never use a spinner but late morning to afternoon I run mine and I can tell it makes a difference once the pressure is relieved after everyone in the morning leaves those spinners become 10x more effective. If I had an extra 500 bucks laying around I could 100% buy this and the. Only take this a couple floaters and my one spinner and be golden

thing is awesome, but unfortunately for me in idaho most my waterfowl hunts are in a river with flow. so this would work. and the lake and ponds usually freeze by dec. so the cost for this to only be able to use it for maybe half the season is way to much $$
I would be worried about a dog getting tangled in it and hitting the prop. A remote on/off switch would be great

Great idea ,BUT iv'e been using a better system for years, and so simple. Insert two brass screws on the side of the decoys; one above the other, above the waterline and hot glue a vane 1/12"x 2" high, colored to match their colors. If you alternate the side, when the wind they move in different directions instead of just sitting and bobbing.
But motion is needed on the low wind days
And those would be just sitting there not moving. I mean great idea for wind, but many days we hunt, it's zero wind.
@@mchenryjeremyIv'e also found the point to rig the lines to teal decoys;with trial and error; so again they move about more naturally. Also made a stainless wire holder attached to a decoy to hold two hanging spinning wings (works a treat) Been a fowler for 50 years and still looking to rig decoys better.

quickcoy has its set backs, not great in current or if hunting weedy areas. otherwise it works great

Do not buy! Bought 2 both boxes leaked. Battery was shot after one hunt. Motor is ridiculously loud. So many cons and no pros. A jerk rig for $20 is way more reliable. And this is a tangled up mess everytime. Good sales pitch though, what did they pay? And the customer service was not great.
