This is an old video; but I’m hoping you still have this bike! It’s so refreshing to see a non Harley, and it’s just as refreshing to see a bike that’s a different color other than black. Seems 98% of all bikes on the road are straight black. I like black but it’s nice to see a change up. Mine is mostly silver metallic with a little black. Great job on the install. Even if it was 5 years ago. Ha.
Thank you for posting this! I got some risers that didn’t work because I got the wrong size. So mini’s are going to be it for me as I love my scout but don’t like being hunched over. So here goes: Where did you get them? How tall (8, 10, or 12)? And how thick are the bars? Thank you!
Hair spray will work for the left grip. And in the future you can get it back off, vs the super glue will most likely require cutting it off. Lastly, any one doing this mod should seriously consider running the wiring inside the bars, so much more of a cleaner look.
Im just about to fit my ape bars to Scout, how does the hairspray vs glue work?,..no chance of it sliding off at any stage? also would like to see a vid of someone running wires inside the bars, how easy is that? does that involve drilling holes in bars? I agree the wires hanging out from the bars is not a good look! I notice they only supply 2 zip ties with new bars so maybe there is not enough slack to put zip ties in the 2 holes further up and pull the wires in snug to bars at least.
Thank you sir, Good video and nice work ! I’m installing FMB choppers does on mine this week . I’m super excited, and this video helps a lot . Your bike looks stellar as well 😎👍
Hey man next time u should add everything that u do if u are doing these type of videos I had to buy a rod to take those bolts out also have details of info
Hey Looking into putting some 10-12" apes on my Indian Scout (non-bobber). Did you have to get longer cables or were the stock ones long enough to reach?
My left control switch is too high on this mini-ape hanger and when I try to use the turn lights I press the horn... It's a bit dissapointing not to be able to rotate it :(Do you have any piece of advice? Of course, by not lowing the handlebar because it's in a comfortable position for me. And the clutch cable remains very strained. Thanks!
+Juliabel Only thing I can think of is to lower the handlebar slightly, or adjust the angle of the levers. Everything is a trade off, but if you're comfortable, just give yourself time to get used to it.
@@SpinnerEV thanks getting a scout in March and the first upgrade is bars, extended controls, and saddle bags. Getting the intake and exhaust next summer.
A 6mm Allen wrench with a T handle, or a long handled ratchet with the 6mm hex bit, maybe some WD40... I’m pretty sure those bolts have loctite on them from the factory. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
for someone not into working on bikes you've got an excellent presentation form. very well done thx.
+sqd8r thanks. Greatly appreciated

camera work and lighting, installation you did a good job and your wife allowed you to bring the cycle inside !!! I tip my hat to her.
Awesome job!! I’m waiting on my mini apes to come in and then making the switch at home, thanks to you! 👍🏼
Fantastic video. I think I am going to put mini's on my scout after watching this. Thank you for posting.
I can’t believe you were able to break those bolts with that little Allen key set! Hopefully you torqued them to spec later
Very cool and in-depth video, makes me want to change my handlebars
Man, super helpful video. didn't have to refer to the instructions once. Thanks!!!
+John Emra thanks, glad to be of service
I have aftermarket bars that are the same size so now I know what I'm getting into. Great video
Easy to follow! Thanks for the video. Just put some on mine

Great amount of information and details on the process of installation. very helpful video
great looking bike nice job
Well done!
My I ask which seat that is?
In this video, I believe it’s the stock seat from 2016. I did upgrade to a Corbin solo saddle eventually. It was better.
@@SpinnerEV Thank you.
Anyone looking to do this, I highly recommend you put the throttle control assembly onto the bars and THEN clamp the bars, so much easier.
Cool video, will be doing the exact same thing this weekend, so thank you for the tutorial 🙂
Nice video! I’m buying the 10” mini apes, what is the super glue you used?
Thank you sir,
Good video and nice work !

Your video helped me a bunch today! I wanted to say thank you !!!!
Nice video sir. Good views, great detail in explanation.
+Austin Quezada thanks
Just a suggestion but why didn't you put controls on bars then mount onto bike?
I just followed the OEM instructions.
Gotcha I'm fixing to change mine on my sporty by the way luv the color of your scout

High quality video, thanks!
+fendermon thanks!
Great vid. Looking to switch mine
I would put some more zip ties on it just to clean it up a bit. Great video and great job for your first time.
Thanks

Appreciate this video, helped me a ton being a motorcycle virgin.

Nice video man! I really appreciate your content
+Morgan Wetz Thanks!
+SpinnerDaj you are welcome man
I really like your new ape hanger/handlebar. please kindly advise me its specification. height=? center width=? width=? diameter=? thanks.
+Vinh TQ I used the oem bars. They're 10 inch mini apes. Here's the link store.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/accessories/handlebars/2880904-410/
thank so much +SpinnerDaj
Its my idea or the scout have the Honda fury exahust
Dwight schroot got a motorcycle
Hey Looking into putting some 10-12" apes on my Indian Scout (non-bobber). Did you have to get longer cables or were the stock ones long enough to reach?
The oem mini apes are 10” according to the Indian website. The stock cables worked with mine. If you go bigger, you’ll probably need longer cables.

Did you reuse the stock grips?
Yes I did
@@SpinnerEV thanks getting a scout in March and the first upgrade is bars, extended controls, and saddle bags. Getting the intake and exhaust next summer.
Sounds like a plan. It’s a great bike, and there’s nothing like having it fit correctly
Hey got my mini apes having trouble taking off the center screws where the speedometer is any suggestions
Just get enough leverage. They’re on pretty tight, but they will unscrew eventually.
Ok that doesn't help is there some other tool that I can use
A 6mm Allen wrench with a T handle, or a long handled ratchet with the 6mm hex bit, maybe some WD40... I’m pretty sure those bolts have loctite on them from the factory. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
Does your scout have abs breaks?
It probably doesn't, mini apes require longer cables.
Are the bars 1” or 7/8”?
1" at the clamps. then tapers to 7/8" at the handles.
Want to sell those stock bars you took off?
Would you want to sell your black bars? i would buy them! let me know.
I don’t have them any more. I traded the bike in a couple of years ago and put the stock bars back on.
Take the damn warning sticker off your tank.
+Jacob V I did about 6 months ago
Saying your not a mechanic is all fine but some advise from a mechanic. never use a cresent wrench.
