I’m confused….the original box took in air from over the radiator and the top…. Only one filter. Should there be a filter for the air intake at the frame? Looks like this filter is aimed at the frame hole.
Hello. I just got my Hurican a few days ago and I'm about to do the install. I just want to make sure of something first. Is the silicone band that came with it supposed to go around were the bulb meets the bike or where the filter meets the bulb?
Yes. If you watch a newer video "Install dual intake" it shows you how to remove the stock intake without using a jack. You only remove one frame bar. Once the stock intake has been removed the new "Screaming Scout" goes in and out without removing the frame bars. You still have to remove the tank but that is on Indian.
You should clean the K&N filter 1-3 times a year. It depends on your environment. Once it becomes grey looking it is time to clean. It is not easy to inspect the filter on the Scout so I would check it after 3 or 4 months and clean and recharge it. This will give yo an idea how long to wait next time. A dirty K&N still breathes better than most paper filters after the begin to get dirty.
This intake had been replaced with the "Hurican" intake which even better. We are in the process of getting it integrated into package deals including new MAPS. Currently you have to have your bike tuned once the new equipment is installed or you can use our fuel tuner units that go on the bike and don't require new tuning.
I noticed the EJK controller there a Nice bit of Kit
I want to know about the power gain.
How tight do you have to tighten the screws again? so the four screws of the frame strut?

Did you tune it yourself or take it to a shop? If so, what software did you use?
What is the size of the tank bolt? Working with a limited shop and can only bring a few socket wrench sizes. Thanks!
Can this intake be removed and spark plugs accessed without removing the frame sections?

Great info, and thanks for the quick response!
How often do you need to clean the air filter?

This replace will need a remap of the motorcycle? Does it have a code to put into the scanner for remap? BG

Most every bolt on the Indians are 6, 8, or 10 mm. Most are hex and a few are Allen socket.
