Team Meander for sure. Uk 9 (though my AR8s are a 8.5 and pretty loose so maybe an 8) Love the boots, just waiting on a restock to get a pair of razorbacks and barefoot rangers. Break-in was rough though, maybe consider a heel liner in the AR8s? The seam cut my heels for weeks till it wore a bit and broke in. Now they have broken in though, wow they are so good.
Good day @dzzope CONGRATULATIONS on winning a pair of Jim Green Moc Toe Boots in our giveaway! We loved your support on our latest video, and we can't wait to see you rocking those boots. To claim your prize, please shoot an email to jason@jimgreenfootwear.co.za who will be happy to assist in getting those boots on their way to you for the journey's ahead 🐸🥾
Team Meander! Love the traditional moccasin build with the modern comfort of a padded collar!! Size 8.5 and I'd love to rock a pair of these around the job site everyday.
Team Workhorse here. Ive been a Red Wing 877 8 inch moc toe guy, but those look great and I'd love to try them. Have your Stockman in size 14. Im a US 14. Rock on JG!
I personally have a pair of Russells, the Zephyr. To be completely honest, yes, they are quite overpriced and expensive. However, to my knowledge (specifically speaking about the Zephyr) there is no other boot out there with a similar spec, look or feel, it is truly a unique experience no other boot will give you and they are an absolute work of art. With that said, I would advocate for yourself still giving Russells a chance if you are a true moc enthusiast, but only if you are looking at their "unique models" (think the Zephyr or the PH), since you wont find boots like them anywhere else. If your attention is set to the Backcountry or similars, definitely wait for the JG mocs, you will be getting essentially the same boot for probably 1/3 of the price.
@@sebastianfuenzalida3144 Thanks for the input. I like the PH, but was considering the backcountry- specifically for the double vamp, water resistant construction. The only reason I hadn't already ordered them was they had none in stock and I didn't feel like waiting for the production period. Seeing how they are made I don't think they are particularly overpriced.
@@TommyNitro I have 2 pairs of Russell's. Yes they are the most expensive boots I own in a pure stock config. The quality and comfort is there. Maybe not $750 worth, but they are my boot equivalent to Adidas Boost comfort level. I think the JG Meander is gonna put a hurt on ANY moc toe that is below the $500 price point. Especially if they allow customization once it comes out. Finally bought my first pair of JG's to get my size down in the STC'.
Very different products. And cost of manufacture is very different. Save up and buy one Russel Moccasin and one Jim Green. You'll definitely appreciate them both.
I would be team work horse 🐎 definitely. I've only had about a week on my Veg Tan Numzaan , but I would LOVE a moc toe! I consider myself a normal 13D but in custom boots I really struggle with the toe box width. I think it's just the shape of the last. Happy New Year everyone!
Definitely team workhorse, they look absolutely fantastic. I’m a size US11. I’ve been looking for a long time for a boot like this, it’s great to know that a trusted company are making them. I’ve definitely got to get them!!!
Team workhorse:). US 12.5. I’be just began my journey into natural toe box and have always love moc toes, but have been dismayed that no one is making a heritage moc toe with anatomically correct proportions. UNTIL NOW! Can’t wait to get my feet into some!
US size 10. The Meander is the way to go. Green laces. That's Jim Green. Without, it doesn't stand out. It's like Dr. Margins yellow stitches. You have to have green laces.
Team Meander. US size 9. Love seeing how detailed and dedicated you are to your craft. I may buy a pair of Meander boots when they come out, however I'd prefer the tyre sole and not the Oringo when the time comes.
I’m team workhorse, and a size US11. I ABSOLUTELY LIVE THIS. I’ve been searching for moccasin boot for ages and I’m more than happy to hear that one of my all time brands are making one!!
I really love this type of videos. Please keep doing them. The Workhorse would be my choice, but I think you made the right decision to make both option available. I would love to have a size UK 14. Thank you!
Jim Green taking the boot world by storm! You guys are killing it. Already got my African troopers. That meander looks awesome but both are really cool. US Size 14. Fingers crossed!
As others have mentioned, I love the true moccasin construction. I like the aesthetics of the Meander more with its padded collar and less aggressive outsole, but currently the workhorse would fit into my lineup better as a work boot. My overall vote would be the Meander. US size 10.5.
I’m Team Workhorse. I’m a size us11 and have been really into your company for a while now. I’m Currently saving up to buy my first pair so this would be a blessing if it were to happen!
I'm definitely a fan of the workhorse. I think the pull loop was a good idea and that the tyre wedge is a great fit for the style! Uk size 12. Would love to have a workhorse as my 4th pair of JGs!
EishI! Jim Green you really go the extra mile in the development of your products including Directors wearing them themselves. Unheard of in most companies. I would go for the Meander boot in a UK 6,5
Team Meander!! Love the oringo in the African Ranger in a US 9, so a moc toe version of that is awesome to switch between the two being familiar outsoles and even padded collar. The leather lining is an excellent touch which I'm glad you added.
These are exactly what I’ve been looking and waiting for. I’m definitely team workhorse and am a size US11. Absolutely love these and it would truly be a blessing if I could get my hands on these, especially at this moment in my life 🙏 keep doing what your doing, bless you guys
Team Meander! US size 6.5. I absolutely love that you guys are bringing genuine moc construction back, and they look sharp! Always excited to see what you're cooking up.
(Us size 9) I like the look of the Meander better but that might be because of the color more the pattern it’s hard to tell which one is better looking without seeing them with the same leather. But both are good looking boots!
I am Team Workhorse in a size 10 US size. That's the perfect footwear for the dirty, slippery floors of strip clubs and jack shacks. The boot needs green laces.
Team Workhorse! I’m incredibly happy to see these in the STC last. Working on my feet 13 hours a day. They would be the perfect companion. And actually I’m happier to have a hand cut prototype on my feet 😂 Please I’m a size 14 UK. Great job!
Who wouldn't love a pair of thick leather socks with rugged soles to brave the outdoors?!? Sample #2 is my favorite rendition, but I'm team Meander (UK size 9.5)! I love the fact that those who produced moc toe boots at Jim Green, 20 years ago, are still working at the factory, today. This is a testament to how Jim Green treats their employees!
I fell in love with model #7, but I’m definitely team Meander! Struggled with my wide foot my whole life and those look like a Godsend. Remind me of Russell Moccasins. I’d be eternally grateful for a US size 9.5! 🙏
@ it’s a struggle, brother I’m size 9 EE, and sometimes even that’s too tight… but I’ve heard that classic moccasin constructed boots stretch mold to your foot in the toe box. Would love to give them a try.
@@snoop_kitten4205 11 to 12 EE here depending on the last. Not only wide...but got a couple of freaky poorly healed broken toes that make finding shoes and boots, especially steel toes, SUPER HARD. Jim Green is one of the few that fit perfect out of the box even with my freaky feet!!!
I'm team Meander any day! The padded collar makes them look great for when you wrap the shoes laces all the way around the boot. I would change the shoes laces to camouflage colour for slightly more pop in colour. Am size UK7.
I don't think so. They have been under so much pressure to get the Rose Anvil and Carl Muralski boots out that this will probably get attention in 2025. I am sure a few people will be very happy when the winners are announced.
I'd have to go with team Meander on this one for the simple reason that its more recognisable as a JG boot. Tough choice here since both look so good but one thing that i really love is that you incorporated the pulling loops on back. I'm a UK size 9. All the best.
Definitely like the look of the Workhorse better but love some of the features the Meander has. Will be doing some customization when it becomes available. Size 8.5 US. Fingers crossed I can land a pair early and use them during the winter months. Keep up the incredible work.
You are correct, the white/beige sole is quite common in America. I love the white stitching with the beige sole that you all put together, very clean. In addition, the extra lining and leather midsole is really what sells me on these boots. It really checks all the possible boxes yet stays seemingly traditional in nature.
Team workhorse! I love the workhorse, classic color scheme of tan top design. Size 13 UK (14 US) I would love to win a pair as I am a staunch supporter of Jim Green!

Meander look like great boots to wear all day on multi activities. Always a struggle to find boots I can travel with that can be worn no matter what. That said work boots that look that good are a rarity. UK size 11.
Getting ready to buy a pair of AR in fudge...but also super excited about the 719s coming next year! I would love a pair of the Meander boots size 11. Would be my first moc!! Thanks to the entire team for such a thorough R &D to ensure a terrrific product!
Team workhorse because a steel shank is a must for me but honestly both look really great. Just ordered a pair of your Rugged African Troopers' as well and I'm consistently impressed with your product designs. US size 8.5
Team Meander 💪They look mature and and fit the bill for a comfortable yet capable casual boot. I just Got my US size 11 Bronco Numzaans and the tyre wedge sole is a beast for all the tough stuff.
I’m so happy to see a South African company taking a true moc toe boot design and production seriously! I probably walk more miles per year in truly tough conditions than most people do in their whole lives, and thus I wear through boots at a rate of knots. With most of my clientele being American citizens, and me doing my homework too, the obvious suggestions for solutions have been the big names like Russell’s and Gokey’s too. I have a few moc boots at the moment that I rotate between. I personally just prefer the feel and wear of a moc toe boot for all of my work in the mountains and bush, and I’d be even happier to support a local (South African) brand as well as not have to worry about sizing issues when ordering online or on the phone with the big US names mentioned before. And let’s be real too, the cost for us South Africans when purchasing these US boots with added shipping costs is not petty cash for us either. Both boots look like they have merit and strong points to hold them in good stead - I like aspects of both variants. I seem to lean more towards the Meander, and I seem to prefer the tyre wedge sole on it. My vote would be Team Meander, and I am a UK size 9. Thank you Jim Green. Ps, my first ‘real’ hunting boots my father bought for me as a boy were Jim Greens - I think I was around 9 years of age. I still have the many photos out hunting with those boots as memories. I felt like a true hunter from that day onwards. I look forward to the progress and to support something proudly local. Thank you, Chris.
The meander is an absolute dream, they combine the ruggedness of the Jim Green brand and the traditional way of the moccaisains! I am an UK 9. PS: I absolute love the way Jim Green supports the rangers in South Africa. I wear my African Ranger Barefoot with such a joy and they are the only boots where my feet don‘t hurt when I‘m working in the feld. I would love to try other shoes!
Honestly, I love both of these boots, and probably will buy both. I am an electrician and this side of me is team Workhorse, however, the hiker and hunter in me is team Meander. I already own African Rangers and Numzaans, and I would proudly wear either of these moc toes! Size 9.5 or 10 US. Thanks, keep up the good work!
With the Meander I would definitely prefer a lug or tyre wedge sole over the oringo, I think the added traction is very necessary in slick grass and snow
Team meander (US size 11) for me. I do a lot of hiking and that construction would do great. I recently got into leather boots and I’m so glad JG decided to capitalized on a whole in the market which is true moccasins, 99% of moc toes are fake even from really renound brands like Red wing or the PNW brands. Not only does the meander boot seem super functional but it would make for a unique piece at the great JG price.
Lekka Jim Green. I am both teams Meander and Workhorse. I love them both. I take my Jim Green's in a size 7.5 UK. Thanks. I really enjoy your youtube chanel and love your boots.
I'd go team workhorse. I love that it has that traditional moc toe work boot look but is constructed like an actual moccasin. I'm also a big fan of how that tire wedge sole looks, it seems like it should offer plenty of grip for rugged use. I'm a size 11 US.
I’m team workhorse boot. US size 9.5. But I would definitely order one or both. If I would custom order a pair I would order the Workhorse but with a lug sole so it would have a regular separate heal. Awesome boots y’all have certainly knocked this ball out of the ballpark! Home run sure!
I am team Meander in size 8 (US). As a school safety officer here in the Northeast, I am in & out of the building frequently in all kinds of weather. These would be perfect for my everyday shoes! Thank you for your work on these.
Team meander!!! Size 8 USA. I’ve gotten a lot of jim green boots rangers, razor back, and the new ones made with rose anvil! Love supporting what you guys do! Sky is the limit
Team Meander, but both look great! Size 10.5, but I go with 11 of I have to. I need a wide toe box, so sometimes 11 works better if there are no width options.
Loving the Workhorse. Seeing it all come together with the leather midsole and steel shank was awesome.Actual mocassin construction was an unexpected big plus too! I am US Size 10
Im Team Meander, the more modern looking padded collar with the classic look of the moc-toe stich makes it is a great looking boot. I can't deny that the Workhorse is a amazing option too! I'm US-10.5, but i can make bigger work
Team meander! (US size 12), My numzaams have done extremely well after being worn constantly for months! They've been a real constant for when my bike breaks or I cant get a ride home. Thank you guys for all the charity work you have done and I believe in y'all to keep going! Hope yall have a nice day!
I'm Team Meander and a US Size 9.5. I love how these boots look and I'd love to use them for hiking! I can tell by all of the hard work Jim Green team has put into these boots that they'll be a smash hit as soon as they're available!
US Size 9. Team Meander for me.. I think the black or brown soles plus leather midsole looks really nice. I'm excited for this release and have been wanting a traditional moccasin boot. I don't have a pair because I can't justify $750 on a pair of Russels! TYTYTY.
Team Workhorse! The meander looks like an excellent boot but the steel shank makes a huge difference when you're on a ladder all day. Us size 8 or EU 42.
Team Meander!!! Size 9. I love seeing how hard you guys work to develop top tier boots! I work outdoors and am also an avid hiker. You guys make THE BEST boots for everything I do hands down! Thank you for all your hard work!
uk 11, when the African Ranger first came to Germany, i got one and still love it for hiking through the forrest. Also got Razorbacks for my brother and father for Christmas. In Germany you cant get any Boots that can compare. Great Value!
Love that you guys are making these boots in true moccasin construction! It's awesome to see traditional shoemaking being kept alive! I'm a US size 8 and team workhorse.
Looking forward to trying the Meander in the Spring when it becomes available. Best of luck with the new machinery arriving on time, or even earlier than expected!
YES! I've been looking forward to your take on the Moc Toe, and these look outstanding. Workhorses in US 11 would make a fine addition to my Barefoot African Rangers and Shoelies. Keep up the great work!
These look incredible and I'm so relieved that it's traditional moccasin construction! Team Meander all day! (although maybe I'll go after the workhorse a few years down the line) I'm size 9.5 US on the Brannock. Sample #1 is super unique but the pale green laces on Sample #7 really catches the eye.
Meander size US12, will definitely be a perfect fit while meandering through life's twists and turns. Workhorse would have been a perfect one, but it will easily get dirty while I meander on foot here in Zimbabwe.
I'm on team Workhorse and a UK size 8. I have been wearing Jim Greens for 10 years and they have never let me down. Superior construction, brilliant customer service when it comes to re-soling. I work in construction and they can really take a beating every day of the week. Keep up the great work guys 👌🏻💪🏻
Team Meander here! The bronco leather looks great with the black outsole! I got a pair of numzaan and love them and ordered a pair of AR with leather midsole. UK 8. Thank you!
Team Meander for sure. Uk 9 (though my AR8s are a 8.5 and pretty loose so maybe an 8)
Love the boots, just waiting on a restock to get a pair of razorbacks and barefoot rangers.
Break-in was rough though, maybe consider a heel liner in the AR8s? The seam cut my heels for weeks till it wore a bit and broke in.

Thank you,
Chris.
I’m team workhorse in a size 9.5 US. I think the sole looks great with the beige tyre sole. Very excited for these to drop next year. 👍
Meander is the best looking boot on the table. The dark brown looks great too! US size 12.5
I'm a big fan of the Meander boot. Very excited for the release of both of these! US size 10
I'm team Meander but both look awesome (not a big fan of the white sole, but everyones taste is different). My size is UK 8.
I am team Meander in size 8 (US). As a school safety officer here in the Northeast, I am in & out of the building frequently in all kinds of weather. These would be perfect for my everyday shoes! Thank you for your work on these.
Meander boot looks great, and I love seeing you guys branch out in your boot designs. US size 11
Meander is my vote. (13 US)
But the workhorse is really nice, I love the white stitching and profile.
Meander! But I prefer the sole from the Workhorse. I'll probably end up with both . . . a size 11 US would help me out!
I'm US-10.5, but i can make bigger work
I have become a fan of the Jim Green boots, they are quality footwear at a great price. US 11 Workhorse would be my choice.
Team meander! (US size 12),
My numzaams have done extremely well after being worn constantly for months! They've been a real constant for when my bike breaks or I cant get a ride home. Thank you guys for all the charity work you have done and I believe in y'all to keep going!
Hope yall have a nice day!
I am a team workhorse. It’s refreshing to see a true moccasin construction that can be worn to the worksite. I am a US size 8.5.
Team Meander, but the Workhorse looks very very good too (and is better suited for the workshop). I wear a EU 43.
Very proud to have a South African company taking on the established names in the boot world. Love this guys 👏 Workhorse all the way, 10 UK!
Team meander! But both have their place, so awesome to see a real moccasin boot with great leather! US Size 12!
Honestly I'd love either but I think I'd prefer the meander, us size 9.5, very cool to see a true moccasin construction, impressive stuff
Love that you guys are making these boots in true moccasin construction! It's awesome to see traditional shoemaking being kept alive! I'm a US size 8 and team workhorse.
US 10 Meander. It looks fantastic, even better with the different options you offer. Good luck with your project.
Both are lit, but would give slight edge to the South African native Meander boot. I'm size UK 13.
I'm team workhorse, love MOC toe construction and appreciate your effort and research!! Awesome job! My size US 10.5
I didnt know i could like your company more than i already do
These look incredible and I'm so relieved that it's traditional moccasin construction! Team Meander all day! (although maybe I'll go after the workhorse a few years down the line) I'm size 9.5 US on the Brannock. Sample #1 is super unique but the pale green laces on Sample #7 really catches the eye.
US size 12. The Meander is the only way to go. Green laces are maditory
I’m team meander, but I love the color way of the workhorse so I love both ! I’m a US12. Can’t wait to nab a pair eventually!
Team work horse. USA size 9.
These look great looking forward to see the future of moc toes at Jim green
UK 8. Thank you!
