Team workhorse! I love the workhorse, classic color scheme of tan top design. Size 13 UK (14 US) I would love to win a pair as I am a staunch supporter of Jim Green!
Good day @leebenjamin3184 CONGRATULATIONS on winning a pair of Jim Green Moc Toe Boots in our giveaway! We loved your support on our latest video, and we can't wait to see you rocking those boots. To claim your prize, please shoot an email to jason@jimgreenfootwear.co.za who will be happy to assist in getting those boots on their way to you for the journey's ahead 🐸🥾
US size 10. The Meander is the way to go. Green laces. That's Jim Green. Without, it doesn't stand out. It's like Dr. Margins yellow stitches. You have to have green laces.
I really love this type of videos. Please keep doing them. The Workhorse would be my choice, but I think you made the right decision to make both option available. I would love to have a size UK 14. Thank you!
Definitely team workhorse, they look absolutely fantastic. I’m a size US11. I’ve been looking for a long time for a boot like this, it’s great to know that a trusted company are making them. I’ve definitely got to get them!!!
I am team workhorse uk 7. Really need a pair of Jim greens. I’ve been dying to order a pair but have been torn between which style. Would really love a workhorse in the future. It looks really good. I’m South African and so proud of jim green.
I’m team workhorse, and a size US11. I ABSOLUTELY LIVE THIS. I’ve been searching for moccasin boot for ages and I’m more than happy to hear that one of my all time brands are making one!!
Jim Green taking the boot world by storm! You guys are killing it. Already got my African troopers. That meander looks awesome but both are really cool. US Size 14. Fingers crossed!
Lekka Jim Green. I am both teams Meander and Workhorse. I love them both. I take my Jim Green's in a size 7.5 UK. Thanks. I really enjoy your youtube chanel and love your boots.
I’m Team Workhorse. I’m a size us11 and have been really into your company for a while now. I’m Currently saving up to buy my first pair so this would be a blessing if it were to happen!
Getting ready to buy a pair of AR in fudge...but also super excited about the 719s coming next year! I would love a pair of the Meander boots size 11. Would be my first moc!! Thanks to the entire team for such a thorough R &D to ensure a terrrific product!
I personally have a pair of Russells, the Zephyr. To be completely honest, yes, they are quite overpriced and expensive. However, to my knowledge (specifically speaking about the Zephyr) there is no other boot out there with a similar spec, look or feel, it is truly a unique experience no other boot will give you and they are an absolute work of art. With that said, I would advocate for yourself still giving Russells a chance if you are a true moc enthusiast, but only if you are looking at their "unique models" (think the Zephyr or the PH), since you wont find boots like them anywhere else. If your attention is set to the Backcountry or similars, definitely wait for the JG mocs, you will be getting essentially the same boot for probably 1/3 of the price.
@@sebastianfuenzalida3144 Thanks for the input. I like the PH, but was considering the backcountry- specifically for the double vamp, water resistant construction. The only reason I hadn't already ordered them was they had none in stock and I didn't feel like waiting for the production period. Seeing how they are made I don't think they are particularly overpriced.
@@TommyNitro I have 2 pairs of Russell's. Yes they are the most expensive boots I own in a pure stock config. The quality and comfort is there. Maybe not $750 worth, but they are my boot equivalent to Adidas Boost comfort level. I think the JG Meander is gonna put a hurt on ANY moc toe that is below the $500 price point. Especially if they allow customization once it comes out. Finally bought my first pair of JG's to get my size down in the STC'.
Very different products. And cost of manufacture is very different. Save up and buy one Russel Moccasin and one Jim Green. You'll definitely appreciate them both.
I'm definitely a fan of the workhorse. I think the pull loop was a good idea and that the tyre wedge is a great fit for the style! Uk size 12. Would love to have a workhorse as my 4th pair of JGs!
These are exactly what I’ve been looking and waiting for. I’m definitely team workhorse and am a size US11. Absolutely love these and it would truly be a blessing if I could get my hands on these, especially at this moment in my life 🙏 keep doing what your doing, bless you guys
Team Workhorse! I’m incredibly happy to see these in the STC last. Working on my feet 13 hours a day. They would be the perfect companion. And actually I’m happier to have a hand cut prototype on my feet 😂 Please I’m a size 14 UK. Great job!
long time viewer, love seeing how far the company has came i gotta say they are both good looking boots but i would love to test a workhorse pair they seem like they can handle alot of wear im a US size 7 hope to get lucky🎉
EishI! Jim Green you really go the extra mile in the development of your products including Directors wearing them themselves. Unheard of in most companies. I would go for the Meander boot in a UK 6,5
Team Meander! US size 6.5. I absolutely love that you guys are bringing genuine moc construction back, and they look sharp! Always excited to see what you're cooking up.
I am Team Workhorse in a size 10 US size. That's the perfect footwear for the dirty, slippery floors of strip clubs and jack shacks. The boot needs green laces.
Team meander (US size 11) for me. I do a lot of hiking and that construction would do great. I recently got into leather boots and I’m so glad JG decided to capitalized on a whole in the market which is true moccasins, 99% of moc toes are fake even from really renound brands like Red wing or the PNW brands. Not only does the meander boot seem super functional but it would make for a unique piece at the great JG price.
Who wouldn't love a pair of thick leather socks with rugged soles to brave the outdoors?!? Sample #2 is my favorite rendition, but I'm team Meander (UK size 9.5)! I love the fact that those who produced moc toe boots at Jim Green, 20 years ago, are still working at the factory, today. This is a testament to how Jim Green treats their employees!
I fell in love with model #7, but I’m definitely team Meander! Struggled with my wide foot my whole life and those look like a Godsend. Remind me of Russell Moccasins. I’d be eternally grateful for a US size 9.5! 🙏
@ it’s a struggle, brother I’m size 9 EE, and sometimes even that’s too tight… but I’ve heard that classic moccasin constructed boots stretch mold to your foot in the toe box. Would love to give them a try.
@@snoop_kitten4205 11 to 12 EE here depending on the last. Not only wide...but got a couple of freaky poorly healed broken toes that make finding shoes and boots, especially steel toes, SUPER HARD. Jim Green is one of the few that fit perfect out of the box even with my freaky feet!!!
Team Workhorse! I personally would love a traditional moccasin boot for more casual wear like the Meander, but like you said, the Workhorse is one of very, very few traditionally made moc toe work boots. True moccasin construction is hard to come by, especially at an affordable price and made for a work environment, and many of the big brand name, non-moccasin moc toe work boots out there do not meet the apparent quality of the Workhorse. It’s good to hear you seem to have decided to keep with the width we usually see in Jim Green with the new variation of the steel toe cap last. I hope it is just as tall and as wide as the original given that a tall toe box seems to be one of the big, appealing traits that I and many other people like about most moc toes. The steel shank is a welcome feature, too, and as well as that beige wedge sole. I like the brown of the Oringo sole, but that new beige really suits the color of the leather on display with the Workhorse. If I were to receive one of the experimental, hand cut sample Workhorses, I would be more than happy to supply feedback. I am a US size 10. As for the Meander, that 90 degree-cut change on the ankle was a great decision. Gareth Crouch’s boots look great. Lovely silhouette. When you said that you wanted to make a minimalist barefoot moc toe boot, I was very excited, but despite the Meander not meeting the most ‘extreme’ definition of barefoot, I am very happy with the apparent outcome and applaud Jim Green for “not doing something if we’re going to do it half hearted.” You guys truly maintain good sentiment with your products. To that point, I was very happy to hear the words “traditional moccasin construction” and that you added a leather midsole on top of the resin runner midsole. Like I said before, some popular, big brand name boot makers make sad excuses of a moc toe boot and cheap-out on materials like a fully synthetic midsole that splits and falls apart. Features like that leather midsole make me eager to buy if it were to become available for pre-order. I think it was a good choice to steer away from the African Ranger when designing the Meander; The toe spring on the “banana” Sample 2 of the Meander was pretty extreme. The added height helps distinguish it more, too. Another good design choice was that you didn’t stick with the double collar from the razorback and simplified the look while adding a full lining. As for the outsole, I think the tire tread seen on the Workhorse would be a great option for Meander as well. Regardless of what final design and material choices you make, I know Jim Green will make great moc toes, and I will definitely be purchasing come their release this April / May next year. Worth the wait!
Team Meander!! Love the oringo in the African Ranger in a US 9, so a moc toe version of that is awesome to switch between the two being familiar outsoles and even padded collar. The leather lining is an excellent touch which I'm glad you added.
I'd have to go with team Meander on this one for the simple reason that its more recognisable as a JG boot. Tough choice here since both look so good but one thing that i really love is that you incorporated the pulling loops on back. I'm a UK size 9. All the best.
UK8 Workhorse, you just dont get this Quality of moc toe boot in South africa, until now! I have 3 other pairs of Jim Greens, some resoled allready, so I cant wait for this one!
Team workhorse in US (men) size 10. Wow I hoping these would drop anytime before the end of the year 😢. I guess I'll have to wait till next year, unless I win a pair.
I'm team Meander! Although honestly the workhorse is so handsome with the white laces, outsole and stitching. Speaking of, the stitching on these is immaculate in both. Long live the Moc! (I'm size UK 7-8)
I’m so happy to see a South African company taking a true moc toe boot design and production seriously! I probably walk more miles per year in truly tough conditions than most people do in their whole lives, and thus I wear through boots at a rate of knots. With most of my clientele being American citizens, and me doing my homework too, the obvious suggestions for solutions have been the big names like Russell’s and Gokey’s too. I have a few moc boots at the moment that I rotate between. I personally just prefer the feel and wear of a moc toe boot for all of my work in the mountains and bush, and I’d be even happier to support a local (South African) brand as well as not have to worry about sizing issues when ordering online or on the phone with the big US names mentioned before. And let’s be real too, the cost for us South Africans when purchasing these US boots with added shipping costs is not petty cash for us either. Both boots look like they have merit and strong points to hold them in good stead - I like aspects of both variants. I seem to lean more towards the Meander, and I seem to prefer the tyre wedge sole on it. My vote would be Team Meander, and I am a UK size 9. Thank you Jim Green. Ps, my first ‘real’ hunting boots my father bought for me as a boy were Jim Greens - I think I was around 9 years of age. I still have the many photos out hunting with those boots as memories. I felt like a true hunter from that day onwards. I look forward to the progress and to support something proudly local. Thank you, Chris.
I'm absolutely buzzing that you guys decided to stick with traditional moccasin construction. It's really really tough to say but I think I'm Team Meander because while I do manual labor as a baker I prefer something more flexible and sneaker-like because my feet aren't really in harms way of any heavy machinery. I really hope that you guys eventually have the chance to add these to the custom builder. Personally my three favorites are; Sample #4 (which reminds me of Russell's back country), Sample #7 those pale green laces really pop for me, and sample #1 (because of it's unique look and barefoot feel). I'm a size 9.5 US and I really hope some of these samples are in my size.
Team meander!!! Size 8 USA. I’ve gotten a lot of jim green boots rangers, razor back, and the new ones made with rose anvil! Love supporting what you guys do! Sky is the limit
US 9.5 - suppose I am team Meander after watching this video, but if I’m being honest I’d probably want a pair of each. I normally wear a moc toe work-boot, so very curious about the Jim Green’s in this style. Great content, guys. Cheers!
Team Meander. US size 9. Love seeing how detailed and dedicated you are to your craft. I may buy a pair of Meander boots when they come out, however I'd prefer the tyre sole and not the Oringo when the time comes.
Wow quite the process really cool to see. The meander boot is totally awesome size 9 US. Really cool you shared the whole process and your thoughts through the process. Sure they will be a great success
US size 10. Honestly love both designs and will probably end up with one of each. The Meander edges out the Workhorse for me, mostly because it has a more unique design and style to it. Really looking forward to these in the Bronco Brown leather.
This is absolutely incredible!! For someone who can’t afford Russel Moccasin but still wants traditional moc toe quality construction this is perfect!! I cannot wait for these to drop! Y’all keep innovating and listening to your customers and are producing high quality boots at a fair price and am thrilled to support y’all. I’d love the Workhorse in a size US 15 (I know that’s probably technically a custom so if you can’t do that, i understand and someone else would have to win). I really would like a meander as well but will have to wait until spring it sounds like. Until then i will be rocking my size 15 Barefoot African Troopers that’s literally came in the mail today!!!
Team Meander! Love the traditional moccasin build with the modern comfort of a padded collar!! Size 8.5 and I'd love to rock a pair of these around the job site everyday.
I'm Team Meander and a US Size 9.5. I love how these boots look and I'd love to use them for hiking! I can tell by all of the hard work Jim Green team has put into these boots that they'll be a smash hit as soon as they're available!
I’m team Meander. I’m part Native American and have only ever had one pair of moccasins which were home loafers. I’ve always wanted some real moccasin shoes/ boots. These would be great for my hunting trips. I’m U.S size 9
The meander is an absolute dream, they combine the ruggedness of the Jim Green brand and the traditional way of the moccaisains! I am an UK 9. PS: I absolute love the way Jim Green supports the rangers in South Africa. I wear my African Ranger Barefoot with such a joy and they are the only boots where my feet don‘t hurt when I‘m working in the feld. I would love to try other shoes!
I am really excited to see that you guys are making moc to boots, I purchased a Shoellie and they are fantastic from day one. Leather was so supple and easy to wear. I am TEAM WORK HORSE and wear SIZE 9 US … thanks
Team Meander 💪They look mature and and fit the bill for a comfortable yet capable casual boot. I just Got my US size 11 Bronco Numzaans and the tyre wedge sole is a beast for all the tough stuff.
Team Workhorse! The meander looks like an excellent boot but the steel shank makes a huge difference when you're on a ladder all day. Us size 8 or EU 42.
The Meander is absolutely beautiful. I am a proud supporter of Jim Green and it’ll be my 6th pair! Size US 10. I’ll definitely be pre ordering as soon as they’re available if I don’t win.
Team meander 9 US. I love all of my jim green boots and am overjoyed that you've built sucha cool moccasin style boot :D ill definitely be picking up a pair of one or the other when they're released!
I think the meander boot has a more unique look and add green laces you got a stand out boot and maybe one day we’ll get to see them on rose anvil. 🤙🏻 US 11 1/2
YES! I've been looking forward to your take on the Moc Toe, and these look outstanding. Workhorses in US 11 would make a fine addition to my Barefoot African Rangers and Shoelies. Keep up the great work!
These look incredible and I'm so relieved that it's traditional moccasin construction! Team Meander all day! (although maybe I'll go after the workhorse a few years down the line) I'm size 9.5 US on the Brannock. Sample #1 is super unique but the pale green laces on Sample #7 really catches the eye.
I'm on team Workhorse and a UK size 8. I have been wearing Jim Greens for 10 years and they have never let me down. Superior construction, brilliant customer service when it comes to re-soling. I work in construction and they can really take a beating every day of the week. Keep up the great work guys 👌🏻💪🏻
I’m US size 12. I’m team work horse. I love that that it is a true moccasin boot with a steel shank. Thank you for the video. Love to see how it all came together.
You are correct, the white/beige sole is quite common in America. I love the white stitching with the beige sole that you all put together, very clean. In addition, the extra lining and leather midsole is really what sells me on these boots. It really checks all the possible boxes yet stays seemingly traditional in nature.
I'm team meander and I'd love to have a US size 11.5. Wow you guys keep coming up with great boots!! I haven't completely broken in my Numzans yet and I'm going to buy another pair of your boots again!
I'm team workhorse in a size 10 US. I'm currently in the market for my first moc toe boots and these would be perfect to step out (yes, pun intended) of the sneakers-only world.
Man, I so wish I could get a pair . The one with the green laces. That's just.... so well made. I cannot. You are not here yet. Here's to hoping you go global 🤞
uk 11, when the African Ranger first came to Germany, i got one and still love it for hiking through the forrest. Also got Razorbacks for my brother and father for Christmas. In Germany you cant get any Boots that can compare. Great Value!
I loved seeing the behind the scenes iterative process of how these boots have come to fruition. To my mind I’ve never seen any other company give that kind of in depth background and I look forward to seeing more videos like this. I ride hard for team Meander, but would be ecstatic to wear either of these boots. I’m a US10 if I’m lucky enough to win one!
(Us size 9) I like the look of the Meander better but that might be because of the color more the pattern it’s hard to tell which one is better looking without seeing them with the same leather. But both are good looking boots!
Team workhorse! I love the workhorse, classic color scheme of tan top design. Size 13 UK (14 US) I would love to win a pair as I am a staunch supporter of Jim Green!

Team Meander for sure! I'm US size 12 here in the Pacific Northwest! Rainy season is here and my African Rangers are still holding strong!! Thanks

Team Meander
US 9
Very excited for this boot. Immediately jumped to #1 on my boots to buy list once it got teased.
I am team Meander, US 9. Thanks for sharing your design process.
Thank you,
Chris.
A'HOY THERE...LOVE the Workhorse in a size 10uk with GREEN laces truly enjoyed the story of the Boots ..
I love the look of the work horse moctoe. I have a US11 shoellie and have been wearing it almost everyday for 6 months. I love the feel of Jim Greens.
Team Meander. US 10.5.
I love that pair with the green laces. Very handsome lines on it.
I'm on team workhorse. US size 9. You all are champions.
I'm on team Meander with the oringo sole. Been wearing Jim green for the past year and loving it. UK size 8. Cheers.
I didnt know i could like your company more than i already do
This is absolutely incredible!!
I am a team workhorse. It’s refreshing to see a true moccasin construction that can be worn to the worksite. I am a US size 8.5.
They look really great, can only imagine the comfort after really breaking them in. The Meader in 11.5US would just be perfection.
Both are lit, but would give slight edge to the South African native Meander boot. I'm size UK 13.
US 11 1/2
Meander boot looks great, and I love seeing you guys branch out in your boot designs. US size 11
US size 10 team workhorse. I’ve been wearing my barefoot ranger Jim greens almost everyday for months now; awesome boots.
I am team meander here. size UK 8.5. I think I'd really appreciate the extra padding around the collar.
YES! I've been looking forward to your take on the Moc Toe, and these look outstanding. Workhorses in US 11 would make a fine addition to my Barefoot African Rangers and Shoelies. Keep up the great work!
The meander is a unique and attractive option which stands out from other moc toes out there in a great way. Cheers from Australia. US size 9.5.
High, Workhorse....uk 9. Free to put a zero drop out sole😊
Very proud to have a South African company taking on the established names in the boot world. Love this guys 👏 Workhorse all the way, 10 UK!
I’m team workhorse in a size 9.5 US. I think the sole looks great with the beige tyre sole. Very excited for these to drop next year. 👍
I am team Meander, but they both look amazing! Great job! I am a US men's size 9.
I'm a big fan of the Meander boot. Very excited for the release of both of these! US size 10
Meander - usually a US 8.5-9 in sneakers
I'm team meander and I'd love to have a US size 11.5. Wow you guys keep coming up with great boots!! I haven't completely broken in my Numzans yet and I'm going to buy another pair of your boots again!
I'm team workhorse in a size 10 US. I'm currently in the market for my first moc toe boots and these would be perfect to step out (yes, pun intended) of the sneakers-only world.
Man, I so wish I could get a pair . The one with the green laces. That's just.... so well made. I cannot. You are not here yet. Here's to hoping you go global 🤞
Us 8.5-9 team workhorse. And meander but with a proper heel, no wedge on the hiker.
I love the first prototype
To me it looks sleek and the facing helps guide the eyes
uk 11, when the African Ranger first came to Germany, i got one and still love it for hiking through the forrest. Also got Razorbacks for my brother and father for Christmas. In Germany you cant get any Boots that can compare. Great Value!
I had given up on moc toes. Could never find comfort with my wide feet. I like the Work Horse, they look amazing, durable, and comfortable. US size 9
US size 9. Workhorse for the job site is the way to go. Might need the Meander for everyday comfort wear too as I love the green laces.
Team Meander for hunting in Virginia. Typically wear US size 11 wide
(Us size 9) I like the look of the Meander better but that might be because of the color more the pattern it’s hard to tell which one is better looking without seeing them with the same leather. But both are good looking boots!
I love the new Meander but I've got to go with the team Workhorse! You've "nailed it"! I'm a U.S. size 11.
