I can confidently say as a master cobbler and reseller of high end shoes and boots, Blk Brd Shoes are bar none the best value footware brand in the world. Time will till tell if they are maybe even the best brand period. They are changing the playing field in the industry. So very exciting.

Price alone doesn't determine value. I aprreciate the bantor.
Thanks for covering these guys, I’ve a few pairs by them and they’re absolutely top notch and you guys in the west wouldn’t ever understand what I mean when I say top notch because I live in rural India, I’ve put these shoes through horrific treatment, they’ve been through dust, mud, grime and all sorts of garbage and are yet almost as good as new! I’m glad these guys are getting the recognition they deserve! Hope they keep growing!

Sandeep and Pradeep are amazing as are the shoes they make. No request is too much trouble, want a speed lace instead of an eyelet no problem, want a loafer with a commando sole no problem. Sandeep is very patient with me chopping and changing my orders. The only problem I find is there is so much choice, if you order from C&J, Cheaney, etc they do the choosing for you by narrowing the options, Blackbird on the other hand have not said no to me yet, I am sure they have limits but I am yet to find them. My first orders were a pair of butterfly loafers and a pair of hikers in standard leathers to give them a try and they far and away higher quality than the price would suggest. They even sent me swatches of leather which has led to an order of 5 more pairs. Presentation of the shoes is perfect and the real horn shoe horn within the box was a nice touch. Great experience all around if you are cautious give them a try with a basic leather shoe, hand made for under £150 including dhl to your door you won’t regret it. Adrian B (UK)

In the video Sandeep mentioned Quality of shoe making went down in India - disagree with that - compared to what - based on what data - personally I feel it’s just that folks around the world got better in making different kind of shoes matching the changing styles of modern era - Change is constant - adoption is key - the handmade boot community has learnt and adopted to new styles & kept the craftsmanship alive - which is great. High recommendation to buy and try boots with human touch with your own personal styling and customization vs everything machine made

I got their Bulwark shipped to Mumbai soon after I saw your video a couple of months ago and then I checked out UA-cam and Reddit. I love every bit of my Bulwark with CXL natural leather. I've also noticed a lot of people looking at the shoes. It would be awfully nice if they could make a guard protector for the bike's gear shift pad. While on the subject, imagine how cool it would be if a boot manufacturing company collaborated with a bike gear manufacturer on a nice leather boot for bike riders. It might be tricky but it should be doable since many bike boot makers do use leather (with other things). Collaborating with gear makers makes sense to get the necessary safety certifications and also a wide distribution network, Also, these types of safety boots are sadly not made for re-sole purposes. Just throwing that idea out there and I would be curious if any companies would be interested. We already have rider jeans which has sections where you can slip in silicone pads and the stitch for it makes it look cool. It may work. Then again it may not. It is something interesting to look into.

I hope the company is paying well to the cobblers, in a country where cobblers are considered untouchables, and even with such skills still the cobbler community is poor, this should atleast make their lives better and value their skills.
That’s the whole point of putting them on front and giving their due credit for their work. We have workers from different religions and caste and all treated same. All work with synergy and party together when we celebrate an event.

Absolutely the best. There is another brand which talks a lot about quality and tank shows and all other nonsense but delivered such horrible shoes. It’s called Bridlen. Compared to that, these guys are understated and doing a fantastic job, delivering what they are promising. Which is nothing short of an “Art”

A small shoemaker in India does hand lasting because its cheaper to do them due to the low cost of labor unlike UK, Italy and Spain.

British use horse , india did have cow leathers but it's rare now , mostly buffalos now's and calfs

sheet cork is better in my opinion than troweling it on, a more even application and less likely to bunch up weirdly somehow leaving a lump underfoot.

As mentioned in the video, their products are made for the Indian market first. If they charge too much, no-one in India will be able to afford them.

Cow slaughter is legal in East and South India but there also it is mostly the bulls (male cows) that are slaughtered for meat and leather.

As for south and north east, they just got a completely different outlook especially northeast which it's a delicacy along with pork

Why don't you make sandals as it's mostly hot in India and people here prefer it to boots? Like some good quality leather sandals in the design of Birkenstock madrid and arizona.

Compared to that, these guys are understated and doing a fantastic job, delivering what they are promising. Which is nothing short of an “Art”
