Mosquitos & lack of sun in winters
It does stay a bit grey here in the winter months. The mosquitos are not as bad as many people think, at least in my opinion anyway
While the taxes are higher in Minnesota, it doesn't have a sales tax on food and clothing.

Born and raised here. Planning to move out of Minnesota. The state is on the road to ruin. With the Democrats in charge and all of the left wing laws they passed last year and the insane tax levels that they continue to increase. The expansion of the state budget by 30% in one year is unbelievable!
And will be unsustainable!
I expect a mass exodus from the state in the next few years.

My retirement plan was to spend late spring thru fall in Minnesota. My house is paid off. Then spend the rest of the year in Ecuador. Or some other warm place. But With the state under complete democrat control.
Plus the Democrats changed the voting laws to make sure they stay in control.
This is why many Minnesotans are planning on leaving the state!
February this year, Minnesota had a $19 billion surplus due to the immoral hyper over-taxation of hardworking Minnesotans. When that news was announced, Democrats were elated. They took our money, spent every dime, and also raised taxes by $10 billion to fuel a crazy, irresponsible 40% growth in government spending. Republicans warned about the dire consequences of Democrat’s terrible decision making but were ignored.
The results are now in. Earlier this week, Minnesota’s budget office released it’s annual November revenue forecast are projecting a $2.4 billion surplus for the rest of this biennium and a $2.31 billion deficit in the following budget cycle. In other words, in one session of reckless spending Democrats turned a $19 billion surplus into a looming $2.31 billion deficit. The Democrat approach is not just unsustainable but insulting to the taxpayers of Minnesota who are struggling with inflation in President Biden's failed economy. I speak to individuals each week who are planning to leave Minnesota permanently due to Democrats going wild with other people's money.

I'm grew up here and have lived in MN much of my life. This state has become very violent over the years. I will add that mental illness in MN is off the charts and cognitive dissonance is also off the charts.
The state is no longer run well and the legislature waste a lot of money on social programs that due nothing but line politicians pockets. If you like social programs that give to takers that don't deserve the benefits, than this is a state for you. I.,e., if you are a loser on welfare, welcome, the mentally ill liberals love you.
I also will be permanently leaving in the next four years after I retire.
Please let us know when you plan to sell. We have SO many buyers looking for homes right now!
