As a nespresso employee here are a few corrections.
Descaling only needs to happen based on personal use. You’re just spending money on descaling kits if you do it once a month.
As for the water to use, use tap water. The machine filters out any not needed minerals but the minerals kept in tap water add to the true taste of the selected coffee.
There are actually 3 types of recommended brew types. It states what the recommended brew is on each sleeve. Either ristretto, espresso or lungo.
Resetting your machine doesn’t “optimize” the brew. People can customize how much water is used for each function. Resetting will just make them have to do it again.
“Prime your machine” with hot water? It warms up before putting the water into the capsule each time.
Thanks for explaining. I was questioning these "tips" and you confirmed and corrected them fully. You should put this on an Amazon review for any of these nespresso machines.

Lol yeah true and here's the non nespresso employee tip, descale once every 3 to 6 months and just use normal white vinegar to descale, dont buy these expensive descalers

Tip #3: Buy Nespresso capsules so you have them. That's where I was going wrong.

Well that was enlightening, because now I don't go out and buy a new "Nespresso single serve espresso machine" after I run out of capsules. I thought you had to buy a new "Nespresso single serve espresso machine" once your capsules ran out. But I now know you can order "Nespresso single serve espresso machine" capsules online so my "Nespresso single serve espresso machine" is always ready and primed for my daily cup of coffee from my "Nespresso single serve espresso machine". Thx Mr Coffee man for the tremendous tips and tricks about my "Nespresso single serve espresso machine"...dunno how I coped before watching your video about the "Nespresso single serve espresso machine".

Tip 11.... just make the coffee and enjoy it! I have one nespresso at home and one at work. Never cleaned or descaled either in 5 years. Both make an amazing cup!
Tip No.11. When using tap water don't forget to turn the tap off that way you won't flood the kitchen and more importantly, save precious water supplies.

I found Café Agga capsules on amazon for 26.54 for 60 caps. That's .44 per cap, it tastes great! I hope this helps!!!

another tip. look at getting a nessie press so you can get the coffee out of your spent capsules for your garden. it also reduces the space and weight of your spent capsules for recycling. I just ordered one, and no, I am not affiliated with them in any way. it might be worth a review tho

Get your milk warm 45 sec ins a microwave and get a cheap manual froth thing. You will be able to make macchiatos and cappuccinos for cheap.

Hey guys, I work for Nespresso. You have some great tips but to clarify a few things:
1) a capasule that is not made by Nespresso can damage the machine especially made out of plastic.
2) if you want a brewed coffee, try veruto machine. It gives more to offer as it designed for that.

I was working for nespresso too, during training I was told, that plastic capsules would Explorer, which is just bullshit. With my own inissia machine I tried variety od different capsules and non of them damaged my machine. The only problem is that other brands have weeker coffee and the quality od the coffee is not do good.

Yes I too have avoided nespresso capsules due to the nestle baby milk scandal , the water scandal and the palm oil rainforest scandal making me think is nestle the worst company ever? Not had any issues with other makes of pods and have been using them for years.

I tried one company's coffee (sounds like Nespresso) and the coffee was weak,I needed 2 of theirs to = 1 nespresso capsule.That was their strong one.
I have this Nespresso U and use it several times daily and although I rinse and wipe it clean after every use, I'm getting a build up of "burnt milk" for lack of a better word at the bottom of the frother. Previously, we had used a dish brush to attempt to scrub it out only resulting in damaging the frother and buying another one from Nespresso. Any better solutions to resolve the "burnt milk" at the bottom?
Hi. I had the same problem and tried everything that I could think of. One day I was descaling my machine and wondered if the vinegar would remove the burnt milk. It works great. I just put enough white vinegar in to cover the burnt milk and let it sit for awhile. It softens so it will come off with a brush. I also started running it with the vinegar to clean the whisk.

Hi how to i clean the outer part of the coffee machine the whole outer part of the machine the metal piece so that it does not have germs ? Can i use a little bit wet cloth and a alittle bit of dettol.
Use the same detergent you use for wiping glass surfaces and windows, it removes any stains and that's how nespresso workers are cleaning the machines in stores.

Here’s how I use my Nespresso Single Serve Espresso Machine.
(1) Put coffee thing in the thing for it.
(2) Push button to get coffee water into cup.
(3) Drink the coffee water.
Two other tips he failed to mention!!! Very important!!! To watch this video of the Nespresso single serve capsule espresso machine video about Nespresso single serve capsule serve machine capsule coffee, make sure your computer or portable device screen is facing your face. If it isn’t, simply hold the device in place, and move around to the side of the device where you can see the video. Make sure you are facing it as well!! Also, to HEAR the video, make sure you adjust the volume of your device to a level where you can hear it. Hope this helps! I sure was glad to make it all the way to the tip where he told me to eject the spent capsule prior to placing a new capsule. Great tips. Not sure who his target audience is, but I’m sure my tips were helpful if his were.

Tip number ONE: Plug the long cable that is connected to your machine into the wall outlet. If you do not do this, it really takes a long time to heat up!

2 tips EVERY Nespresso owner should know (The non-read-out-of-the-instructions version) :
Tip #1 - Buy 10x re-usable pods and save hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Literally the difference between $120/kg of coffee when buying pods VS $30/kg with re-usables and some good, top-shelf beans. They're only $20 for ten (give or take a few bucks) and they can last for hundreds of cups if looked after.
Tip #2 - Read your instructions. I would hazard a guess that most of the tips featured in this video are probably already in your manual.

In danish we have a saying. You cannot make a turd look nice.
In this context if means that you will never make a good cup of coffee from an nespresso machine whatever you do. Or at least it will be a very small one as there is only 5 grams of coffee in the capsules. That mean you an express would be around 10 grams, but the default setting which cannot be changed on most machines are about 40 grams. The ratio is so off it is ridiculous.

I would be very careful using other brand capsules. I did for a while and they broke my machine. The plastic capsule was too hard for the machine. Plus one of the reasons I use the Nespresso is that they are aluminum and thus more biodegradable than plastic!
