We have had a Citiz for many years now with a milk frother on the side. We unplug our machine and take it when we go away in the caravan. We love our coffee maker.
Like the video but would also have preferred to see both do the same thing. Water travels further in the Citiz because it's a bigger machine. Also, both Pixie and Citiz can be reprogrammed to serve Ristretto at 25ml, as it is in Italy. Lungo is not a double espresso either, its 110mls vs 40mls for the espresso. Loved the way you presented the machines though. I was going to get a Citiz until I saw your demo on the drip trays - now I'm fixed on the Pixie! Thank you so much :)
If you're going to do a video comparing two products, then have them both do the same thing. Either do a lungo shot in both or a small shot in both, so viewers can see the difference. You did the same thing when you compared the Aeroccino Plus and the Aeroccino 3. You made cold froth in one and hot froth in the other. No way to see if the machines frothed differently.
the citiZ doesnt auto turn off, it goes into standby mode, but to turn off you would need to flip the switch. the pixie however, does auto turn off after 9 mins and can be reprogramed, when it does turn off, you will hear a click which pops the button back up from on mode
Thank you. Both of them make same espresso. But here's the difference. Citiz was on the market for a long time. Pixie is still new. As you see design is different. Also Pixie more stylish, smaller, smarter and available in many colors. I think Nespresso want it to be like iPod :). So bottom line is you will get same espresso but you have to decide what you will pay and which design you want to have. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.
I have noticed there are two different citizi being shown. I can't tell which is the newer version. The one here has a flat face spout. There is another with more of a faucet looking spout. Which is the newer version? Is there a difference?
Will you review the reusable capsules that are available and rate them next to the Nespresso branded capsules? I would be really interested to find out if (1) they work as advertised and (2) if similar espresso ground coffee will taste as good. Thanks in advance for making great reviews.
You didn't really tell us the difference between the two machines. We already know it looks different. But what about temperature when it comes out. Or which makes better coffee.
I found your videos to be awesome and I have decided to get one of the Nespresso machines. My question is that I do want to get into Latte art. Will the milk frother that comes with these devices work for that? I am assuming I have to decant it into a pitcher for pour control, but am asking if you feel this device would work well?
Great video I just can´t understand why Pixie costs €149,00 and the Citz costs €179,00. I really don´t see a great advantage on Citz to pay an extra €30,00.
I've got the pixie!! Ya I'm an advocate to what u said... It's extremely amazing.... Especially for a student who's studying for his/her finals :) thumbs uppppp nespresso :)
A lungo is a single shot with additional water. It is not a double shot. Two single shots, using two capsules, into one vessel, is a double shot. You called the lungo a double-shot many times in this video.
Does the citiz brew a hotter cup of coffee than the vertuoline? I know from your review of the vertuoline that it doesn't that hot of a cup. I prefer mine hot. If that is the case I will hang on to my tassimo.
I was unsure which of the two to buy and comparing like mad the features of both. This video is just the thing I needed and I am so glad I found it. Thank you guys for doing it!
Thinking of getting the Pixie for our family. Where do people get the lowest price pods for the Nespresso? $1 a shot seems steep from what I have seen so far.
Yes Chris is right. You will need to prime machine before first use. You do this with any espresso machine to get even temp. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
aw man, it would have been so great to review this using the exact same pods! why did you use different ones!? Quick question: does the difference between them comes down to their size? That's kind of strange considering the price difference. Anyway, it's a great review. Thanks!
I have a question for you. There is a coffee shop in the city I live in that has the most wounderful coffee blend, however these machine only use pod. Is there a way around this? ~Thank you in advance!
Using different machines ....different cups ...long shot....single shot... same coffee, well...in ther end i need to know if coffee is the same or if any machine have more performance. Is a good review well donje but i did'nt understood if i can evaluate to change my citiz..
You did a nice job but would suggest when comparing to give facts such as amt of h20 each container holds, address h20 leakage issue on pixie that a lot of reviewers mention, is double shot higher concentration of coffee?
Milk sugar and everything these things come to a bit less than $1 per cup (inc nespresso shot). At $3 per cup of regular coffee the payback period on a $300 machine is less than a year at 1 cup a day. At 6 a day - different story :D
Always hitting that lungo button as a starting out coffee drinker, I normally detest coffee but this machine when a friend showed me sold it to me massively! Lush tasting coffee, may be brave and try a strong shot sometime soon 😂
fyi: all Nespresso machines make same coffee since same mechanism pump of 19 bar. the rest depends on your estetical taste and the size of the water and waste tanks.
Excellent review! Only ONE thing you could do better. The lighting! It's a little dark in that room you're in so just get a better lamp for when you're making videos! :)
The lungo is a 100-110ml. So it's like 3-3.5 times more than the espresso shot. Not to **** on the guy, but it's your job- you should know your coffee and machines when talking about them
Hey do You have to put a lot of strength to close the handle lever in Pixie hile having the capsule in it in order to puncture it? Is there a chance to break the handle while doing this?
We are thinking about it but here's a lot of complains about them (pressure issue) :(. Also it not easy to buy them. But if more people will ask we'll deferentially consider it. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
I have a have a Pixie in my office since some years, my mother has also one but different manufactor ( Mine is Turmix my mothers one is Krups), I think the Turmix has better build quality and does not gain that much noise over time. I was thinking about bying a new one, but I am not sure wich one fits my needs. I wanted one a little bit not that noisy and I am only making 2-3 coffeas a day (If I have no visitors in my office). Can someone suggest me a good one?
I just got my own Nespresso, the Essenza Mini. I. Love. It. Just plop, click. -----------MEME AHEAD----------------- Brother, is it coffee time? It'll be coffee time when it's coffee time *_some time later_* Brother, is it coffee time _now?_ *breath in* *_C O F F E E T I M E_*
Opens like a shotgun😖 ?? Not even close. Citiz is the way to go - the Pixie is obnoxiously small making it difficult to use latte size cups. Skip the Pixie.
Buy Nespresso if you want luke warm coffee...I can hold my finger under the so called "boiling water" lame. At least Aldi has hot water....poor form Nespresso..

was just about to write the same thing
Lungo - "long pour" not a double-shot...really love the Pixie!
🤔🤔🤔🤔
👍 smart
I just returned the Lattissima Plus for the Citiz. I don't recommend the Lattissima because I just couldn't get it hot enough.
the citiZ doesnt auto turn off, it goes into standby mode, but to turn off you would need to flip the switch. the pixie however, does auto turn off after 9 mins and can be reprogramed, when it does turn off, you will hear a click which pops the button back up from on mode
I never heard about the differences in the machines besides form factor? Can we assume the are exact same in regards to how and what they can make?
Thank you. Both of them make same espresso. But here's the difference. Citiz was on the market for a long time. Pixie is still new. As you see design is different. is those two coffee machines good for a small home business ? which one do you recommend ?
@lukeybabes88 Thank you. Agree. I think Nespresso Pixie is best engineered single-serve espresso machine on the market today.
What about the drip trays made you change your mind?
Thank you for comment. Yes it makes same exactly the same espresso. The difference is size, price and design. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.
Will you review the reusable capsules that are available and rate them next to the Nespresso branded capsules? I would be really interested to find out if (1) they work as advertised and (2) if similar espresso ground coffee will taste as good.
Thanks in advance for making great reviews.
So which one makes better coffee
Thanks for the video. Now I have decided to order the Pixie. It looks great. You helped me decide.
You didn't really tell us the difference between the two machines. We already know it looks different. But what about temperature when it comes out. Or which makes better coffee.
Hi guys - Thanx for all your hard work and extensive reviews but I am bit confused.De Longhi pixie vs Crups pixie…Whats the catch? De Longhi vs Crups.
I found your videos to be awesome and I have decided to get one of the Nespresso machines. My question is that I do want to get into Latte art. Will the milk frother that comes with these devices work for that? I am assuming I have to decant it into a pitcher for pour control, but am asking if you feel this device would work well?
I have the Pixie and its the best coffee machine I have ever used!
what is that thing in between them?
Milk maker with nice foam
That's Brian, he's high af giving a review....
Damn, you are/were truly everwhere
Great video I just can´t understand why Pixie costs €149,00 and the Citz costs €179,00. I really don´t see a great advantage on Citz to pay an extra €30,00.
I've got the pixie!! Ya I'm an advocate to what u said... It's extremely amazing.... Especially for a student who's studying for his/her finals :) thumbs uppppp nespresso :)
Raad Al-Hmoud bu
what's the height of the pixie with the handle all the way open?
Versus implies there is a winner... which one is better?
About the time brewing, actually it can be reset manually. ( I found it from the desalination kit)
It's actually $65c. On Black Friday Nespresso will have $100 credit :). Stay tune for this coupon. We'll publish it here. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
A lungo is a single shot with additional water. It is not a double shot. Two single shots, using two capsules, into one vessel, is a double shot. You called the lungo a double-shot many times in this video.
Can you turn the light shining into the pot tray off? It's so tacky! If not, do you reckon it'd be safe to put some black tape over it?
best review on youtube about these two machines. thank you very much
Does the citiz brew a hotter cup of coffee than the vertuoline? I know from your review of the vertuoline that it doesn't that hot of a cup. I prefer mine hot. If that is the case I will hang on to my tassimo.
thanks 4 yr very helpful info x
I was unsure which of the two to buy and comparing like mad the features of both. This video is just the thing I needed and I am so glad I found it. Thank you guys for doing it!
Have you noticed any water dipping when raising the level after heating up the pixie? Mine does that and I am not sure if it's normal or not.
Thinking of getting the Pixie for our family. Where do people get the lowest price pods for the Nespresso? $1 a shot seems steep from what I have seen so far.
You can buy Citiz with Milk Frother or without. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Yes Chris is right. You will need to prime machine before first use. You do this with any espresso machine to get even temp. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Hi, what's the size water take on them both?
Thank you very much for explanation.Appreciate it.
I'm getting ansy about finding a store that sells Nespresso Machine's
aw man, it would have been so great to review this using the exact same pods! why did you use different ones!?
Quick question: does the difference between them comes down to their size? That's kind of strange considering the price difference.
Anyway, it's a great review. Thanks!

~Thank you in advance!
The coffee looks really good! Yummy! Joan Bates
Thank you! Enjoy your cup.
1 capsule 1 cup ? It would be bit of a pain in case i need to make 6 cups at a time. Or do I have this wrong ?
Using different machines ....different cups ...long shot....single shot... same coffee, well...in ther end i need to know if coffee is the same or if any machine have more performance. Is a good review well donje but i did'nt understood if i can evaluate to change my citiz..
and will a normal regular mug be compatible with Pixie?
Espresso is never made with boiling water. Pre-heating your cups is always a good idea though.
Thanks. Yes Pixie can be re-programmed to offer different sizes. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.
Does the pixe machine comes with the steam milk cup like citiz? Tia!
You did a nice job but would suggest when comparing to give facts such as amt of h20 each container holds, address h20 leakage issue on pixie that a lot of reviewers mention, is double shot higher concentration of coffee?
A citiz tem problemas de vazamento e outras avarias? Na sua opinião qual é melhor? Já fez uso da máquina lattissima one?
Milk sugar and everything these things come to a bit less than $1 per cup (inc nespresso shot). At $3 per cup of regular coffee the payback period on a $300 machine is less than a year at 1 cup a day. At 6 a day - different story :D
Yes here's reusable NeCap or NexPod for Nespresso. We are not sure about quality thought. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.
Citiz all the way. Very clean and elegant design. Nothing remarkable about the pixie, only good qualities are: small and light... really?
Always hitting that lungo button as a starting out coffee drinker, I normally detest coffee but this machine when a friend showed me sold it to me massively! Lush tasting coffee, may be brave and try a strong shot sometime soon 😂
Sounds amazing! Excelent review! The Pixies is very, very good. I'll look up.
Just brew without capsule. It will warm up/clean internal parts and mug. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
good revieww
fyi: all Nespresso machines make same coffee since same mechanism pump of 19 bar. the rest depends on your estetical taste and the size of the water and waste tanks.
Avi Menchel thank you sir!
How do you prime the Pixie machine?
Lungo ≠ double shot
Don't mislead people with false info thank you very much
totally agree.. its double amount of water.. its like 1shot + 1 shots of water for lungo.. aromacup sure dunno his homework.. hahahaha
Thank you :/ it looked way more than a double shot :S
Excellent review! Only ONE thing you could do better. The lighting! It's a little dark in that room you're in so just get a better lamp for when you're making videos! :)
Thank you. This is old video. New videos has better lighting. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com

I want one.
Agreed - a brilliant review!
Doesn't the citiz also steam milk?
Thank you!
very informative
Is there any other difference in the quality of coffee between the two machines or is it just the size, water tank, and mechanism that is different?
Would have been nice if you got an answer, I would have liked to know the same thing
compare the new inissia with the pixie please!
Nespresso Inissia not available in US some reason.
Lungo is not a double shot
wow, it's 2018 and the machines haven't changed since 2011
Thanks. We actually just bought the pixie from Amazon so we might not get the $100. Unless that $100 promo is for coffee as well :)
Lungo isn’t a double shot.
I will like to think it so when using a Nespresso machine 😆
Hey do You have to put a lot of strength to close the handle lever in Pixie hile having the capsule in it in order to puncture it? Is there a chance to break the handle while doing this?
Capsule fits the slot.
We are thinking about it but here's a lot of complains about them (pressure issue) :(. Also it not easy to buy them. But if more people will ask we'll deferentially consider it. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
It could be more pain if you use classic espresso machine :). It's easier with Nespresso :). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.
Great comment :) Nespresso start from $129 (Essenza). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Agree. They could cost less :). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com

Huh, interesting.
