  • Hello everyone hope all is well. Y’all look listen I had a taste for some chitterlings and my local meat market was all out. So I said what’s the next thing best to chitlins a pig pot. So of course I jump right in the kitchen and started to make that pot rattle lol. This is just a quick little video of me cooking a pig pot. I will leave the recipe below. Hope you all enjoy the video😚.

Pig Feet: washed in warm water, lemon juice & apple cider vinegar scraping them clean. Repeating warm water, lemon juice & apple cider vinegar twice.
Seasoning: 2tbsp of greens Sofrito,1tbsp of Adobo, complete seasoning, crush red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, sea salt & thyme..adding mix bell peppers & onions mixing well.
Cooking: Added 2tbsp of vegetable oil to a pot along with mixed bell peppers & onions, green onions & 2tbsp of minced garlic allowed it to sauté for 2 minutes then added my pig feet in along with 3 to 4 cups of water depending on the size of your pot along with 3tbsp of white vinegar & 3 bay leaves. 10 minutes in I added my souse meat. Allowed it to cook on a medium burner for an hour and a half of cooking time. The total cooking time is 2 to 3 hours depending on how much you’re cooking. I added 2/3 of water and 2tbsp of flour mixed in a small bowl along with 1tbsp of browning mixing well and pouring it into my pot 2 hours in along with more mix peppers & onions, greens onions & more seasoning this step is optional. Allow it to cook for an additional 5 to 6 minutes and you’re ready for serving.

So you prefer to clean them that way instead of boiling them to clean that stuff off? I’m just asking cause i do both … yours look amazing 😩

I like cleaning them that way because you can see all the hairs and the other stuff that’s on them. Sometimes you have to burn the hairs off. When boiling them to clean them you still have the hairs on that’s just my way of cleaning them and thank you!!
