Hunty be thankful... 99.9999% of what we eating in the US giving us high blood pressure, heart disease, arterial stenosis, diabetes, etc.. they told us it was genetic but what we finding out is it's "what we been eating"... passing down dishes thru our families from generation 2 generation. It's why other countries, including Italy, ban certain foods that are imported from the US, cancerous containing ingredients... 🤷🏾‍♀️

Awesome video, Gina! Thank you for sharing this! I’ve never had chitterlings before, but these look so beautiful and delicious. My grandmother used to eat them and she said she was never going to make them again. It’s probably because she got tired of them the way she was fixing them. She needed a beautiful new recipe like this one! I hope you had a wonderful weekend, I love you Gina and family! God bless you all 🤗❤️🙏

Came through to tell you thanks, sincerely. I haven’t had chittlins in over 12 years after growing tired of the bland version; however, I tried this recipe for myself yesterday. I had never cooked them, myself, but your video made all instructions so clear to follow, and I nailed it. They were SO GOOD!!

Never made them this way before… my Grandma recipe just called for celery onions and vinegar… yes not only did they get washed several times but they were placed in a big pot covered with plain water brought to a hard boil then poured water of and repeated several times before the final boil… then the seasonings and vegetables would be added… you’re telling the truth about the long process and and to ignore the “pre cleaned” label… I cook only the hog maws now… don’t take quite as long… thanks for sharing❤️🙏🏽
Ps After all that time cleaning and parboiling/pour-off I use a pressure cooker for the cook stage

Hey everyone. These chitterlings are different, never had red sauce. As a Southerner, I don’t pull the lining out, that’s part of the chitterlings. After numerous cleanings I soak in salty water, rinse to rid the salt and then cook. But to each their own. Just saying 😊

    • @brendajones3189

Exactly. Tomato sauce does not go in chitterlings however, when it is your kitchen you can cook how you want, lol! just saying. Her chitterlings does look good and packed with flavor. but in the south, there is no red sauce and not all of the other ingredients as well. Just plain chitterlings, yams, greens, hot sauce, and cornbread.

I have to my knowledge never eaten chitterlings before. The finished product looks too good to pass up. Yours took hours to clean and make into what looks more like a soup. If someone came to a meal and this was put before them with a crust of French bread they would ask for seconds. This is about the only way that I would prepare it.
