Car & Driver just gave this their EV of the Year, so other driving enthusiasts do indeed appreciate what Hyundai has done here. I like the fact that so many other EVs are trying to be everything for the masses, and Hyundai just did this for the minority of drivers who actually enjoy driving; there are of course other versions of the Ioniq and the similar Kia EV6 for less enthusiastic people. Hyundai really knocked it out of the park with this car. They knew what they needed to do to bridge the gap between internal combustion enthusiasts and EVs. It is a shame the small overly-vocal group of people who can't separate the politics from the products won't realize how cool this thing is and acknowledge it as the "step in the right direction" that it is for enthusiasts. Given this is the first product to really do what this car can do - I hope other manufacturers do the same. Every review I have seen of this car has been glowing - and there is tons of footage of them being driven on tracks. If I was in the market for an EV - this would be #1 on my list. What would be really, really cool is if they implement a feature where you can download / add different "tuning" maps to change the sound and behaviors. It would be thoroughly quite awesome to hop in the car - and be like "today I want to drive a supercharged V8" or "How about a high-revving Italian v6" and have the simulated powerband/shifts replicate those powertrains.
I want this Hyundai so badly. Although I'm working for one of the 3 Germany Premium Manufacturer. The N team is incredible, and this car is the peak of their innvovation. And I mean, this is also a family car with everyday practicality, with comfort mode. Insane.
It's family sized, and a fun toy. Not so sure about everyday practically though. It's still just an EV after all. You have to live in a very specific location and have a very specific lifestyle to be able to live with an EV as a primary vehicle (even then have your life revolve around planning for the car)...and not be completely miserable or screwed. So fun toy, but expensive, and mainly impractical for most people just like any other EV.
Glad to see you having Fun! Hyundai/Kia have been killing it here lately! They also do a great job upgrading their offerings, keeping them safe with better brakes and realistic traction controls! Thanks for the review👍
It's so cool to see Sarah test drive this beast. So much fun. This is my dream car hands down. I drive a 20 year old Hyundai coupe and if I win the lottery I'll get the Ioniq 5N... but still keep the coupe 😅. Thanks Sarah, keep on cruising. ❤
We owned a 2010 Genesis Track 3.8 (Interlagos Yellow with Nav FTW) and it was so, so, so much better than a 370Z or any of the American sports cars of the time. It's no surprise that the N group have taken performance seriously. We all also know that Sarah's hair is one of the precursors to a great review.
I was kinda forced to get rid of my GT86 and Civic and instead leased a Smart #1. Fast, comfy, easy to drive but not engaging in any way. The Hyundai N would be my dream car now. All the benefits of an EV but with the engagement of an old fashioned sports car.

I love the Ionic 5N. Personally, I prefer the supersonic sound, given that instead of pops and burbles, it has little sonic booms. Also, the sound doesn't really come across on video quite as nice as it sounds IRL. There are so many cool things about the 5N. 0.6g of regenerative braking. In comparison, the Porsche Taycan GT only has 0.42g. It's a super usable car. Range isn't bad for what it is, especially when driven readonably. It still has the 18min from 10 to 80% on a 350W fastcharger, like the normal 5/EV6/GV60. The fake gears even have a hard limiter, so when you hit it, you don't keep accelerating, like it would be in a real transmission. It's currently in my top 3 of cars that I want. The other 2 are the Ariel Nomad 2 and the eNomad.
I AB-SO-LUTE-LY LOVE the look of the Hyundai NVision 74.... Just imagine if they released that 74 model with the same elec/tech specs on the market alongside the Ioniq5... How many 5s would be bought compared to how many 74s would be baught? 🤔😏 😎🇬🇧

It's so well proportioned you can't even tell how big it is until you see it in person. I can only imagine of when they perfect solid state batteries and cut weight by a third.
A third? If they double density and keeping the size (car size + battery capacity), you're looking at a 10% reduction. Redesign platform form scratch, maybe 20%. This car might seem heavy, but for the interior size and performance, it's actually on-par with ICE!
The whole video, Sarah, was worth it just to see your surprise at the first launch. Thanks for another great video. This is the first electric car that has caught my eye.
How many people really appreciate that Sarah coordinates outfits, shoes and nails for each of these reviews... that is commitment... I also want to know if the body control module can be hacked so the rear light strip can be used to display messages or patterns... and can we upload an MP3 of an F22 or F35 at full afterburner vertical ascent as the engine sound option to use...? It looks like the Hyundai design crew have been reverse engineering BMW M cars...
3:26 Appears to be some kind of QC sticker with inspector's stamp (it's the equivalent of signiture/autograph in countries such as Korea, Japan and China) So I guess the part was inspected for possible defect and passed the quality standard.
Some day a car maker will send a car in a colour that Sarah doesn't have a coordinated outfit to match... But not today. You always go that extra mile (no pun intended, Sarah) in everything you do. Respect! And in this particular case, Sarah, hold on to that particular outfit, in case Ford ever decides to send you a new base model 1967 Ford Custom for review. I think that shade of blue was one of the choices. 😂
Again great content. I really like your evaluation of the feel of the drive. I would like to see on the cars with regenerative braking a max stop on only regen. Thanks for the takes
Saw one of these in person at a local dealership in the red color...the presence this car exudes on the road is astonishing, aside from the performance of it. Also, did you know that it has a longer wheelbase than the Hyundai Palisade SUV? 😅...hence, I wouldn't call it a "hatchback," per se...
No Sarah, a nerd's dream car would be an EV Dodge M4s with engine sound effects that match the movie engine sounds. And your reviews are always enjoyable.
There are some classic sports car 'RestoModders' out there replacing the ICE motors for Tesla motors BUT, STILL linking them up to MANUAL gear boxes (Karma Ghias, Porsche and more) so you have the 'Insto torque' of electric but, WITH the fun of a manual sports car! 😏👌 😎🇬🇧
People tend to focus on the performance of Ioniq 5 N and rightly so. The true strength of the vehicle is versatility. You can have a lot of fun on the tracks or just push echo button and drive on highways in a more relaxed manner like other EVs. Huge trunk space and room in the rear seat along with V2L, you can load your camping gear or picnic stuff and chill at state parks. You can even use household appliances such as microwave or electric grill with V2L. You can drive 250 + miles easily on eco mode also.
Hi Sarah. I went back three times to watch you the first e-beans and it looked like you had so much fun. It was hilarious. This review was great !!!!!!
I like the Ioniq 5N, thanks for your review Sarah! However, I just ordered a Tesla M3P. The Tesla has more range, is faster, weighs 800 lbs less, has many more features, uses the Tesla Supercharger network, and is $20,000 cheaper. I just couldn't spend nearly $70k on a Hyundai.
Three years ago, after seeing your Veloster N review, I went out and bought one. I’ve since sold that car. Now, I’m thinking I may go out and buy a 5N! I have an M2 on order and now I’m wondering if this would be more fun (and practical and cheaper).

The former head engineer for bmw m division is now in charge of Hyundai n cars.
Just gonna say it Sarah, you and your channel are fabulous.

Appears to be some kind of QC sticker with inspector's stamp (it's the equivalent of signiture/autograph in countries such as Korea, Japan and China)
So I guess the part was inspected for possible defect and passed the quality standard.
Matching top 👍🏼
I did notice your sleeved tube top matches the color of the car.
I have the EV6-GT. Love the fact that it's basically the sleeper version of the 5N
THIS IS THE VIDEO I'VE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR!
i like the eLSD setting the most
Yay, I've been hoping for this review, and it didn't disappoint!
Great they have you to review this car!
You look extra great in plaid.
No Sarah, a nerd's dream car would be an EV Dodge M4s with engine sound effects that match the movie engine sounds.
And your reviews are always enjoyable.
The bolster tests may be my favorite part of your reviews. Braking test is a close second.
It's not often you find periwinkle colored vehicles. There's lots to love about that car. Fun to drive, eco friendly and not priced too high.
color matching outfit 😊😊
There are some classic sports car 'RestoModders' out there replacing the ICE motors for Tesla motors BUT, STILL linking them up to MANUAL gear boxes (Karma Ghias, Porsche and more) so you have the 'Insto torque' of electric but, WITH the fun of a manual sports car! 😏👌 😎🇬🇧
Your blouse matches the car.
0:54 This clarification really was necessary!
Thanks Sarah. The best thing about this...thing... are the cupholders.
For the first time ever, my mental scores matched Sarah’s! 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Sarah. I went back three times to watch you the first e-beans and it looked like you had so much fun. It was hilarious. This review was great !!!!!!
This was hilariously entertaining and fun to watch. Please never change, Sarah!
I had to laugh when you did the brake test, your hair covered your face.
Pleasing to see you having fun instead of work, work, work..
Three years ago, after seeing your Veloster N review, I went out and bought one. I’ve since sold that car. Now, I’m thinking I may go out and buy a 5N! I have an M2 on order and now I’m wondering if this would be more fun (and practical and cheaper).
