    Thank you for continuing to say "USB-C ports". I've seen quite a few reviewers of other vehicles (campers, trailers, etc.) call them "US-C" ports to distinguish them from regular USB ports. Thank you for not being lazy.

I’m not even mad that Hyundai took a styling inspiration from them. Honestly as Doug once said in his podcast, Hyundai is and should be going for wild designs, they’ve got all to win and not much to lose. Hyundai is really pushing the envelope and them not being the center of attention is paying off…. Again, imo

    24:45 I think that would have to mean V2G/V2H. All of their E-GMP cars already have 15A V2L (with an adapter). Basically, this means the Ioniq 9 can power your home automatically with the proper equipment in the event of a power outage by simply being plugged into the charger, whereas with my Ioniq 5 I have to plug in a separate adapter and run extension cords to whatever I want to supply.

    I'm really glad to see the start/stop button on the gear selector stalk. I own a 2024 Santa Fe and the only thing I don't love about it is the placement of the start/stop button. From the driver seat, you can't see it, and even after 3 months of ownership, I still haven't developed the muscle memory to just find it. Putting it on the stalk make so much sense because the very next thing you do after starting is to put it into gear, so your hand is already there, and even if you can't see the button, your thumb is basically right there already.
    Hyundai has come so far in the last 10 years with quality and feature sets. Even their styling is among the most interesting and unique in the car industry. We won't know for 10 years or so how these hybrid and EV powertrains hold up, but my mid-sized 3-row SUV gets 40mpg and I really can't complain. I once said that I'd never own a hybrid, but the Santa Fe changed my mind completely. Hyundai simply offers more for less than any other manufacture. And i have no shame driving around in what is essentially a Dollar Store Range Rover.

    The ability of bi-directional charging needs to be mandatory in all electric vehicles. It's such a waste to have the equivalent of over 8 Tesla Powerwall just sitting in a garage somewhere. The battery in this (and many other EVs) can provide emergency power for days. But most don't have the ability to do so.
    Or people could use their cars to buy power when it's cheap and sell back during peak hours (like in California) which in turn means the car can slowly pay for itself.

      The only right side for a charging port is in the front bumper. Nissan had that figured out ages ago. Because when you pull in to a charging station, the machine is going to be right in front of you. That doesn't deal with the issue of how to charge at home, though; depending on which side of the garage it lives in, the best side could be either left or right. Ideally they should be making cars with three ports: one in the front bumper and then one on each side where the gas flap would traditionally be.

    The issue with the EV millage ratings is they are misleading.
    Sure, it can get 300+ miles on paper, but how many miles does it get with 6 passengers, with luggage in 40°F - 0°F temperatures in mixed city/highway driving.

      For real it will not do a 100 mile in high speed these vehicles is for the city stop and go doing less than 30 miles an hour

    • @Saddex
      @Saddex 14 годин тому +2

      For the RWD version, EPA range is estimated 335 miles.
      I would guess something around 250-270 for mixed driving in the conditions you describe for that one, probably around 250 for an AWD version. At higher temps, the RWD version would probably be able to do its 335 miles in mixed driving easily.
      EPA range tends to be quite accurate unless you go on pure highway driving. Though some EVs have still been able to get quite close to their EPA rating at highway speeds, especially GM's Ultium vehicles.

    • @Saddex
      @Saddex 14 годин тому +2

      @@MarshMellow-sh1ol there is not a single serious test out there where an EV rated for 300+ miles EPA won't be able to do even 100 miles at highway speeds. At worst it will be in the lower 200s, but more realistically between 230-260.
