Secondly, I love the joking about Aesop dissing dreamers, but when you said you just have to shift your mentality about dreaming and make sure it becomes a reality, that was as real as it gets. Even if this reaction doesn’t get the most views for you, it just got you at a least one more subscriber. Keep it up man!
So, this wasn't brought up in previous comments but all the art work so far is from Jermey Fish (shown at the end) including the work from None Shall Pass etc. He has a very distint style. After Rings Aesop dropped a single called Rogue Wave, and in the video it shows all of his personal art work.. Which is really.. really... good. Something to keep in mind if you ever do that video.
This is a bit of a prequel to Rings, released two decades apart. Deals with a lot of the same things, like devotion to art and developing those skills and not letting people's prejudice and petty shit fuck with your ambitions... Lucy is that ideal, that arch-type, that model artist who pursues her true-to-self creative passion free of conformity. An active dreamer, if you wanna hold onto that term, as opposed to a passive dreamer. Set out to create dope art, banged it out like a machine, and died having lived a complete life despite it not checking the usual boxes. Lucy died with no regrets while Aes is beating himself up for having to admit that he USED to draw and that he USED to paint. That's how it tends to go for most people. I always got the sense that her life went by uncomfortably fast. One verse age 7, next she's aged 37, third verse on her death bed at age 87. Gotta live it.
I like this song because I often feel bad doing what I think is right and best for me while everyone else around me wants something else. I'm busy, thank you much.
Keep up the effort homie. I would suggest "hold the cup" such a great song, but it will not be one of the easier to digest songs. Definitely worth the listen though.
