I think the 'cut through a graveyard...' line is referring to the number of his friends that have died over the years (Camu Tao, EyeDea, Kurt Hayashi), and him visiting them on his way to visit another friend that's died in another graveyard. It's a common reference in a lot of his songs too (Cycles To Gehenna, Bats, Abandoned Malls, Get Out Of The Car etc)
When I encounter the graveyards in this song, I feel like that's him trying to ensure he's alone. It's a place he's comfortable (he refers to himself as a ghost a lot, and he has dead friends he spends time with) that others are less comfortable and less likely to follow him. Idk, I'm an 80's kid and it was a common strategy that if someone is chasing you, you lose them by cutting through a graveyard. He's out there ensuring his solitude.
You should check out Cool Calm Pete. He used to be on El-P's label Def Jux but since then he's really sort of sunken into obscurity. He only put out two albums total, one solo album called Lost and one as part of a group called Babbletron. He also just featured on Kool Keith's latest album Serpent. His style is really relaxed and smooth, both in terms of rapping and production, and he's def super underrated
Loving your Aesop reactions, man! I finally subscribed for them. There's a brand new song featuring Aesop. It's called Waiting Around by Billy Woods. I'd love to see your reaction to it
@Dreamers Entertainment whatever the designation, I've been in one since 08. ...it's deep son. I hope u keep digging 🖖 'the sunken ship ~is~ the treasure.'
Aesop isn't outside the box, he is outside the boxable dimension.
Whoa 😮

I think the ending bit about the graveyards may have something to do with the concept of reincarnation. Good stuff
