@@zennar1537anyone with mobility for sumo will do better at sumo. even those leverages will be better at sumo given enough experience and comfort with it which will overshoot the conventional. but he is too heavy for sumo mobility
@patootie3529 Dead wrong. I'm 5'5", 190ish and I've see deadlifted conventional my whole life. Why? Bc I tried sumo MANY times and I'm stronger at conventional. I am NOT built for sumo despite my height. Sumo is easier for many but not everyone. Never make a blanket statement like that bc you'll always be wrong.
@@hititwithit I’m guessing it’s the cerebus deadlift bar because the ABS pro is coming up and that’s what they use, but I saw John haack’s video using it because he’s also prepping for the ABS pro and he said it’s just not very whippy like the kabuki bar is
Bet he's going to be the guy to pull 1000 lbs, raw, strapless, conventional. He pulled 438 kg/ 965 lbs in December I believe. That is the heaviest verified conventional raw deadlift. He also pulled 435, on a STIFF BAR, in a FULL MEET. One of the greatest deadlifts ever IMO. For reference, some of the other heaviest deadlifts in the same style: Benedikt Magnusson pulled 461 / 1015*** Andy Bolton pulled 437.5 / 964 (and of course his 455 / 1003 with a suit) Ken Cooper pulled 435 / 959 (in a full meet) Fernando Arias pulled 435 / 959 Chris Weist pulled 427.5 / 942 Jesus Olivares pulled 420 / 925 on a stiff bar, and 431 / 950 (although the lockout was a bit soft) in training. ***: Magnusson's lift was done in a somewhat sketchy competition, the plates were uncalibrated and never used again, supposedly every lifter hit a huge pr which they couldn't match afterwards. Some people think the plates were shaved and it wasn't actually 461. I don't know for sure, just thought I'd clarify
I don't want to be a ass and take away from him at all!!! But in competition. You need to have shoes. Now he is barfot. So he would probably lose one rep. I don't do 200kg for now. So you can say how weak I am!
That's an actual deadlift. Guy's a monster.
His body seems to favor conventional so it doesn’t count

Not true necessarily, he has a short torso and long legs, not optimal leverages for sumo@@patootie3529
Only 1 rep off the 400kg rep record at 120kg.....WITH NO STRAPS OR SUIT FFS
AND he looked like he had 1 more in him
He definitely left some in the tank
this is one of the greatest deadlift sets of all time. 400kg conventional no straps stiff bar. impeccable technique too
Is it a stiff bar?

stiff bar? 😂 are u blind😂 jk
@@thydognow now we both know you weren't joking because that's obviously not a stiff bar

didnt Benni pull 1015 raw?
This guy does it the old school way-incredibly impressive
This guy is built for deadlift.
Do my eyes deceive me? Definitely deserves an invite to Giants Live.
That.. was a beautiful and impressive set of real deadlifts. Major threat to some records if he stays healthy.
Kind of guy who peaks fast to his max potential.
Those proportions and leverages though😳 It's like he is made to deadlift... Not hating at all, just admiring
Can't wait to see him pull 1,000lbs in a meet!!
omg 5 reps? That's nuts
Very impresive. 5 reps without straps!!!!
Thought he was doing a 1 rep PR 😂
Has anyone ever done this on video before? Possibly not.
Holy shit!
Let this guy put on 10kg of bw, let him train in a suit and straps, and he'll pull 500+
And no sumo either.
Close grip bench is superior to wide grip bench.
Take note beta sumo soy manlets 🙏
Take note that Martin Manlette eats sumo smegma.
Take note, sumo soy spammer Martin is so beta and so soy!!
Only beta soy manlets pull sumo 🙏
Only Martin kisses Sumo Peter.
Convinced this is lifting vault’s second account
So soy everyday!!! Beta Martin!!!

Conventional doesn’t count here.
It only counts when you do the technique that is less suitable to you cause ‘oonka boonka tough man🗿’ or something

Him having no shoes on has barely any difference to having shoes on. Like it's only a couple of cm difference which is nothing.
@severeweatheralert6522A couple of cm makes a HUGE difference.. but I'm sure he has very thin and flat shoes for deadlifts.. not 3cm thick ones lol
