@@Knuckles-hl1fp holy shit, i completely forgot about that guy. 320 kg paused bench, longer pause, no leg drive, arch, scapular retraction, etc. and he was still rapidly progressing. If he had legs he would actually probably be an 800 contender. Maybe even more.
@joemama226 the thing aswell is he was very limited on his exercises in training because he couldn’t stand. Being able to do stuff like standing overhead presses would of helped him in training to match/surpass julius.

Julius sits on top of the bench press world and rightly so. As you point out his longevity is phenomenal. I am always pleased to watch him rep out 600lbs :)
But he was robbed by that misload and he'll never hit 800. It's been years now and he's nowhere close to hitting 800 again. Terrible to end his career on that note.

@@gabrieltremblay2423 none of them are better than the other, not for strength nor hypertrophy, this dude just copy pastes this everywhere. for strength purposes a closer grip will be better for the longer armed person (such as myself, my comp bench is quite close) and a wider grip will work best for a bigger person/with less mobility/with shorter arms. That's primarily why the majority of the huge powerlifters go with a wider grip. For hypertrophy both are great, naturally wider will be better for the pecs and shorter will be better for the triceps.

He has hit 600 for 9 in the past. Crazy strong.
He did 615 times 12 three years ago when he had 800 pounds but the spotters fucked up. He hasn't been the same since.
