I bought fx Maverick compact 22 cal in May 2024. It came with 11.4 gram hammer based on my scales. Shoots knockout 22 cal 25.39 grain at 958 fps with around 123 bar in rear reg, with hammer spring aftermarket tuner dialed to 5. Shoots well too. Too much hammer weight for 18 grain pellets imo. I am liking the slug performance so well I can live with the 11.4 gram hammer. 600 mm barrel superior stock barrel 1 in 24 twist.
Yes, FX has changed the hammer weight configurations several times since the release of this video. You can decrease the hammer spring pre-tension screw and lower the regulator if you are needing to shoot lighter pellets or lower velocities.
Hello..I added the heavier hammer weight to my wc.mk3. 22cal. From the slug kit I bought, but haven't added the pin probe yet. My reg is around 115/120. The weight added speed but my PW has no affect on velocity now. It shoots same speed at all settings. I've now run the adjustment screw all the way in and it still shooting the same speeds.? What's up with this? Do I need to decrease reg.
Well, my FX Maverick VP .30 cal came with the .25 cal hammer weight. I had to buy the slug power kit for the .25 cal in order to get the rated power out of my Maverick.
Sorry to hear that! If you are in the USA, FX USA is more than happy to send customers the correct hammer weight if the rifle was received with the incorrect weight.
@@910AirgunTuningandRepairs thanks. I already bought the slug kit and used that hammer, so I'm good. I do have another issue with my Maverick. I wanted to install the carbon fiber liner stiffener, but for the life of me, my slug liner will not come out of the gun! I've removed the retained screw, and even locked the tip of the liner in a vise and pulled with all of my weight and it wouldn't come out! Have you ever heard of such a crazy thing? It's like they arc welded my barrel liner to the barrel! I just put it back together and will revisit this later.
No, I have not heard of a liner getting stuck inside of a barrel before. If the liner lock is removed, and the liner is exposed, it should easily slide out. Shoot me an email if you would like me or FX USA to take a look at it, FoC.
Is it normal the hammer power adjustment wheel to turn past 7 and 1. I’ve only had gun for 1 day and notice the t turns past??? Thank you for this video!
The hammer spring preload adjustment (the internal adjustment screw) is likely over adjusted (backed out too far), thus the hammer is over powering the valve.
Something I would take great care over is the inside surface of that hammer housing. I'd be tempted to hold the rifle verticaly and drop it in rather than to insert anything in their.
is this the .30 cal 8mm hammer they want you to use in the new Dynamic instead of the tungsten hammer spring for the .25 Dynamic express 600mm I know they keep saying the 8mm head but never say the weight .
Greetings from Portugal! Do you know if the air tube parts (plenum, regulator, etc...) from the Maverick are compatible/interchangeable with the Wildcat mk3?
@@910AirgunTuningandRepairs my biggest problem right now is I installed the Sekhmet digital gauge, (degassed the gun obviously) and ran the 2nd reg open to flush then repressured and filled to 250 bar and started adjusting first reg slowly up with a target of 175, but as I got to 159 bar the adjuster screw was close to flush and just a half turn more it cut the oring and started leaking. Even though the gun was new I'd bought two rebuild kits so I pulled the regulator out and replaced the top one on the adjuster screw which was sheared in two. Ran the adjuster screw in four complete turns and repressured gun to 250. Again as the 1st reg adjustment screw reached flush with the rest of the assembly and the pressure was only 160 I stopped because obviously something is wrong. I did go ahead and finish the procedure to set the second regulator but set it to 135. I'm shooting the NSA 36.2 and can only get 905 to 910 (two other local guys are setting their regs higher and getting 965 to 970 with awesome accuracy. Hey 910ATR! Kudos on the very important information You brought in here… helped… Would help if You could share the length of springs too… in my .177 Maverick the Spring Cap (guide with micro adjusting screw in Center that goes over spring) rattles back and forth when un-cocked and the gun is shaken… Could be the shorter spring length?
I installed the huma .30 14 gram hammer and the spring that came with kit. I put it back together correctly and on adjust PW setting I'm getting 991 fps.😒. On 7 it is at 881 more or less. I put the power wheel back on as the took it off. What's up with that?
Too much hammer tension - I have found that typically the Huma weight and spring combined is too much hammer tension unless you plan on running over 200 Bar regulator pressures.
The power wheel should only turn in an increasing motion (1 -> 2 -> 3, etc). The indicating setting is the number at the 6 o'clock (bottom most) position.
You certainly can! It will fit and work. The .30cal weight is most of the time a little too extreme for the .22cal, so the .25cal weight (11gram) is a great addition
