Thank you for sharing Matt. I like the way you explain technical details. You make it sound easy. Happy New Year to you and the crew. Patriot Australia would be a good move. Cheers 🇦🇺
Aha what did confuse Me untill it clicked into place was that your talking about the first reg and setting it's pressure whilst pionting at the bottle pressure guage 🤣. It all clicked into place once I realised to ignore the bottle guage in my mind. If I understand this correctly then during the i dividual parts of botb processes both regulator settings are viewed on that same rear guage but that first regulator is inside of the housing close to the bottle guage and that's where my confusion came from. Have I got that right?
I only discovered your videos very recently and see how much I have been missing! This, like all your technical videos is absolutey spot-on; arrangement, illustration of points and pace are great. Thanks for the efforts.
hello I am French I should receive within two or three days the Maverick VP edition caliber 7.62... there are no transcribed subtitles in French available 😭😭😭😭 and the setting seems very complicated to me being new on this type of weapon ... I'm afraid I can't do it ... concerning the factory setting when I will receive it is it correct or I absolutely have to set everything again? I follow you from France and I really need your advice please... 🙏🙏🙏 thank you
Matt, I'm a big fan of yours, I live in Brazil and I really want to have an FX IMpact / Maverick, I just need the money. haha But as we don't have a lot of resources here, and I don't have a lot of resources myself, I would like to know if FX tend to have a lot of leakage problems and what I can do to avoid them. Which weapon would you recommend to someone who wants to shoot Slugs at 100 meters without worrying so much about leaks? Thanks for all the content you create, I learned a lot from your videos, including how to speak another language!
Leaks is an ever present threat regardless what airgun you have, it can happen with a 300 dollar Avenger or a 3000 dollar tricked out Impact. All it takes is ONE dust particle getting into the system and gnawing at an O-ring over time. So: Science the ever living so and so out of what airgun you want, then science the so and so out of the specific airgun you decide to get, you basically want to know how you take it apart BEFORE you get it. Also, stock up on O-rings :)
@@ToreDL87 Thank you my friend! I asked the question because I heard some people playing with FX and its leaks, I was a little scared. But as you said, they will all leak. Thank you and Happy New Year!
I wouldn't worry about leaks for the first three years bro you're covered on warranty. The Maverick is really simple to tear apart too. I just got mine I love it 22 cal value priced
I have a Maverick 25. built-in power kit with hammer 15 g and heavy slug liner. I want to shoot slugs from 36 grains, so I'm asking how much I should set the first and how much the second regulator.
Yep I love my value price 22 model freaking awesome gun first PCP ever I'm glad I went with FX I researched for years now finally pulled the trigger on one
Matt, Excellent details as always. You made a statement about your particular tune (170/150bar) being for "heavy slugs", I presume this will be in .22 cal., Can you tell us what weight slugs you are referring to?
Thanks Matt! The more I get to know this gun the more I like it! I have a 25cal and am still trying to find the right tune for my needs and every bit of info helps!
The first gauge shows how much air is in the bottle. The rear gauge is used to adjust to show the air in each side of the plenum. Do I have that right??
Great video. Hoping you are gonna cronny it so we can see the FPS & FPE with different grain slugs. It will help as a lot of us are waiting for the shipment to drop at Utah Airguns. Kind of a head start if you will.
Always such clear information, easily explained. But can you do more 12ft videos please for lads in the UK who don't require a FAC. I have no reg pressure reading in my new FX impact but it shoots amazing. I would love to know more about setting it up to achieve the beat results at 12ft. Tha ks and great videos
Im in Denmark and here we don't have uk limits so here we get the fac versions , but I am shooting in my backyard and would line to power it down if i buy one. But how do i switch the regulator/plenum around??? And how to adjust them when they are switched???
I haven’t done any adjustment to my Maverick 25 cal from what the factory settings were. Is there a way to see what the factory set the 1st regulator at without going through the whole process which would loose their settings.
Hello. I recently got my Maverick 25. But adjusting both regulators, the second one started to leak air out of the adjustment screw. He stopped doing it when he tightened the screw. Do you think the o ring was damaged? Or do I just start the steps again to regulate? The pressure gauge of the second regulator no longer moved.
Hey Matt. Love your videos. Maybe you can help me with this. I followed your. Irreconcilable way to tune and it feels like my FX Impact 3 is working a lot easier now but I am getting a wide speed readings. From 220fps all the way down to 903fps and several readings in between. Hello Sir, good morning. Great shooting! Hey I’m about to purchase a FX IMPACT Maverick.. I have a few question(since you’re an owner)! If I purchase the fx impact maverick in .25 cal and if I want to shoot the same rifle in .22 caliber. Do I purchase another barrel or do I just get a barrel liner ? Also is the power band for the .30 cal(7.62) the same power equipment for the .25 or is it a bigger tank involved and how big of a air tank can one purchase for the fx impact maverick
Hi Matt just bought the maverick. 25,my question is its dual reg but only one reg gauge as seen in your vid ???? Oh and I watched Ernies master class and he adjusted the first reg twice which in my eyes it looks wrong, but yours looks the right way could you have a look at Ernies I swear I'm right in what I'm saying.please reply
I’ve done exactly what you and other people have said and I cannot get over 611 on my chronograph. Any suggestions as to what I’m doing wrong or what I can do to get my FPS up in the 900’s?
Matt, I am new to PCP and I'm trying to setup my .25 cal Maverick for shooting slugs. It has a slug power kit, heavy slug liner and the carbon fiber sleeve installed. After installing the heavy liner my accuracy is worse, it's especially less consistent compared to the stock liner. After watching your videos about setting up your guns for the RMAC 2022 I thought I would try increasing pressure as you described your best experience at 1040 with your .22 cal. I had previously watched this video so refreshed my memory and following your examples I adjusted the regulators to 180 and 150 bar. The regs where originally set at about 160 and 130 bar. Note that I've not touched the hammer spring adjustment yet. I'm confused because with the higher pressure I'm seeing lower FPS across all power wheel settings, max'd at about 957fps (it used to be over 1020). It seems like each action I take makes things worse instead of better... Have I misunderstood / do you have any suggestions that would help?
Unfortunately the most important part of the reg setting is the setting of the second reg screw to vent it down. The "anti clockwise" movement is critical but is glossed over in the video. Backing it out to far will result in blowing out the o'ring on the high pressure side of the regulator screw. This is a bit dicey. I have plenty of spare o'rings having created this issue. This adjust reg adjustment is tricky but with practice it can be done when opened no more than flush with the reg body and firing a few shots as shown in the video.
The first simple tutorial ever from you ever matt... please do more like this with reg pressures that work with different guns and difference weight ammo...so all peaple may need to do is playing with the hammer spring and power wheel... it sounds simple but you guys over complcate everything you touch... and make me not want to buy an fx.. because you guys cant explain anything simply... like you did here for the first time ever
Any suggestions on what I should set the regulators for the 30 cal using 44.75 grain JSB on the sniper model ? It came stock with 110 on the second reg and not sure about the first yet as I have only taken a few shots. But at 50 yrds stock it is dead accurate. Thank you for any help you can offer. Broc
In "theory" it shouldn't affect it. The air in the bottle is HIGHLY compressed. Once air is compressed to 14 (or more) times atmospheric pressure, all water vapor condenses to liquid. The air pumps have water separators in them because of this or you'd be filling your gun with water and air. So ALL air involved in firing a round has Already been "dried" as it were. Hope this helps. Oh, and the speed of sound DOES change with air density (humidity) so that may slow a round down a bit but probably and unnoticeable amount. Cheers!
Always informative and thorough Matt. I always enjoy watching your content. If possible could you tell me if the new standard liner in .30 (1:26 twist) comes with the Maverick compact? Thanks! Cheers!

I backed it out so much that I couldn’t complete a cocking and had to screw it back in a half a turn. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Help. My .22 cal Maverick is set at approximately 950 FPS on power setting 7 using JSB 18.13 gr pellets. Every time I take it out to shoot after sitting up for several hours it takes several shots before the velocity stabilizes at 950. I’m curious how humidity effects the setup?
In "theory" it shouldn't affect it. The air in the bottle is HIGHLY compressed. Once air is compressed to 14 (or more) times atmospheric pressure, all water vapor condenses to liquid. The air pumps have water separators in them because of this or you'd be filling your gun with water and air. So ALL air involved in firing a round has Already been "dried" as it were.
