Thank you for the video. My CID was rebooting . I removed the radio faceplate per your instructions and re-flowed the solder on the connectors. It fixed the problem. Everything took less than 30 minutes.
Glad to hear you got it fixed!
Hey, which video is that, currently having same problem, Ccc is rebooting constantly... 😢
Very useful 👌 Thank you for the DIY
Thanks! I'm glad you found it helpful
Thanks for showing how those connectors open.
How do you remove the antenna
Thanks!
Do you know what does the ribbon cable is for?
Good video - but the crucial bit that I am stuck with is removing the lower fascia around the cigarette ash tray, seat heater buttons… how to get that off without breaking it!? Your video skips that part 🙃
Did you figure it out how to remove it?
Yeah, it has two metal pin-type clips at the bottom, so use the same technique as for the black plastic panel above. Put the tool in at the side, right down near the bottom of the panel and carefully unclip from both sides then remove
If that trim is never removed before, then its quite a challenge to pop it of. I would sugest to wigle it up and down while pulling.
So just got to the end of the video seemed you did it yourself too man i’m really worried so complete ripped the blue tape off the white ribbon idk what to do
Depending on how bad you ripped it off, you may need to replace the cable. Otherwise, if you can straighten out the pins at the end of the cable, you may be able to get it back into the socket. There's a few replacement cables floating around on eBay like this one: www.ebay.de/itm/133353248814 if you end up needing to replace it.
What were your symptoms??
Was your car not going to sleep and battery draining??
The reason I removed the radio here was to do a DIY that involved splicing in an AUX to Bluetooth module that would have natively integrated with the head unit. Unfortunately the module wasn't compatible, so I just ended up using the footage for a separate DIY.
@@FoulNews Thank you
So I accidentally ripped the blue strip off the white tape seen at 2:57. What is this, what did i mess up and what can I do. Please let me know thanks
The ribbon cable provides an interface between the volume control and pre-set stations, as well as the AM/FM mode buttons on the front panel to CCC head unit. The radio should still work and you should still be able to change stations etc... through i-Drive, but the volume control may be an issue. The cable can be replaced fairly easily if you can locate a new one.
@@FoulNews That problems explains why I lost all volume. You think this is what caused me to lose my aux feature too? I never had any problems till I did this
@@User-qu7pq It's definitely possible that the aux function has been disrupted by the broken cable as well.
@@FoulNewsQuestion is the e60 a ccc or cic unit? Also how do i access the ribbon cable? Is it just the front i’m taking off or much more?
@@User-qu7pq It depends on the year your car was made and what options it came with. At 3:16 you can see mine says CCC on the right-side sticker. If yours is CIC or CCC, it'll say it in the same spot. As far as cable removal goes, I believe you may have to remove the DVD drive from the unit, but I'm not entirely sure. I got lucky with mine and was able to bend the pins back in place.
Deffo not thet easy
You missed the part that I'm looking for how to remove damn it
3:29 is where it's removed. The only part that was cut was the part where I needed two hands to move the radio past the gear selector. It just pulls straight out.
@@FoulNews I meant the part with cover around ash tray. Tho I just managed to take it off so all good 👌
Lookin good Hoss
Nice thank, hoss1!
