- In this video I show you step by step how to install the Android Headunit hardware into your BMW. I also show you my ass crack and there's a guest cameo by my wife.
For this installation you will need:
- plastic pry tools to get the trim off
- phillips screwdriver for screws in the dash
- torx 10 bit to remove the old screen
- a pick it small flat head screwdriver to unto connector tabs

Great content as usual! One thing I recently found out, if your BMW E60/E61 has BMW Warranty and it goes in for warranty work which requires any type of coding, put your old iDrive unit back in the car.
My LCI E61 recently went into the dealer for a fault with the Sports Auto transmission selector and the dealer was unable to code the new selector because of the head unit, in the end I had to put the old unit back in to enable coding.

I love how you mentioned that the cars were build to not rattle and then just squeezed all the wires without felt protection into the dash ;)

Hi I want to say great video you did an amazing job all the wiring was correct I was going to do the same type of DIY video BUT....
I’ve recently purchased the andream head unit (all of them are the same just different names) US seller but it ships from China I’ve had it installed for about 2 weeks and I had to uninstall it.
1. Reasons being it take very long time to connect to Bluetooth.
2. it’s no instructions about the software.
3. no instructions or wire diagram to install backup camera that comes with it. (Small possibly you can fire the entire system if you don’t know what wire to tap into) + no local Auto Eletronic shops did not want to install it because of no wire diagram
4. I found that the car starts to drive a bit funny after I installed it
5. Those wires that you claim is not needed you actually need them with my BMW LCI E60 those wire harness communicate with my transmission.
Overall the head unit was useless gps got stuck depends on how fast your driving and Bluetooth toke 5-10 mins to connect.

Hi! On this video, i saw you connected the external MIC jack to AUX OUT with the jumper wire. You sure that is the correct way to set it up? or did you fix that later after the video
What did you do with the auxiliary connection??
I installed one of these and the underseat subs don't work through aux? I'm wondering if it's the headunit

Second, I've been wanting to do this to my 528 since I got it and my main questions are after so many months of use are you still satisfied with this product? does it function like it should? and would you have done anything differently? looking forward to the software video!

No. You have to install and an aux cable then code it to the car. If I ever find the time I'll edit the video that shows how to do that.
Hello, I have yet another question.
The AUX cable, did you route it from the android headunit to the AUX port or can I keep using my AUX to bluetooth adapter? Why even route it to the AUX port in the first place? There's no bluetooth on the screen or?
Hello. I have a problem. I have no sound and signal to my idrive unit. My car is original with just AUX. I understand i need a new adapter cable with AUX with, but why dont i have a signal to my idrive info?

Where does the audio jack from the new harness connect to? Does it connect to the original car audio Jack? I hope to get feedback. Thanks
Connects to the auxiliary in of your car. If your car doesn't have it you have to add it in.
will the control next to the hand brake still work along with all the other settings that is run on the screen.
Yes the iDrive keeps working. You can switch the screen out of Android and back into iDrive by holding down the menu button.
I have installed CCC Android in my BMW 520i series, all the conic, but the sound doesn't come out, why?

Uriginaly have 6.5 screne. Im upgrade to android 12 carplay . all work perfect,but switch screne to classic problem resolutions, after com to android factory settings and change resolutions not work for me. how to fix this ? Make diagnostic on ISTA D all Three Green only CID red ?

Just found your video whilst coming to a stop during my own install. Whilst preparing the install I was removing trim to run the microphone and noticed it was missing. Did yours have one or am I missing something? No mention of it anywhere in the instructions or website.
In mine the microphone is a little hole next to the screen.

On some functions yes, but not the full.

Yes for sure; It comes with its own GPS antenna.

Hi. I just mounted my Android Headunit and now the car won't start. I did measure it, and it says it has 11.5V. Is it time to get a new battery or what could be wrong? It's like cranking, tries to start 1sec and then completely shuts down
I don’t understand what you connected the aux cord too
I connectes that cord to the car's auxiliary jack. So audio from the android unit goes to the CCC and plays through the speakers. My car came with auxiliary but most don't and it needs to be installed and coded for the Android unit to make sound.

Hi ! I buy Carplay Android 12 Unit .You Connect rear camera - Use : red wire from RCA video cable connect to Blue 12v Power or connect to Red ACC detection line ?

Blue 12V CCD cable. Red is for ACC (other ACCessories). I just did it today and only gives power when you go reverse. Hope it helps!
Um so im geting no saund from the Bluetooth or UA-cam eni idea why?
Try to connect an AUX.
Could someone please tell me why when I connect to like Apple CarPlay it doesn’t play music through there, it only plays music the radio from the factory screen and even from there the channels sound staticky.. I need a solution!!
There is a secret menu, the one where you need a pin to enter the pin is usually 1314. There is a setting for auto aux or something like that. Turn it off. I'm making a video on the settings and I'll explain it better.

Great video man, thanks! Gotta question, did you have a M-ask as an original unit? Most sellers say it wont work with M-ask, only with the CCC or the CIC. Your thoughts?
I have CCC. I know it works with CIC but I'm not sure about M-ask.

What is that USB that you routed on the driver's side? What does it do?
It does whatever. I think I had a thumb drive with music plugged in. I also ran a cable to it to connect to the phone for android auto.
