    2023 . You are a legend. I just did a reflow today on the unit and it fixed my totally non-responsive navigation. I broke the fiber socket but nothing that cannot be "solvered" with some silicone heat gun. The temperature I used was ~ 400 degrees Celsius as lower values would not make the flex to "popcorn". Special care must be taken for the components near the uC.
    I hope this hold for a couple of years but I will come back with this information (hopefully not) ! Thank you again !

    Dude you saved my life :-). The CCC in my E92 (2006) has the same layout. Before I did a try in the oven with around 150 °C without success, more than 20 °C outside forced the CCC into reboot loop again. Then I just followed your video. I used nearly the same SMD station and infrared thermometer but a different flux, all cheap stuff from Amazon. What can I say... after months and more than 30 °C outside in the last weeks... the CCC is still working perfectly. Great tutorial and video, thanks from Germany!

      @@Andre-tc1wj I need to mention, that I tipped my flux-pencil into a screw cap of a plastic water bottle a few times to be able to get enough out of it and not pressing it onto the circuit board by hand. Then I used a small paint brush to get the flux onto the board, drop by drop. Worked great. I found the stuff you mentioned on Amazon. Though not available in my region, the reviews say it helped a lot of people im similar applications. I cannot give a definite answer towards this, but I guess it will do the same job as my flux did. BTW: My CCC is still working great, even during these hot summer days we have right now.

    Mister, like others here I'd like to thank you for taking the time to make that video. Thank you
    The first attempt for me was not a success but the second attempt worked!!!
    Here's what I did :
    -I used the same flux that you used in the video, ordered on amazon. I believe it's a important point here to remember.
    -BEFORE heating the board up, I tilted it so I could see the flux entering on one side and coming out on the other.
    -150 degree C max, constantly monitored with a laser thermometer.
    - I cleaned the fiber optic the rubbing alcohol, the right connector had glue on it and I could see crap on the lens.
    The rest is exactly as described in the video !

    Hello, great video thank you very much, what is the air flow that you used, minimum, half or maximum, once the chips reach around 170 degrees it's good can you stop heating the chips?
    I do exactly as you do in the video but when I remove the heat gun and I measure with the wireless thermometer it shows me approximately 110 degrees, is it obligatory that this value be at 170 degrees for all the electronic chips?

    • @PSICompanyPerformance

      yes there is risk of damage, thats why you should not maintain the gun in one place, you should hoover it around to heat everything evenly, if you use flux you will know when the chip is refluxed because you can see that the flux is boiling and the solder under the chip will be too, the trick is to put heat evely across the all chip.

    They are advertised on e- bay as rapair kit for that problem.
    Can you advised me what they are for ?

    Is the time you heated it in the video enough for the fix?
    I did the procedure in sync with your video, upon installation my screen only flashes in one color now. Before it was restarting and showing vertical lines.

    • @PSICompanyPerformance
      @PSICompanyPerformance  3 роки тому

      Yes its enough...but it depends on the temp you are using and also make sure that you dont heat one place to much and not enough on another side.

    • @PSICompanyPerformance
      @PSICompanyPerformance  3 роки тому

      Also make sure you use a good flux that is very important....

    Hello! What is the liquid you put on it? Is it absolutely necessary?

    • @PSICompanyPerformance
      @PSICompanyPerformance  2 роки тому +1

      thanks for watching
      the liquid is SMD Reflow Flux
      its necessary because it helps the solder to flow to the correct places at lower temps.
      there also paste flux and it works also but the incovenient is that you need to clean it after.
      you can get this stuff in any electronics shop for cheap.
      good luck

      the temp is around that on the surface of the processor it will fluctuate a little bit depending on you thermometer in mine i found that this is the optimal temp to work on these.

    Olá!
    Muito bom video, que continue a ter sucessos.
    Segui as instruções, por não ter encontrado com facilidade o flux em estado liquido, usei a pasta, também serve?
    Mas durante o aquecimento da placa maior, infelizmente toquei-a ligeiramente, ela deslocou e estalou, tentei colocá-la novamente na posição certa e continuei o procedimento.
    Durante a ligação, o comportamento foi o mesmo, e após alguns minutos notei alguma fumaça. Desconectei a unidade.
    Creio que tenha queimado algum circuito certo? Valeria tentar novamente?

      i m thinking you might have burned that processor (if it cracked), its very important to keep the temperature in check, otherwise this can happen (it has happened to me in the first one i ever tryed to fix one) iam very sorry to read that but i dont thinnk its worth to try again in this board.

    • @rishadamade
      @rishadamade 6 місяців тому +1

      apparently it’s not cracked, anyway i can check it again.
      Pretty sure wasn’t because of high temperature, i was checking all the time and gave space for the board to cool down as you shown.
      Will keep you posted about this processor, but i think you are right, it could be burned 😂.
