This is a very good video Keep it up. Quick question did you just jump in the locksmith business or did you do a bit of training and if so do you recommend a course or the self-learing path? And it would be nice to see you out in the field doing some jobs bro.
Hello and thank you for watching!!! I didn’t necessarily just jump into it and I do have some training from California institute of locksmithing. California institute of locksmithing is a school that will teach you the basics of locksmithing , I learned a lot but mostly residential and automotive is what stuck. I also took online course from the locksmith mentor and it’s a decent but dated course it goes over what my school did but some of it was an older way of doing things. I’ll never discourage someone and say don’t jump in but at the very least if you can take an online course to go over the basics that’s what I recommend. I’ve heard people do well the self learning path but if you do look into the laws of each service. For example if I make a car key for someone or do lockout, you need government ID like a drivers license, name, address, date of birth, phone number, plate/vin, make, model and color. And hold on to it for 2 years. Yes I do intend to do field videos very soon I appreciate the support and thanks for watching 😁
Thanks for all the videos. Just starting out myself and i find your videos helpful. Wanted to ask where you got your universal transponder shells from and also the stickers for the keys to replace the xhorse logo? Thanks?
Well you can get them from many different places Locksmith keyless,UHS hardware,American key supply but for these specifically key4.com as for the stickers Ali express also if you have business logo that’s what you can put on there.
Hello they have since been discontinued unfortunately 😢 but i believe you can find pdf forms on some websites or get a subscription to their app for 100$ a year. I’m sure there books out there , you will just have too look hard for them. Good luck to you and your journey man!!! 👍 Thanks for watching my content 🙏
Thank you Mauro!!! Well I’ve taken both an online and locksmith school. The school focused on the basics of all types of locksmithing. Once I understood the basics , I was able too start I personally started with friends and family at a discounted price but still made a profit. Then lots of practice with the lishi tbh is the most important part. I now help clients and learn as I go. I still got much to learn.
No Locksmith (yet) but i have a km100, Ultra and 508. Great tools. Remember some vehicles will need more that a clone. Ill say 608 pro. Is the perfect fit for that. A bit expensive but the capabilities are great euro, asian and domestic.... And us a full scanner.
Hi great video - I understand XP005 is cheaper option but im torn between XP005 and XP005L and mini plus- have you had any issues cutting with XP005? my understanding is the only differece between the 2 machines is you get touchscreen with the L and larger cutting space but this comes at extra £400/$500 I cant see how its worth it? what do you think? any help is greatly appreciated :)
Well bro it depends on what you value. The xp00L will give you a cleaner work area for the price. If you want that sure get it but for me I didn’t value that at the time which is why I got the model I did. The mini plus does residential as well so if you plan to get into it in the near future cool.
thanks for the reply I think i may go for the mini plus for its offline use, especially since your video regarding the diffculty of updating the 005 weekly - keep up the good work @@Beginner-locksmith 👍
I got most of the equipment, have some universal smart keys but I'm stuck with how to prepare slot/flip keys. Could you show/explain how you set up a flipkey with transponder, blade and remote? Please
@@Beginner-locksmith all key bladed cars. Do you need to have one key for all the separate brands or could you have for example a shell that you would match with correct blade and transponder and generate?
It appears that you don't stock the oem look alikes. Xhorse is ok but lots of cars it can not do. I started out 1 year ago and spent about 3000$ on most common keys. KM100 is a must have at its low price. Good luck.

😂 yeah i completely agree. I heard good things about T-ninja 1000 from my mentor. There’s was also hype around the pro but it’s just been a brick for me.
@@johnholding107your correct man. I came to that conclusion not too long ago. I posted a video about getting the km100 not too long ago. Thank you for the input man I really do appreciate it 👍

If I understand what you are asking, take the car remote board out of the shell and it should fit that way.
@@Beginner-locksmith im asking if there's a universal slot/flip key like the the universal smart keys?
Can you give me example of a car that you would need it for?

No I have many blades for various key ways. I used the GTL set to get started.
hi, where did you get those books?
Hello Andy
I believe the books have been discontinued but you can get a yearly subscription on there app for 100$
How are you finding customers?
I’m currently mostly using Yelp but it’s competitive

You definitely need the KM100 to use as a programmer. As a beginner it will program every car you are capable of doing at this point.
