We are loving watching the process of you guys fixing up the bus.
I must admit I know very little a about panel beating but you never know when information like this might come in handy xx

Thanks so much! It's hard work, rewarding and frustrating all at once 😂
Yeh, never in our wildest dreams did we think we'd be making these types of vids but we are just keeping to our truth and that is sharing our adventure as it comes, whatever it may be. Hopefully, once the exterior work is complete the inside build is a bit more fun for us to film because we do miss making more frequent fun vids.
AND we do want to show, that even if our work is not perfect, anyone can do it with time and patience. Nothing is unachievable :)
Have we convinced you guys to go down the rabbit hole yet? 😜

How much does it cost on average to get rust removal and repaint on a whole toyota coaster?

Hey mate, it's a case of how long is a piece of string... unfortunately!
We had a couple of quotes that said upwards of 10k to do this bus AND they didn't have time to do it for at least 6 months. Those quotes were for only parts of the rust we uncovered so we would've had a half-done job if we'd paid someone else, or the bill would've kept creeping up to a point we would not have had the money to pay.
I'm sure if you were to look around you will get a variety of answers, from extreme prices to cheaper backyard quotes and everything in between. We opted to do it ourselves as part of our life philosophy is to not let money get in the way of living out our dreams.
Our budget to complete the bus would have been blown out had we had someone else do the rust repairs. Instead, we had a go, built the bus within our budget and we're on the road. She's probably not going to stay completely rust-free, but she's nearing 40 years old and if we can get the next 5-10 years from her, then we are already well ahead.
As for paint, we never considered getting someone else to do it, once again would've blown our budget. We did get a quote for a wrap and that was 5k from memory. As it was our Raptor Paint job, completed by us, came in around 2.5k from memory. We do have all the exact numbers of the entire build which we will share at some stage, hopefully soon. Might even make a snappy video with the breakdowns... maybe it'll help- someone out there :)
