- Black and gray f150 is a 1993 4x4 5.0 302 with Flo-tech longtube headers 2 1/4in straight pipe.
Dark red f150 is a 1992 4x4 5.0 302 with 2in straight pipe with dual cherry bomb glasspacks
Red truck has a deeper sound! i like that one
that would be the glass packs
I want duel glass packs. Just for my city folks.
Straight pipes don't filter out high frequencies. The glass packs do!
Iron Manifolds + 2" pipe + glasspacks = The sounds of the 70's and 80's!
*ALL* of our trucks sounded like this!
I think this is all about preference, the straight pipes have a more raw, aggressive sound while the glass packs have a smoother sound and deeper rumble
red one sounds way better
I love the rumbling idle of a “cammed” V8 breathing through long-tube headers and turbo mufflers! Much more subtle until you open the throttle!
I have a 1993 long-bed 4x4 with a 351W.
Red one sounds goooood it’s more clearer
2 nice sounding trucks, very well done video too, straight to the point and nice comparison
glass packs such a beautiful, mellow, rolling sound!!
glass packs everytime
i like the raspy in the longtube heders
I bet their neighbors love them
Mine will once I pull my borla and cats off butt I have an H.O Wich will sound better with straight pipes
its a trailer park they don't give a rats ass lol
the cherrybombs have a smooth growl where the popping is timed prefectly, but the straightpipes have a wide, open roar, but the pops are uneven and sound like a fouled sparkplug. regardless, I'd be happy with both sounds.
I tried the strait pipe on my truck, I didn't like it lol I just got a 2 1/4 inch glass pack. I prefer the growl of a glass pack more than a screech of a strait pipe. Yours sounds very nice!
Early 90s f150 are fucken sick.. love those designs.. nice truck bro
R.I.P Headphone Users!! -.-
Too late, im already deaf...
both sound good, but the cherrybomb glasspacks are better soundin
vwbussesareforever I think a combination of both the glass packs with long tubes would sound the best
Nice vid guy..like the straight pipes...gives it a nice chunky sound
They both sound awesome!
I love the laugh at the end. also I like the glass packs if theyre on a sports car but the straight pipe on trucks.
Me too! I love the grey better. Sounds throaty and loud. Sounds tough.
The red one dosnt sound like it could pull an acorn from the ground.
The grey one sounds like it has torque.
The red on sounds like its got tweark.
The last one sounds awesome!
they both sound and look good. nice trucks man !
I bet the neighbors love these guys
Glasspack sounds sick
I agree I have an unknown brand of glasspack on my truck with 24" resonators and it evens out the tone and sounds really deep doesn't pop as much.
Music to me ears! Very cool!
Hey man the gray ford with straights sounds awesome!!! Are they true duals or a Y-pipe??
we used to heat up our pipes and then stick a hose in em and run cold water up in there to crack the glass :)
had glass packs on all my lowriders back in the day.
got flowmasters on my lowered chevy silverado, but this vid has made me decide to stick some glass packs on it.
headers and straight pipes without a doubt sound pure bad ass
Just got me one that identical to the green one. Solid truck. Neighbors hate it.
Definitely the straight pipes. sounds sick. Just cut one of my friends exhausts today.
They both sound nice!
great vid man they had a show on speed about cerrybomb and it sounded great
Would love to see you ran the pipes for the duals around the transfer case. I have a 95 F-150 with a cat-back Dynomax exhaust that has some rumble, but nothing like either of your trucks! Kinda prefer the sound of the cherry bomb set-up personally.
i have a 79 ford f100 ranger with a 302 motor and c4 transmission. i put straight pipes on it from the manifold straight out the back and have 2 cherrybomb glasspacks but i can seem to get the sound that im looking for, i dont hear any popping when i let off of the throttle to slow down. Where am i going wrong at or what am i missing? Any suggestions?
the glasspacks give it that deep ballsy sound.
the cherry bombs sound sick
Glass packs always sound better than straight. Straight makes a lot of noise but the noise is unpleasant. Glass packs give the noise a pleasurable tone :)
I have always loved the sound of cherry bombs especially after burning out !
Both vehicles sound great!
love the gray one!!!!
they both sound great
Im a glasspack fan and thoughs sound amazing
hell yea man both trucks sound badass
I used to have a ext longbed. I miss it so much now :(
I think the straight pipes sound more raw and mean, it works well on a truck. the glasspacks sound fucking mean too but in a more refined way. both sound great, thanks for the comparison.
red is better
I got a glasspack on my 93 F150 with a 351 Windsor, sounds great!
Both sound good.
my dad had an old jeep pickup with a 351 windsor and it had glasspacks their the best
Do you get the same mpg improvement you do with the exhaust system or does the straight pipe leave it the same?
sounds sweet man
they both sound good but that 93 made me get goose bumps. fuck yeah! :D
straight pipes always sound as if the motor is lugging on the big end I've ran em both and went back to the packs every time. now straights do sound like a beast while shifting out but both does that great
them trucks looks nice. I got myself 1996 f150 4x4 with 302 in it 170,000 miles on the body and engine and still going. i use it for hauling heavy stuff and metal scrap and i use it as daily driving too. never lets me down true BUILT FORD TOUGH
Ok thanks man, btw how complicated was setting up the headers? What is the process you go thru to add them?
Glasspacks ALL THE WAY !!! ... Love 'Em ... I Got Dual 30" Cherry Bombs on my 1983 F-350 351 Windsor... LOVE THAT SOUND !! Great Post BTW.
glasspacks sound badass!
They go me beat😂😂😂😂 I was running straight headers then went with Trush muffler, 3.25in pipe with a 4in tip soon to be dualed. How would that sound
The red truck also doesn't have resonating tips which give a deeper sound.
They both sound kick ass
The glass packs actually sound good in this vid
those cherry bombs sound pretty good
I want same setup in this red truck on my truck.
I wander if the 2 inch pipe can be heard well in cab. I want one thst can be heard with good sound but isn't a Neibors disturber or ticket getter.
Any help greatly appreciated!
The red one as a super nice raspy tone, best v8 sound for my taste
thatd be a great setup
Yup o like my glass packs now lol, I was wanting to cut them off but I like glad packs 😂
cool vid
I got a 460 big block with stock manifolds and 3 and a half inch pipes with 16 inch echo tips and it is so flipping loud !
They are both amazing
They are both amazingly junk*
Upinya ooo we got us a hater
Very useful comparison, thanks!
well its not my vid, and I have a 1997 Chevy. Its currently at the shop getting flowmaster super 10s, (same thing as cherry bomb extreme), and I dont have headers but ive heard its not hard at all except for loosening the EGR from the manifolds. But with longtubes, you may have to jack it up a bit. Im lookin at flowtech headers too.
the red one sounds mean man. Not raspy at all. pure mean ass ford!
I like the red one it sounds good
I like the headers with the glasspacks
Neither truck had headers and glasspacks. The gray truck had headers, but was straight piped... Thus why it was so loud. The dark red truck had stock manifolds but had the glasspacks. Reread the description...
Hey dude with the glass packs put some tips on your exhaust and let me tell ya it will sound even better! do a 18 inch tip with 4inch outlet!!
Zachy Sack does that make it louder? I’ve been told it doesn’t do anything
I like both trucks! I'm considering going with Flo-tech headers and cherry bomb extreme mufflers with 6inch Magnaflow tips? I'm looking for a load throaty sound to go along with my 95 Chevy. Would you consider this a good purchase?
what would a straight pipe with glasspacks and longtube headers sound like?
got to love waking the neibors in the morning
They both sound amazing, which one would you recommend for my truck??? I have a 96 f-150 xlt 5.0 302 4x4... Crew cab, short bed... These trucks sound awesome, which way should I go???
You want more power or empty noise? That's all you need to ask yourself. Headers and the bigger exhaust improve your throttle response and gain a little power, while the small cherry bombs just sound cool.
Got a video of the black and gray one cruising?
Love my glass pack
I love the straight pipes sound but, it isint getting enough back pressure
20 seconds is the best part of the whole video
i like both sounds. Straight pipes are loud.
I love when the two top comments agree with each other.
and to dude saying it's the glass inside them it's never been a pack with actual glass in them it's fiberglass packing around the inner straight thru baffling
Your an idiot. Everyone know glass means fiberglass, their not called “fiberglass packs”
@kargmeister1337 well dude if you have like a smaller size pipe it wont bellar as loud and the only bends in the exhaust are the first 90 to go under the cab and the 90 out the sudes just past the doors and no 02 sensors its all new pipe
hey boss your grey truck sounds awesome, can you give me the info on what brand and things like the exhaust?
Glass packs are always the best. Deep and throaty without being too loud
Keep rockin the southern flag
Fuck that
LOVE THEM FUCKIN STRAIGHT PIPES!!!
got a 97 k1500. thinking bout doing some straight pipes with headers. what did you pay for the setup and what manufacturer?
@nelerser you can get a tuner or just get a set of headers that have the o2 bung so you can still use the o2 sensors thats what i did
my brother's 92 f150 with a 302 would shoot flames about 2 feet out of the pipes when he would rev it. all that was done to it was straight pipes
straight piped sounds good at idle & glasspack sounds good @ high rpm's
i have strait pipes on y pipe is that true duel strait pipes?
both of em im down with straight pipes but i do like the pop of glasspacks
did you cut the pipe right after the o2 sensor and put pipe in place of the old cats on the red one?
i have a question for everyone...do u guys keep ur factory cat.converters on? when u dual it out?
what kind of glass pack did u use for your 92 i have a 80 350 im trying to finish the exhaust work on it im running on y pipe rite now cause i took the stock muffler off but i like it sounding mean
so if i get dual cherry bombs and have straight pipes going into it and have exit tips my 302 will sound just like that?
