- 1986 Ford F150 with 5.0L. 2.5" true duals with 5 inch tips.
Also now that i rewatch this, it might be after i redid suspension with 3/4 ton springs up front, and 1 ton leafs in the back. and new 31 inch tires.

That sounds AWESOME!! Love the truck too! The old fords are some of the best looking trucks ever made. Add loud pipes to them, can't get much better than that.
My dad has a 1976 single cab Long bed and a 1986 F-150 XL single cab short bed

That's a pretty truck man. Nothing like an old ford with straight pipes. Sounds better than my 2013 5.0
I put Flow-tech long tube headers an true dual 2 1/4 straight pipes with 6inch tips on my 95 f150 5.0 with no cats or mufflers. It's extremely loud it might be a little louder than this.

Wow. I'll be honest, the first time I watched this video (probably 4 or 5 months ago) I thought this was one of the worst sounds I've ever heard. Now that I watch it again (with headphones this time) it sounds so good! I'm kinda jealous lol.

I have this same truck. 86 she just ticked over 300,000 a month ago, runs fantastic, stil loads of power only, mines one of the first fuel injected that year. Also dueled too, mine break off right before the rear tires, (have recently learned thats elligal in my state) ha ha. Nice truck right here. Props.

sorry for long reply but a 302 may be a bit underpowered for pulling that, i havnt had issues with mine except smog pump locked up and toasted the belt. just general maintenance and they run for long time
bed is original. I've repainted the truck and in the process replaced some rust with new metal and also found its had previous work done to the box and doors. I'm doing a complete frame off restoration custom build now with a 92 1 ton :)

Nvrmnd it looks just like mine thought it had the straight six. Still sounds good.
actually, They never offered EFI until mid 86. There were two types of 86's made that year. MFI and half way through the year, the started to offer EFI. nice sound by the way! I've got an 86 150 MFI 5.8L with the 4bbl Holley. Great truck
My dad used to have an 85 F150 5.0 that he bought new, and it was EFI.

yea it has dual tanks, both pipes are run under passenger side, i could take pics if wanted. and it was cheap 5 percent i did myself. getting professional 5 percent soon

yeah if i had an older ranger id do a stack for sure. a buddy of mine bought an old s-10 with a 2.2l engine and a stack. i haven't seen it though

nice truck! I have the same thing. I think i saw it has duel tanks. how did you run the pipe on the drivers side with the tank there? and what level tint is that?
does it have the pipe cut out that the o2 censor is in?
great sound brother, im looking at pickin up an 86 150 2wd with the efi 5.0l to haul my race cars. Would that beast have any problem with that and is there any issues youve had with yours?

Buddy of mine had a ranger with the v6 and a single stack... was a fuck around truck and terrible for hangovers
roughly the same. tad louder but this would be a close comparison. remember i don't have cats so keep that in mind

i think yours sounds pretty damn good, id just get rid of cat or put in some high flows and make it dual exhaust. thatll make it louder and not as mellow and smooth
im gonna hollow out the cat and if that doesnt help then im getting a high flow. im putting a take off video on right now

Straight pipe is a constant pipe from the headers or manifold all the way back. Just cutting it off won't be the same. And after cutting out the cats and resonater there will be no pipe left
not a bad sound, trying to get my truck a deeper tone than it does,, have any ideas??
maybe run a pair of super 44 mufflers? I have a SI/SO super 44 with longtubes, 2.5" duals to single 3" and 5" single tip on my daily driver 99 yukon. The flowmaster deepened it and got rid of that crackle and pop vortecs usually have

Be careful. I got 5% on mine and didn't get a ticket for a year and a half, then I got a bit to cocky with them up going through town and i got pulled over.

nope, efi. 85-86 they introduced efi into these trucks if i remember right. speed density setup unlike newer MAF style

Nice truck man , good sound to. I just bought a 1986 f150 check it out on my videos . I honestly think it's one of the cleanest trucks in my area.
