My Reaction To Bee Gees! - Too Much Heaven
ua-cam.com/video/a5JkOgcuklo/v-deo.html
I have been listening to the Righteous Brothers since I was a tween. I'm currently 68, and I have NEVER gotten tired of hearing and experiencing their songs.
I just turned 68 also but when I listen to this song I'm a teenager again and so many memories fill my heart and mind
🙏🏽 ❤️
Wow! Same here.👍
The most played song of the 20th Century. The hype is well deserved. Almost 60 years later and still great.
Definitely lives up to it! Thanks for your support j!
Most played song of the 20th century even after coming out 65% of the way through it.
Mind boggling,isn't it?@@seanmillette4323
Should've lived this era. The music always got into ones bones.I'm 73❤
🙏🏽 ❤️
There will never be another two decades like the 60’s & 70’s! Period! Ten stars😂 The original blue eyed soul! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😎
Besides these young 24 year old men at the time being consummate professionals and performers many people overlook the precision timing of these guys they don't miss a beat and they don't miss a note absolutely spot-on laser perfection.
Definitely skilled!
Absolutely no question that it is more than worth the hype, beautiful song brilliantly sung.
Definitely Dave!
Blue eyed soul like never before…❤❤…grew up loving this song..still love it at 65 years young 😊
No auto-tune back in the day! Just beautiful and natural voices!
No enhancement needed 👌🏽 Thanks for your support Shawn!
In the 60's we didn't know what they looked like. We used mostly radio and records. We loved to slow dance and make out to the Righteous Brothers. They were magic. Ebb Tide, Soul and Inspiration, play em.
Saw the brothers in Reno years ago, them boys could flat ass sing. No loss in sound being live. Just God given tallent.
Lucky you got to experience their greatness live! Thanks for your support Don!
Arguably the best duo of all time. Pure talent, perfect pitch.
Amazing group! Thanks for your support Suzanne!
Well, the real brothers Everly had some hits with their close harmony..
Good to know! Thanks for your support Peter!
And NO auto-tune.
What about " Simon and Garfunkel ?
I’m 74 now, but I saw this live on tv…maybe late January or February 1965, when I was 16. I enjoy your reactions👍👍👍
I know your initial viewing of this had you amazed! Thanks for your support Stephen!
❤yess me too
Oh my, these are my guys I listened to in 1964 when I was in high school. We fell in love with them. I have every vinyl record album in my record collection. ❤❤❤
Glad you still have these gems in your collection! Thanks for your support Maryann!
I saw them in the 70's when I was a teenager, Bill and Bobby were the best! Blue eyed soul, I am glad that race doesn't matter to you when it comes to music. Music has no color barriers, when it's great it's great no matter what racial background!
Yes I love it all! Thanks for your support Kim!
Thanks for sharing. This came out in 1964 --- I was 15 years old ... and I fell in love with them. And no auto-tune in those days or extras to make you sound great. Just plain God-given Talent. :)
Glad you enjoyed it
The female singing group, The Blossoms, which included Darlene Love, and a young Cher sang backup vocals on this great, great song.
Great to know Stev! Thanks for your support!
@@KingGreatnessKG my pleasure 😇. But you’re the King who is playing all these great songs of my youth.
You were lucky to grow up in this era! I am glad all of this music is still alive!
You were not the only one to hear this on radio and think they were another colour. I requested this song every week at our local dance. Our band did a really good job of sounding like this.
Thanks Karen
Music is the universal language. The Righteous Brothers were masters.
Yes music connects us all! Thanks for your support John!
Ive been loving the reactions of this generation to the genius of these two and their producer...
Every writer and every soul that they touched.
MASTERFUL!!! Music has no color line!!! Love one another!!!❤
Thank you ❤️
Hey King of The Mix, The Righteous Brothers not only earned their name, they also live up to it, as you will never go wrong with them because these "Blue-Eyed-Soul" singing brothers sound is truly "Righteous" and they never miss!!!
I’m finding that out now! Thanks for your support CR!
@@KingGreatnessKG The support is truly my pleasure...Keep up the good work!!!
🙏🏽
Wouldnt it be amazing if we could all feel like this about each other no color judgement.❤
The way they got their name was they were touring in the south and when they finished a gig in New Orleans a guy stood up and said, brothers, that was righteous!
Good to know!
Thanks for your support Jerry!
Black and white was all we had in the 60’s. Any technology was in its infancy. This was a live performance on a TV variety show.
They were called Blue-eyed Soul because of their voices! They had all of the women in love with them. They could seduce girls with their singing!
I can tell they definitely had the ladies lol.
Thanks for your support Kelly!
Have you seen the women reacting to this song? The magic still works!
Before they became famous after watching them perform someone from the audience yelled out their praise by saying "that was righteous brother! Thus the duo took on the name Righteous Brothers. You won't be disappointed if you check out
"(You're My) Soul & Inspiration" .
Thanks I’ll check it out!
The Righteous Brothers never miss together or solo🥰
That’s great chemistry! Thanks for your support Teresa!
The Righteous Brothers have nice music from back in the day, that clean cut music that even a baby could listen to. We had pure soul music.
What a time! Thanks for your support Dorothy!
The first concert I ever attended was the Righteous Brothers. They were a great live show.
Glad you got to experience that! Thanks for your support Mike!
All we heard on radio and tv was this song everyday for over a year, it was the most played song ever recorded.
The numbers are still rising til this day!
Now listen to Bobby Hatfield’s soul in “Summertime” and Bill Medley’s soul in “I Just Want To Make Love to You”.
Added to the list! Thanks for your support.
Both perfect recommendations based on your reaction
Thanks for your support and suggestions Duncan!
I agree with both of these suggestions. It's just unfortunate that there is no live version of "I Just Want To Make Love To You". It's a Stone Cold banger.
Both of these guys have awesome voices and they sound so great together. They got their name from the soulfulness of their sound. If you really want to hear some soul, listen to Bobby Hatfield singing "Summertime".
Adding to the list for future reaction! Thanks for your support Ernie!
They call this Blue Eyed Soul, but White people have green & brown eyes too, so I just like to say that, a soul, has never had a color, & The Righteous Brother's were a once in a lifetime treasure, for our ears & our souls.....loved your reaction King of the Mix, and so glad to your are enjoying your musical journey 😊
Thanks a lot Sandy!
Stunning aren't they? What gifted guys. 😊💕
Definitely! Thanks for your support!
I'm 71 years old not been listening those two since I was about eight or nine years old and they are awesome I'm so so so sorry we lost Bobby in 2003 but their music still lives on and yes Bill he still seems but it's just not the same without Bobby
Yes that’s unfortunate but thankfully we still have the music to pass on to younger generations! Thanks for your support Phyllis!
Righteous Brothers are icons! Absolutely love this! Love your reaction!
Thanks for your support Anita!
He really makes you feel every bit of those lyrics. I love that slight raspy tone on the high notes. Also the formal look is just a lost art . Loved your reaction 👏👏👑
Yes I love a raspy singing voice. Thanks for your support Charles.
Fun Fact, One of the background singers in this video is Cher. We had Pure music back then
That’s crazy! Thanks for your support!
5:14 "we had..." Perfectly pitched, perfectly matched and together to the millisecond. In the dark...
Harmony doesn't get any better than that.
Harmonizing was perfect! 👌🏽 Thanks for your support Kuma!
"Soul and Inspiration" (video ). "You'll Never Walk Alone" ( video) "Rock and Roll Heaven" ( video). "Old Time Rock and Roll"
"Summertime" (video/solo by Bobby Hatfield)
"Just Want To Make Love To You" ( featuring Bill Medley...from album)
I will add all of these to the list! Thank you so much for the recommendations and your support Shelly!
All of them songs you said yes awesome you better believe it
@@phyllisrogers847 I can’t wait to hear them and react to them for you!
TV was black & white back then. I remember when we got a color TV in the late 1960s. Magical. Oh and teenaged Cher is one of the back-up singers.
Great moment for you to experience both eras of television! Thanks for your support Sarah!
Great reaction! ❤ I’ve heard that between these two singers, they can sing every 88 keynotes! No wonder this song was rated so high... and for so many decades :) amazing!
Amazing fun fact! Thanks for your support Carrie!
Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield started out as members of The Paramours. In 1962, the two decided to leave the five-member group to form a duo. They found their name at a show with the Paramours when a fan shouted, “That was righteous, brothers!”. Peace out.
Great fact! Thanks for your support Steve!
Black and white wasn’t for aesthetics, it is before color TV. This was a live performance on TV in front of an audience.
well , they aren't known as " blue eyed soul " for nothing Look , they were inducted into the R and r Hall of Fame in 2004 , and this song was THE MOST played song of the 20th Century . Unchained Melody has been covered over 670 times , but Boobby Hatfield , here , has THE version ....... They are up there as all timers ...PERIOD >!!!! PS ...Cher was one of the back-up singers .
No it was in 2003 cuz Bobby had died later on I'm not year
Good to know! Thanks for your support James!
Thanks for your support Phyllis!
Both Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley grew up, listening to rhythm and blues of the 50s and imitated much of what they had heard from the black soul groups.
I love that they explained when they first started singing together they couldn’t agree on a name and at one early performance someone in the crowd yelled out, that’s righteous brother! And that’s when they decided
Haha interesting story. Thanks Christy
Temptations are my all time favs - white and black we are very much alike as much as they are trying to pull us apart - music brings people together - love and kindness regardless of color - we are finally realizing it ❤❤❤❤❤
❤Love this classic song.
Definitely! Thanks for your support Irene!
1964...an all black Choir on live TV...history was being made that day.
It doesn't seem like that much today, but I remember how upset some of the adults were!
not exactly all black. A certain young girl in the back row is Cher !
I came of age listening and dancing to these guys.
1st movie I remember seeing in the theater had this song in it. After hearing it a few thousand times I still think of a Tomcat buzzing the tower.
This was called blue eyed soul. Side note Cher was one of the backup singers.
Great to know! Thanks for your support Dianne!
I really appreciate how well you captured so many nuances of this performance
Thanks Pam
Elvis loved to hear them sing this even though hr
e sang it too They were a class all their own.
Definition of harmony! Live - no studio acoustics
Definitely! Thanks for your support Jim!
I love this song, but I love Soul and Inspiration more
I added it to the list for future reactions! Thanks for the support Rob!
Ahh the look of "I'm sorry, whaaaat?"
That's my favorite part of watching these reactions.
Blue-eyed soul at it’s finest!!!!
Yes Tina!
The best song ever
Welcome to Blue Eye Soul from the 60s.
Thanks for the introduction and thanks for your support Red!
I'm a 73 year old great grandma who was a teenager when they were popular. Love this video from live TV .
I enjoyed watching your reaction to this song. You're right. Music doesn't have a race, it's universal & for most it brings people together.
Saw the Righteous Brothers in San Diego @ the Community Concourse with my high school sweetheart & love of my life, Sharon, in 1965. They were AMAZING. Total class, tuxedos, orchestra....WOW. Sharon & I spent an unforgettable & great night together. Blue Eyed Soul is the best & they are the best of the best. Miss Bobby.
Live TV, on a black & white tv.
Do not compare this man to Lurch. He was true talent. RIP
The man who played Lurch was talented in a different way
It wasn’t a comparison talent or personality wise. It was a playful joke in comparison to their height & tuxedo. Thanks for your support J!
Back in the 60s I listened to this song over and over and over again and this isn't the first time I watched this video. More like the 5th time.
Thanks! Appreciate you
Sung live no auto tune. We lost so much.
Definitely! Thanks for your support!
You must hear the Righteous Bros perform “All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You” featuring Bill Medley. You talk about soul, it is the epitome of soul.
I’ll add to the list for future reaction! Thanks for your suggestion and your support!
David Ruffin is the man. My favorite genres (ones that really get to my core) are Motown/Soul and Rock/Metal.
Yes he was the man! Thanks for your support!
Lurch!?! I always, from the time I saw this when it was originally broadcast, thought Bill Medley looked like an undertaker. He's an amazing looking guy. So is Bobby Hatfield, really. I've seen this clip hundreds of times and I still click on it with real anticipation. It's an epic performance and I loved your understated reaction.
60 years later and still a great song.
And that is how it was done back then. Blue Eyed Soul.
As a duo, they are the goat.
Yes they are. Thanks for your support Keith!
Back in 1965 very few people had color TV and few shows were filmed in color.
This performance was righteous.
Haha!
Absolutely underrated!
I think he's hot! Tall yes. Handsome yes! What a voice! Together they were the hottest duo in music at that time. This came out 1 year before I was born.
This is a timeless song.
When Bill Medley (The Righteous Brothers) sings "I Just Wanna Make Love to You" even David Ruffin will take a seat in the audience to enjoy the soul filled song...
Yes! Thanks for your support Deborah!
You said something about being offended because you thought they were black. I’m a 70 year old white guy and not offended in the least. To be compared to one of the MO Town singers is a compliment . I cut my music teeth on Motown, Righteous Brothers etc. The old days when they had to have pure talent to make it, and not an electronic item to smooth out the rough spots! Enjoyed your Reaction!!!!😊
Thanks so much 👑 ❤️
That's what most of us had when this song was performed, black and white! No bells and whistles. Early 60s television! Saw Bobby and and Bill in a Club in Morgan, NJ towards the end of their careers.
Glad you got to experience that! Thanks for your support Alice!
The Blue eyed soul with Bill Medley the baritone of soul.
Big thanks to Phil Spector's brilliant production.
Amazing! Thanks for your support Mark!
"Wall of Sound."
You are an awesome man, and you are so right when you said if you were blind you wouldn’t have known they were white. God, how I wish that was true, because then, we all would be the same. Thank you, for being so honest.
Thanks for supporting Marianne! ❤️
Now you might have an idea why some of us old folks consider auto-tune a form of cheating. And much of TV was black and white back then.
Yes I’m learning! Thanks!
If you saw the movie Top Gun, you’ve heard this song. Also, there weren’t very many color TV’s around when this was done, so it made sense to shoot it in black and white
Understandable and no I have no seen Top Gun yet! 😱 Thanks for your support Larry!
The best version yet. Amazing ❤
The Righteous Brothers Soul and Inspiration could be your next review. It's an awesome song.
I’ll add it to the list right now! Thanks for your suggestion Lynn!
Got the impression..first hand..that's cool... hear them sing together.. that's a brother....old school times..
Loved your sophisticated reactions and descriptions! So special
Thank You Virginia
I agree about music transcending race. Thats the beauty of music, international language
Definitely
"Black & white aesthetic"...LoL That's pretty much all we had for TV back in 1964. 😁 Around that time and through the next few years up to @ 1967 I only had one friend whose family had a color tv. And it never held the tint and saturation right...always had to be tweaked. We didn't get a color tv in my family until my Jr year of high school @ 1970.
Haha! Glad you got to experience that era of music & culture! Thanks for your support Quentin!
@@KingGreatnessKG My pleasure. i truly enjoy watching young folk discovering the great music from my era.
I’m glad it’s still thriving!
Keep in mind that this isn't a typical "music video". This is a live tv performance and tv was still b&w on most shows at this time.
There were no true music videos until Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody in 1975 and MTV didn't exist until 1981. We only had video footage from live concerts and tv variety shows before that.
When I first heard them on the radio, believed the Rightous Brothers were black singers also and that is from a white boy who was 8 years old. Then I went to a show with my older sisters to see them and saw they were white, so I told my friends and they did not believe me until they preformed on the Ed Sullivan Show in color back in the 60's. Try the songs Soul And Insperation or Rock N Roll Heaven. The first is from the 60's and the latter one was the 70's hit from them.
Thanks for sharing
David Ruffins(temptations) and Levi Stubs(Four Tops) are 2 of my favorite vocalist. so i loved that reference
Yeah I love David’s voice too!
You'll Never Walk Alone. Righteous Brothers.
Adding to the list! Thanks for your support Kat!
For contrast... here are the Righteous Brothers 40 years later... still singing 'Lovink Feeling' into their sixties....still filling it with soul. .And their fans stayed with them
ua-cam.com/video/p5J24Ssi-k4/v-deo.html
Thanks for this!
Beautiful thank you so much please do more❤❤❤❤❤
Been listening to them since I was 15...
I see why! Thanks
This is just blue-eyed soul...
