    Absolutely brilliant, by far the best video on this tent. Just 1 question, I lost you at 3:50?

      @JustinWhiting9  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you Paul. What do you mean ‘lost you’ ? I checked the video at 03:50 and it looks and sounds ok. 🤷

      Sorry, should have explained. Where/how are you tying the ''extra knot'' to allow seperate tensioning on the to the doors. Thanks@@JustinWhiting9

    • @JustinWhiting9
      @JustinWhiting9  8 місяців тому +1

      Ah, ok. Without tying a knot in the guy line there, when you unzip/unhook the door the whole line slackens off. That includes the top cone, and the top ridge of the tent goes slack. Just tie a knot with a loop at the position where the peg is. Then peg it out through that loop. That way, when you unzip/unhook the door, the top of the tent stays taught. Also, you can then independently tighten/slacken the top of the tent, or the door.

      Thank you 🙏 Can you please send me a free Lanshan 1 Pro tent to make a video including reference to your website? I made 6 videos on the Lanshan 2 Pro. They are most popular on my channel with over 150,000 views in total.

      The original Lanshan plastic hook broke during my high wind test video. Here is the link. I did the swap, thanks to my friend, in the mountains. It worked! ua-cam.com/video/cNwdXm9C1Tk/v-deo.htmlsi=2LWKSvG2Vt5kl0wc

    Out of all the tents I own, this one is by far the best value for money. I've got the standard Lanshan 2 and the 2 Pro and believe me, I've had them out in some testing conditions. I used my Pro for the Pennine Way, perfect tent for the job and once you've got the knack, can be pitched in about 3 minutes. Great pitching & tips video. ATB

    Hello, thank you for the valuable information on how to set up and configure this tent. I recently purchased this model and, I confess, I didn't set up the tent correctly, leaving it very uneven. Now with this video, I know how to assemble it correctly. Thank you one more time. And...sorry for my terrible English, as I'm Brazilian and used Google Translate.

    Finally got one of these. Mine doesn’t have the pre-tied loop for the centre guy lines, nor the metal grommets at pole inserts (it’s a nylon loop instead) but your instructions helped a lot… thanks !

    nice video, do you also have the 'problem'' when it rains it looks that the tent becomes a little bit bigger? i mean the fabric seems to become a little bit larger when its wet. So when it rains i always have to go outside to re-tension the tent.

    • @JustinWhiting9
      @JustinWhiting9  Місяць тому

      Thanks. Yes, it’s the silnylon fabric which absorbs moisture and slackens when wet. I’ve noticed though, when it dries and gets a bit of sun it tightens itself up 👍

    I have one and I love it also. Bear in mind when you are on the South Downs Way or many hikes in the summer it is almost impossible to pitch this tent in my experience. 1 the ground is too hard for the pegs and 2 you rarely find a flat lawn on a long hike. For that reason I use a free standing tent despite the extra weight

    • @JustinWhiting9
      @JustinWhiting9  7 місяців тому

      It’s the same in Scotland. Not easy to find good pitches! My back garden is pretty near a perfect pitch but no mountains! 🏔️

    I have experimented with my Lanshan 2 pro and set the poles to 110. Also for the guy lines at the pole ends I peg down separately. All essentially to reduce the gap at these ends.

    • @JustinWhiting9

    Looks cool... I've had years of L1 & L2, I now have an L2 pro but have never pitched it in anger, so any tips are good! It's not the pitch that concerns me most tho, it's the condensation. atb... Sinco

      Hi Sinco, Lots of practise in the back garden and on trail led me to this method. Plus tips from other UA-camrs. It's probably not perfect, there are always other things to tinker with.

    Most interesting to me: A Brit talked about "Meter" and not in the Imperial measurements. 🤣

    • @JustinWhiting9
      @JustinWhiting9  9 місяців тому +1

      I did say “5 or 6 inches” aswell though! 😂 I’m an engineer and at school/college and in the factory we used both imperial and metric every day. It’s easy for me to switch between. My parents use only imperial and my kids only metric. I was in the ‘cross-over’ generation.
