Great review Well done Just spent 3 weeks in the Lakes camping in my Lanshan Pro II 3 season I had some very wet and stormy conditions Pro II single skin, means you can wipe off the condensation easily Double skin means you cannot reach the condensation 3 season has much less condensation as it gives much more air thru than the 4 season You did not discuss the walking pole height There is a full range from 110cm to 125cm 110 is very poor conditions lowers the sides of the tent a seriously reduces wind and rain 125 is lovely and airy and reduces condensation I have used the Pro II 3 season in quite cool conditions and it is not as cold as you make it out once you have dropped the pole height An option use a bivi bag which adds 350g to 'winterize' the 3 season without buying a 4 season I carry a bivi bag in the winter with any tent keep up the good work
i love your reviews and love lanshan tents. I have the ul pro 3 season (one man) seeing how long i cam last in it before i get tooo cold! Thank you for being consistent and amazing.
Thanks mate Ive been looking at tents all week and you helped me pick one finally! I went with the 3F UL Gear Lanshan 2 Double Walled 4 Season with the T zip, the foot print, metal clips and side guys. £154 all in. and it said its seam sealed now so thats good, that was putting me off a bit lol
I have the lanshan 2Pro it’s never leaked. Love this tent!!! It’s best to set it up when you seam seal it. I started out on a budget and bought the Lanshan 2 and absolutely love it!
The New versions of the 3 season standard have partial solid panels at the head and foot ends to protect you from drafts along with the T zips now . Pro 3 season is my tent of choice , bigger than the standard and stronger materials , along with my easy pitch mod kits makes a cracking tent , nice viddy 👍
Love my lanshan 2 mate, my companion and I backpacked the Northumberland coastal path using the Lanshan 2. I can confirm it is absolutely superb and once pitched correctly (we used sand pegs), it was rock solid with loads of room for two of us . Had loads of rain and wind the first night the tent brushed it off with impunity. Overall great value shelter, totally concur with your review.
Hi Andy. Another great review. I used the LS2 4 season pro The last 2 years in good weather. The main problem I had was when having to camp on gravel ground and getting the main guy pegged in well enough to keep the tent up. I got thr LS1 3 Sears pro for my East Highland Way hike a couple of weeks ago and had the same problem 1 night pegging out tent, but the big problem was a night it started raining heavily and about 3am I thought the tent was leaking but it wasn't, the condensation was being knocked off by the rain and showering me and all my gear. In future I would wipe the inside every 2-3 hours in the same conditions. I like both tents but now I'm lookout for light freestanding tent.
Im on my 2nd Lanshan , my Pro 1 came with both zippers opening huge difference, My Lanshan took a thorough beating on my Camino Francis in March and April . I thought she was a goner a few nights in 60 mph winds . Incredible. I did seam seal 3x which may have affected the strength. I'm about to buy my 3rd . Here in California, my Sierras in the fall and Spring gets UK cold , I think I'm going with another single wall and yes just wipe down upon waking up. Buen Camino
At this point, I feel a DD 3x3 Superlight tarp and a bivvy bag is a better option, for me personally. Some tents are so minimal that I believe it's better to go the whole hog and save a bit of money and weight. I make a similar shaped shelter as these tents with my tarp and it's great!
Nice review Andy 👍. I suppose the whole range have their place. However the walking poles of course add to overall carry weight unless you use poles anyway.
The great thing being a trekking pole tent is you can lower the poles to help with the draughts. The pro you definently feel the extra space and the new T zip is great. Bugs on the standard inner are a problem as they can fly between the inner and outer. Seem sealing is annoying on the pro however and I have had it leak at the guy points, also condensation is also a thing. Both can easily be managed though
Up here in the Rockies I take the original 4 season tent as at altitude the temperature drops by 5 degrees every 1000 ft …. We were at 11,500’ the other week and we had a hard frost in August!! 🥶 but I stayed nice and toasty 😁…. Like you say it’s kinda weather dependent…. But whatever you take the Lanshan 2 is an awesome tent for the price… thankyou for the review 👍👍
Got the lanshan 2 pro 3 season and just bought hubba hubba nx. I think the hubba hubba nx is my favorite, but lanshan is definitely my ultralight go to.
I've got the standard lanshan 2 4 season and is my favourite tent. I've just recently upgraded the 4 season j zip inner to a t zip as definitely the better of the 2. The mesh on head and foot end is what deterred me as definitely wouldn't like the cold blasting on me all night
I've actually decided so trade these in for a DW 4S T-Zip. I think that's the ultimate Lanshan for UK weather. I should say, it's also well worth adding extra guys on the peaks too with some decent pegs.
i've been hovering over the buy button on the Lanshan 2, four season for about a month now. I love the look of the tent...don't think it will be long before I buy one.
@@Hiking.and.mountains I had a bit of condensation on the last camp but it had it all sides down because of heavy winds. I was surprised with how little condensation though. With it being a 3 season, the mesh doors helped a lot. I was camping with my brother who had the oex jakkall, he suffered with a lot.
@@YorkshireBoyOutdoorsXtra cheers mate, that sounds good! I was out in my Wild Country Helm 2 last week and the condensation in that was unreal, although it didn't affect us because of the inner, there was still a surprising amount.

Great stuff Andy, I really enjoy these comparison videos. I’ve just sold my x mid 1p because of the limited internal space. Trying to get out of wet clothes in that thing was enough to convince me that I’d rather have a 2 person tent. I was considering the x mid 2p. Would you recommend the lanshan over the Durston ? Cheers 👍🏻
Hi Andy sorry to be a pain but I'm slightly confused with all the different version options on the website. The 'standard' version (the one on the left in your vid labelled 'DW'.... am I correct in thinking this one is the £130 link option? Not the £149 one? Thanks for your help, Dan.
Temperature in a tent doesn’t matter to me,if the weather is cold then I will be taking the gear needed to keep me warm outside of the tent so going to be warm as well inside the tent.
I slipped on a boulder and snapped a trekking pole clean in half. Luckily I had the Lanshan 1 that needed only one pole. If I had the Lanshan 2 I would have been in trouble.
I find, if it's windy or cold, just lowering the poles a bit and pegging the sides down directly, it's easily managed. As for the mesh being too cold, I don't really feel that. I tend to use my sleeping bag to keep me warm and a tent to keep me dry, although I do run hot.
yeah I was wondering about the tent giving warmth. I do it the same as you said, tent for staying dry and maybe keeping the mosquitos away and sleeping pad and bag for warmth
How about the half person 5 season for homeless veterans? OK bad joke. Sorry. I have a Lanshan 1 white and bought a new Lanshan 1 Plus (Flame's Creed) with 230 cm inner. Not used yet. And to be honest I'm second thoughts about the Khaki. I wish there was light blue. Yes I like bright colors. I don't camp wild. And I'm a cyclist. Anyway, I wonder if there are any advantages of a 1 Person? Bit lighter of course if you don't use trekking poles. Better wind resistance? Smaller footprint. Yes there is less head space. I guess in the UK weather you hang out more inside your tent. But with the Lanshan 1 you can have one trekking pole left and use a small tarp from the top of the tent to that trekking pole. I never see people do that?
Your sleep system keeps you warm not the shelter. I live in Canada and unless your in the arctic areas you don’t need a four season tent… I hear you guys talk about tents being warm🤷♂️…keep the draft out yes … sleep system does the rest
Keeping draughts out is HUGE. Being in a cold, draughty tent is miserable and you end up spending all your time in your sleeping bag. You also have to take better sleeping gear and clothing too. Taking a lighter tent often leads to substantially more weight elsewhere.
I condered this tent and looked at all the mods, but felt seams not taped and the aftersales was paying an extra £50 for an Alpskit two man Ordos 2, weight 1.4kg. Great one man tent. It can be pitched outer first with ease and has great internal hieght and width sizes. 🏕😎👍

Great review
Well done
Just spent 3 weeks in the Lakes camping in my Lanshan Pro II 3 season
I had some very wet and stormy conditions
Pro II single skin, means you can wipe off the condensation easily
Double skin means you cannot reach the condensation
3 season has much less condensation as it gives much more air thru than the 4 season
You did not discuss the walking pole height
There is a full range from 110cm to 125cm
110 is very poor conditions lowers the sides of the tent a seriously reduces wind and rain
125 is lovely and airy and reduces condensation
I have used the Pro II 3 season in quite cool conditions and it is not as cold as you make it out once you have dropped the pole height
An option use a bivi bag which adds 350g to 'winterize' the 3 season without buying a 4 season
I carry a bivi bag in the winter with any tent
keep up the good work
Great points.taking a really lightweight bivvy just makes sense all year round in my opinion, just in case.
I’ve got the lanshan 2 - 3 season T door version.
Really happy with it, yet to be tested in the winter but stood up to our “British summer” so far 😅
Same - and you can buy a 4-season T-inner (AliE) for around £60.
