That's great to see because we really tried to focus on that. We're working on clipping issues, and the performance is something we'll continue to improve in Early Access, it's already had some major updates from the demo so we're confident we can make more tweaks there. Hopefully the improvements between the beta and this launch show that we're dedicated to improvements like that!

I picked this up maybe a week or so ago and have been really enjoying it! As someone who doesn't use Switch and thinks most games like Animal Crossing or other farming sims are a little too boring and redundant to really enjoy, this game is essentially Animal Crossing for those who want more out of it. You don't have daily tasks that sap your energy and time, you don't have to farm (but that is a key way to get fiber, which you do need tons of), you don't have to refill your watering can, and you can freely go anywhere. The universal inventory system is inspired, and a real win, as is the fantastic character creator. I love that you can freely build and place however you want without an annoying grid. The only thing I wish was better would be more personalities for villagers. I don't appreciate villager hunting (hunting for a specific dude) and would like to take what the game brings as the game's storyline. But I do desire less repetitive interactions, as it takes away the magic of villager discovery and makes me want to walk away from a villager and try again 😂
Thanks for another great review and honest critique! I went ahead and bought this one but haven't played it myself yet. I played the demo long ago. I'm pretty sure this game will be one I will enjoy especially as the cold weather sets in over the next few months. The island vibe and tropical landscapes will definitely help keep those winter blues away.

I'm excited what the roadmap shows so many new things coming to this game. This is a keeper for me....( I hope you live stream playing some of this game. )

Thanks. I loved this since i 1st played the demo last year & and bought it as soon as it went live. It works well on steamdeck. They made lots of improvements & even did a hot fix on realase day. Being able to re loading a save is so helpful. So making a bad decision doesn't mean starting again. Automatic tool selection is so good. Hope they add fridges to cook from storage soon. Yes its ea but already has lots to do & no game breaking bugs for me so far
There's really no main story but there will be NPC main storyline quests coming in future updates according to the road map. There are villager requests that you complete and your goal is to rebuild the town and attract as many tourists as possible to make $$. :)
I wish I knew if they have a road map that included their attentions for console if any . Because it seems console players are never thought about when developers are making games and I think it's messed up. Cause I don't why developers think everyone has a PC or a steam deck not everyone has these things
I'll have to disagree with you on the fact that you claim developers don't ever think about console players. Devs absolutely do care about console development as it is beneficial for them for a more successful game however it's not as easy as you may think. They do have it posted on their site that it will be coming to console. I'm no developer but I do know it takes a lot of time, money and effort to get games ported out to consoles. Especially when you are an indie developer. There are so many endless loops and obstacles they have to come across with optimization and legalities with the respective console companies. The game has been released as an early access game to allow the devs to test it out so they can continue developing it for full release. They may not have all the resources like a huge company that allows them to get it out to consoles so early on. It's futile to state on a roadmap details about console release when they already have it noted on their website that console release is intended with full release.
