I just wanna say that, as both a gamer and a game dev, I really appreciate your videos -- they always feel thought-out, researched, and cozy and they really help me keep an eye on the things coming out. Cheers to your good work and, as always, excited for the next one!
Hard to really see it as a Haunted Chocolatier dupe as the gameplay loop is already pretty established by other games. Travellers Rest is an excellent example, and another game that's very much worth playing if you haven't checked it out yet.
It was funny to hear you compare Chef RPG to Haunted Chocolatier by reading off a gameplay loop that, while being described by CA, isn’t unique to Haunted Chocolatier. Especially considering HC hasn’t even been released yet. I clicked this video because I was taken aback to see Chef RPG being accused of being a HC dupe. I expected you to explore the arguments of people calling it a dupe & explain why you did/didn’t agree. Seeing you propose the idea yourself then give a gameplay review of Chef RPG was certainly something. Can’t say I agree with you (re: it seeming like a dupe) but it was definitely an interesting video premise. Got my view at least.
I was comparing it to Haunted Chocolatier because my audience is mainly Stardew Valley fans. The idea was to get them excited for a “Haunted Chocolatier-esce” game, not to put the game down. Like I said, I had a fun time playing! and I’m rooting for the game to succeed in the future.
@@MRIZZY Ah, that makes sense. I’m a first time viewer, so that audience connection was lost on me. For what it’s worth, I didn’t think you were putting the game down at all, just sharing my confusion about the video’s premise. All the best!
I share your view of early access. That's why I'm going to wait for the full release of Chef RPG. I think I'll really love it once it's complete. At the moment I'm playing core keeper and I'm really happy I waited for the full release with that one.
I am glad I got the game because I am having a lot of fun with it. I am not a HUGE cozy gamer type of player but certain ones do piqued my interest Chef RPG being one of them. No major bugs yet, but my only big gripe, a huge lack of tutorial info, with almost nothing in the ? tab of the game. I usually have to google what the menu stats mean or what the new hire personalities mean for overall play, etc.
Here are a list of games I think you would enjoy and would love your opinion on some of them: -Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition -Aka -Touhou Mystia’s Izakaya -Wanderstop -Wytchwood -Baltic Folk -Witchbrook -Travellers Rest
Thank you so much for your honest review. I've been looking at Chef RPG but the 20 bucks has been putting me off along with how with early access games you hit a wall with how much you can do. Fields of Mistria has been like this recently...AMAZING game but I hit that wall in the first year and there's nothing else to do until the next update. Love the game but very frustrating to have to stop. I think I'm going to hold off on Chef RPG for now as I don't want another game like that.
Thank you for your thoughtful review!❤️❤️ but im actually surprised people doesn't know how chef counters different from regular counters (what game was asking to place there are even labeled differently)
I like the looks of this game and might give it a shot, but right now it doesn't seem to have controller support. My wrists are weak from factory work, and using a controller is much easier for me. I'm not tempted to try this game until that at least has been added, if it ever will be.
I have been playing for six hours and was wondering if you experienced this same issue I had today. I SPOKE TO SOON: I increased my diner seating arrangement from 4 to 8 people and spent about 6-7 hours feeding them etc. and everything went well, but after the restaurant closed ..... nothing happened! The game didn't calculate any of the day's business and so no money was made, though all the ingredients used were still removed from the refrigerator. I then tried to leave the restaurant and was locked in, so I had to FORCE close the diner (no one but me and staff was in there) and I was able to leave, finally, but nothing changed. Went to bed in the game hoping I didn't lose the whole day the next day, but it still did not calculate yesterday's take. Have you experienced this on your playthroughs?
After playing quite a bit, I have found there is a lot more to the game than meets the eye. I don’t want to give stuff away, but one example is research. I think that is a cool mechanic in the game. Some games I don’t mind playing EA and others I don’t want to do so. I think for me it depends on whether or not it is going to “ruin” the story or make me anxious to wait. For example, I waited on the My Time games and I think that is because the games are so story rich.
Really love your videos. I cant wait to play Chef RPG. Im a fairly new cozy gamer; played Stardew for the first time when the new update came out and it was one of the most enjoyable experiences Ive ever had gaming. I've found it hard to scratch that itch since; Dave the Diver was a lot of fun, but beyond that nothing else has really grabbed me. Outside of ACNH I really prefer pixel art style as opposed to the Dreamlight Valley/Coral Island style. Any favs outside the obvious ones I should check out?
Regarding the prices, isn't that because Steam has declared regional pricing for games? I rmb sun haven adjusted their pricing by *that* much so maybe they adjusted the pricing before releasing it
I think i will skip chef rpg for now and see how it becomes when it's finally in full released🙈 and btw I think you should also give Secrets of Grindea a try! I think u would absolutely love it if you love rpg x life simulation, it's so underrated and deserves so much love💖

I can't believe the rise of early access vid flopped??? One of my favorite videos from you
Agree!
