Being mindful of the number of buffers on my board is something I learned from watching this show. Hearing you guys cover this subject on the Q&A today may merit an episode comparing a board with all buffered bypass pedals vs a board featuring all true-bypass pedals.

I might have to watch this with the chat recap during my question to watch the panic unfold 😅 I asked because it's my goal for the year to get the JL Two-Rock but needed the info if I needed to use the head without the cab if it was Head only when I aquire it (I'd hope not) but on a somewhat related note it occurred to me I could use the cab from my newly acquired Grandville (impedance allowing) which is based on the Gibson Skylark. Need to rewatch your old episodes on cabs. Fitting analogy the Library of Alexandria

I use the Duesenberg Les Trem on a couple of my stop tail piece guitars, and the guys are right, it's not a Bigsby and not for dive bombers but those guitars never go out of tune even with lots of whammy use.

Note to the fella thats been playing for 10 years with all budget guitars. 2 things I've done after 24 years of trying all sorts and the swapping rabbit hole. If you really love any of the budget guitars, upgrade the wiring, nut, tuners, pickups, everything that you'd love an expensive guitar to have. I have an epi les paul custom with lollar P90's I put in thats my primary recording guitar over all my ibanez prestige's and higher end fenders. Its killer and plays amazing. Second, when I didn't find the guitar that I HAD to have, (2002 fender special run strat pearl white with lace sensor gold lipsticks and anodized gold aluminum scratch plate) I put $20 away a week for over a year, and traded 3 of my budget guitars and all the cash I had accrued to pick THE guitar that I can't imagine not having. The best live guitar I've ever played.
First thing I always do is search for a great neck and good feeling bridge since I play a lot of funk and punk type stuff ala Red Hot chili peppers meets the Offspring. It will be worth the wait. While you're accruing that cash, go to all the guitar shops within a 100 mile radius if you can. I got mine from a small mom & pop shop that sold mostly acoustics. But they ended up with that on a trade for a bass, who ended up being in a band with me years later in a festival gig styled band. Just be patient, and don't be afraid to mod the budget ones you really get on with.

Mick & Dan, you need to find a ‘72 Fender silver panel Pro-Reverb 2x12 combo and try that up against your deluxe. You’ll be in for a real treat. I got one of these and it is jaw droppingly good - bright switch always on !

By the by Australian is an Island Continent, love the latest Gibson that Mick has acquired but i love Dan’s 65 tele .

On the Princeton/deluxe reverb Topic, Justin Ostrander, Nashville session guitar player gave away one of their session player tricks. Either of those amps on 10, treble on 10 and zero base. Best lead guitar tone ever! I implore you to check it out and debut it on one of your upcoming videos.
    Thanks boys.

I use a brown face just like that, it’s the Chris Stapleton that I picked up, just a regular old brown face Princeton but with a 12” speaker and I run the tone on max and it’s glorious with anything plugged in to it. Fat, bright and super articulate, just can’t go wrong with fenders with the treble gunned. I’ve never met a bright switch I didn’t like! Haha

Thanks for aswering my question. Finally I can say something about it. My pedalboard has become pritty big, some pedals have Buffers build in and some not. So I realized that buffers are the next topic to look at. Thanks again for the answer. I now have an Idea fot what to watch out. Your videos about buffers are next on my list to watch. Have a nice week!

MXR Submachine for an intro to fuzz as well! Its super forgiving and is incredibly versatile, its an intro to 3 three different types of fuzz in my opinion, the clean up is cool, and its an usually noise free fuzz for some reason. Though i am in love with the kangra and the cock fight, the Submachine is still a creative work horse for me. So many riffs!

Hadn’t thought about offering to pay for new strings, that’s a great suggestion (and I do prefer heavier strings). I guess I was in part thinking about the question of comparing two or more guitars…say there are three different model Strats you’re considering, and two of them have strings that are a bit old and a different gauge than you usually play, it might sway you toward the one with the nice strings, when perhaps one of the two with the lesser strings would ultimately be a much better player for you long term. It’s tough, especially with all the distractions going on in a store as well. Anyway thanks for the great answer!

In the end I had to be overkill for home player but I bought both LVX and Mercury X and am very satisfied with the sounds. I play and twist knobs. I do understand the crazy presets for showing power of it but those will go lol.

Why don't you make a show where you put eight boss pedals in a loop and turn they all of.
Put a buffer, always on, before and after the switcher.
Compare the sound with two buffers in the signal chain to when the eight boss pedals (all off) are in the chain between the first and the last buffer.

You're not wrong Mick, as Dan said the term "Australasia" is indeed a thing - refers to the collective land and islands of the southwest Pacific region as a whole. "Oceania" is kind of like a level above that again - referring to Australasia, Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.
As for 'what continent is New Zealand from', that might have seemed a weird question to many a few years ago but... well, just put "The missing continent that took 375 years to find" into That Google Thing if curious... and interesting things will occur!
But maybe we here in the land of the Hot Cake will just take the Continent of Middle Earth because that does sound much more interesting (maybe... maybe it's actually made out of hot cake? No, that's fine, I'll see myself out...).

I feel exactly the same about Duesenberg. I've had a goldtop Starplayer TV for nearly 10 years now, but it wasnt what I was originally after. What I was after was a Les Paul but couldnt find one that I liked. The Duesy is a great guitar, its the easiest to play that I've ever had and musical ideas just topple out of it.... but its not a Les Paul. Very similar to Dan's Gretsch analogy. As a result, I'm seriously considering moving mine on but I'll be a lot more careful about what I replace it with.

I calll and name my guitars and consider them friends, I have Winnifred the telecaster, Taylor the Taylor, jay the jazzmaster j masici squier, and Dani D'anjelico. Izzy the Ibanez gio my first friend and the one that gave me a voice in the demonic realms of public schooling in and around Chicago. so like yeah my friends, my girls, my guitars....I dig that metaphor, we fight and we come together often to make symbiotic attempt at making what makes my soul weep with joy as I celebrate this attempt at life I have hear. Sorry to ramble but you guys really keep me company and educate me on delays and great guitar themed knowledge, history and loves I have.....so basically if my grandma was alive and I was living with her again, she woudl say my friends on that UA-cam in reference to you guys and all the guitar and cool contented here, dang I'm rambling....peace be with you all, and much love and music.

You are freezing constantly here in Australia with this current stream. Not only that, I can only stream this episode at 360p at present. This happened often in the past with your streams. Last year, after you had a melt down with you net-service provider things improved. But, your feed seems to have reverted to past problems. I have a high end optic fibre to my house, which streams every other youtube stream in HD, not you guys. Perhaps you need to consider a more reliable service provider?

Sorry but there’s not a big difference tonally between pickups. Record all the pickups exactly the same way, then when played back you’ll hear a subtle to nothing difference between different pickups. All the differences people think they hear with pickups, solid body to semi hollows, analog vs digital gear, all of the thousands of pedals sounding night and day difference is just confirmation bias, believing marketing bs, stupidity, and ignorance.
