If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex

Hey team, when I go to watch the courses on your website, the video pauses a couple minutes in. Tried refreshing/multiple videos but no bueno :(
Would you consider sharing your actual prep sheet for this video so we have an accurate example?
I wanna translate your videos in my language. How can I reach to you?. Your videos are very useful for everyone. There are people who don't understand English. Therefore I wanna translate videos to helps the people and also grow your audience.

This man will still be talked about, long after he’s gone. He has transformed the business world ENTIRELY🙌
I like using this in my everyday life as well. Meal prepping, getting my clothes out for the next morning the night before, putting things away and keeping them organised so they're prepared for the next time I use them. It all makes me ready to jump in to the important tasks when it's time to do them.
Pretty sure Hormozi is the only person who can post a podcast-style video where he pretends to talk to another person and the comments actually like it.
Because we know he’s talking to his team. He’s not trying to trick anyone
It works for me as I often go on long monologues when talking to my gf about something. Like I usually create scenarios in my head as hypothetical or based on a real story to further deepen my point.
I’m thinking this style is an actually great for me to do as a form of therapy for myself.
He is doing insta live actually
@@adithyasai is insta live the move right now? compared to other live channel. what do you think?
Teacher here - the reason we say cramming is bad is because it keeps knowledge stored in the working memory (short term) and makes it much less likely to assimilate into long term memory. Cramming works for short term achievements like grades on tests, but it hurts you in the long run if you wanted to be more likely to remember the content of what you studied. With that being said kids are over tested and given too much homework. The goal is for students to be lifelong learners and productive citizens, but school boards and state mandated testing makes that very difficult to do.
You countered your point before I could lol. Definitely agree that they have setup a system that rewards test takers. Not people who actually want to learn
Congratulations on completely missing the point.
Your knowledge will be forgotten/skewed over time anyways without consistent, practical applications. Meaning the current education system is not designed to make students retain long-term information/knowledge. It's just not viable and actually unrealistic.
In this case , cramming has at least a practical purpose; which is to "attack" your short-term project. The more reps you do with the short-term things, the more likely it will turn into long-term knowledge.
It is a PROJECT-BASED tactic, which is already a huge difference and step up when compared to the school system as a whole.
Yeah, I only always ever crammed through high school but in college I learned how to study every day. Way better!
What is your net worth?
Work is behind the scenes Competition is easy part.

I love your audience really insightful quotes
dude wtf, you release a ton of useful content EVERY DAY. This is kinda crazy.
He makes money when we make money. What a brilliant strategy!
You are not nervous you are underprepared. Facts. The more prepared I aim creating content the better my delivery is. 💯 true.

And the content is usually not practical and applicable to most
Behavior analyst here - Teachers aspire to produce life long learners (long game) in a system that simply needs them educated enough to do entry-level work (mismatched outcomes). Kids in chairs forced to “memorize” more than they’ll ever need to know, if we’re honest. If students learned in a hands-on environment (apprenticeship, etc) like one of the businesses Hormozi manages, the repetition of this sort of behavior (cramming included) and the outcomes it would drive would be far more educational than anything we could ever hope to learn in a classroom or through hours of study. Theory is no substitute for Praxis, it merely inspires one to see for themselves.
I agree with the teacher, but Alex made a specific business example where you need to be prepared just for that meeting.
In school I did the barest minimum to pass and that was detrimental to my future success because like Alex said, preparation is everything. Now I am trying to learn the art of preparing properly.
Thanks for the phenomenal content, Alex! 🙏🏼
I love you Alex no homo, I’ve felt so discouraged recently thinking that my potential has been squandered but you are reminding that the relevant hard work still pays off. Thank you man

Alex, i think part of the reason I enjoy your content so much is because you have the exact same mindset and mannerisms as my dad. He’s not a ceo. Very good ! I’m working on a bridge method ; lf you’d like to know more…
WTF Alex, you're doing 50 posts a day! Huhhh. You just said that it takes to prep a video of 15 minutes 3 weeks and over 20 people on it 8 hours a day. So how the heck the math adds up that you're putting out 50 content in 24 hours?😂 How the hell can you come up with 50 subjects for the 50 contents every day and this everyday. This equates to 1500 posts a month. Even TV media can't come out with that much content and news in 24 hours. Gimme a break!
How would you decipher whether the bottle neck of your business is the quality of the leads the sales team uses, or the quality of the sales team itself?
Interview the customers
Or have someone pretend to be a customer

Love you man. You are the elder brother we all need. Love from India.
Anytime someone attempts to haggle or ask for a cheaper price I go up in price immediately like you said except with me that’s where the price stays. It’s fifteen thousand bucks for whatever the product is then they go “will you take 13,000.” “Now it’s 17,000.” “How about 14.” “How about 18.” “Ok I guess 15 is fine.” “Sorry that offer is no longer available it’s now 18,000.”
As long as you’re not doing it with a product in a delusional or ridiculous cheap thing.
I love you man, and your math is funny. How you acted like you didn’t know that 167 hours is 10,000 minutes, although you did, 😅😅😅cracks me up.
I cannot believe we get to watch this for free. Thank you Alex & Team!
anyone else just go "damn wow" evertytime I see these videos?
It’s so great so see something REAL to understand the level that success needs to be executed at!
Hi Alex and team,
I am 23 year old and have progressed into a role to help with ideas to grow the business. The guys in higher positions all have MBA's (Master in Business Administration) and told me that I should think about doing an MBA. After researching it I found that it basically covers every aspect of the business as a subject but to study it I would have to go into debt I don't want. I already started with your two books and will soon finish Leads, that has already transformed the way the lead team thinks and approach leads, which covers marketing and sales.
The Question:
What recommendations do you have for courses, books, UA-cam channels or some other way of learning I can do to study the other aspects that an MBA will give me?
@AlexHormozi please put in the description what the video is actually about, so that when i want to come back to it, or send it to someone it comes up via a youtube search
Start a temp agency. Go out and find the number two guy from the top business in category. Then you can use the agency as a talent funnel. Also you might even be able to use the temp assignments to get candidates relevant on the job training. While also having a record of some their work history.
I could listen to Alex speaking forever
You know the saying about how Batman can beat anyone with prep time? If Batman were real, he wouldn’t have the luxury of asking every villain to wait until he figured something out - his dominance comes from preemptive planning for every eventuality.
Be Batman. Never let yourself be caught lacking.

Alex is the Faker of business.
Preface: Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok) is T1’s mid laner and in the Hall of Legends.
Alex, think twice. We love your videos precisely for what they are - unprepared flow of thoughts. You are sharing your experience and wisdom without trying to be perfect or get more lives. That shit has no value. You are not tge guy what wants to be number one on UA-cam and orchestrates his videos to be number one with audiens of fooled idiots... You are the guy who speaks raw truth,l and doesn't give a shit if the viewer likes you, subscribes to your channel or shares. Your audience are active part of the society who don't have time for tiktok and b/s content
That's depressing and inspiring at the same time.
My question is - how to outwork others when you're at the beginning and you're struggling financially, thus you can't afford to have a month of preparation? Or am I making excuses?
Also, who is that UA-camr Alex is talking about? I can't grasp the spelling.
🙋🏼♂️ I’m afraid of attractive women.. got the room but struggling to fill it with attractive women
Alex touches on the aspect of he keeps learning the same lesson from different domains. I like this because personally I learned the idea of a majority of lessons translate to different avenues of life this is how I believe I have profited from playing basketball and I believe it has helped transform certain qualities into business, personal, spiritual, etc
This is touching to see! Thank you!
Dude, you are absolutely AMAZING!
Edit to add: thanks so much for making this video, it really makes it clear how to view effort and what the effort for success looks like.

I would normally “razzle dazzle.” after hearing this talk, I’m going to actually put some preparation time into this subject that I know very well. I’m sure it’s still going to make a big difference thank you, sir.
Yes you have to prepare equliy to the amount of audience.
Yes. So how many people are going to see my very first youtube video. No wonder I'm slow.😅
Wow this is brilliant stuff! I am working it all around a full time job at the moment so I guess i steadily increase my inputs / prep at a rate as best I can, with the goal of levelling up to increase my input and prep x 10 or x 100? At least im trying / doing atm. Problem is I'm not a machine and also need to consider health / rest - but there are probably ways I could find extra time or be more productive! My field is in music so I can totally see how this works :) with any instrument or band situation, the more rehearsal the more amazing you are!
really good video man very insightful

12:02 the bar reset, I had this same feeling of going from high school, to college, to university. You realise how much of a big fish in a small pond you were
Sometimes it seems that companies and founders who've embraced the 'minimum viable product' approach are also embracing a minimum effort / preparation approach.
So many people think their tiny bit of effort is a lot. They are just exesting. I want to be exceptional! Im ready to prep!!!
50 pieces of new content a day takes an entire team. A small company could literally have time for nothing else even trying to do a fraction of that. And "content" does not equal success. There were good points in that video, but context would have made it better. I can imagine some poor schmuck out there right now generating loads of mediocre "content" because he thinks that it's the volume that makes it work.
Great Video
Does this guy do anything but spout anecdotal stories to pretend to be relatable whilst shoveling ponzi schemes and vague nonsense propped up as knowledge and understanding?
Alex, you share the truth and it’s very inspiring.
Great content but I completely disagree on the cramming point. The point of education is not just to pass a test. Long term retention is important IMO.
I'm a hard worker but I must work harder.
