      @@tamaspap3622 how do we know that's not true? Replace sns time for books and that's a lot of books per year (and reading,learning speed and memory for people varies too).
      - it's hard but with time people can do it if it's not the same book size and if they're consuming audible a lot than reading they can, albeit it's hard.
      - And sometimes people don't read them fully but check stuff out by skimming + taking what they need (which can't count as reading it full but they can make a decision on whether it's a good enough read or not most of the times if they read through different chapters and important catalogues well.

    “Knowledge isn’t power until it is applied.”
    ― Dale Carnegie 1888 - 1955
    “Knowledge is only potential power. It becomes power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action, and directed to a definite end.”
    ― Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich: The Original 1937 Unedited Edition Napoleon Hill 1883 - 1970
    Don't be affraid to name drop the authors of famous quotes as I think it garners more attention and credibility from your audience. Think and Grow Rich was the first book I ever recall reading. My brother gave it to me and I read it several times in my late teens and early twenties as a high school dropout before finishing high school and college. I had no idea what it was all about but it made me realize I could do more than push a broom at the end of my shift. This is probably one of the most profound quotes of all time, when examined in real life. You can know everything but if you do nothing, that is exactly what you will become. That is an original from me.

    • @AnthonyVicino
      @AnthonyVicino  Рік тому +19

      Sounds like Dale and Napoleon said virtually the same thing at virtually the same time. Who would you credit authorship, too?
      I try to attribute any famous quotes I use, but there are some things which are just so broadly said that they've fallen out specific attribution.

      @AnthonyVicino why are you promoting outdated books that aren't fit for the current financial climate? Whilst they may be beneficial pre 2010, Psychology of Money is not very useful. Want to learn the truth about the psychology of money? Read Money Unmasked, Killing Sacred Cows, Disrupting Sacred Cows by Garret Gunderson. Now those books are worth reading and they're aligned with today's financial issues. Mindset is a no brainer either. And the points are repetitive.

    Definitely reading these books next, but for me, the most comprehensive and knowledge packed, sort of beginner books were MJ Demarco's three books, the Millionaire's fastlane, the Unscripted, and the Great Ratrace Escape. They share a lot of information, but still add to eachother. They contain knowledge regarding mindset, a small bit of health, some philosophy and a huge bag of financial and entrepreneurial strategies and principles, including marketing and product creation. They are simply the best foundation for someone actually looking to indulge in entrepreneurship. I'm surprised none of them hit this list, but to be fair, they are still somewhat vague and the ones listed in the video are more specialized. Still, I'd recommend beginners Demarco books way more than anything else, especially rich dad poor dad, since that is probably the most stretched 3 sentence book ever.

    5:55 I love the points made there. I read awaken the giant by Tony Robbins and early in the book the use of the word decide was a focus. If your shy like all shy people you may think "I want to be confident" but if you want to be more confident you have to word it differently to override the subconscious mind. So instead say "I decide to be confident" or as I change it slightly to "I decide to not be shy anymore". I decide to not let the people of my past control my future". Say these to yourself and see the immediate change

      You will be okay. Starting at 17 gives you an advantage. I started at 35. 30 years later, I am retired with 4.5 mln. dol. stock portfolio. I started with 600 dol. Here are the most important things I've learned and applied from the books : 1. You have to figure out how to make an excess of money to be able to invest. 2. You have to figure out to work for yourself, and if you employ people, it's even better. If you work as an employed person, it's hard to make more money than you need to pay basic bills. 3. Invest excess of money into something you are comfortable with. For me, it was the stock market, for you could be real estate. 4. Understand the difference between investing and speculation. 5. Understand the difference between assets and liabilities. 6. Finally, if it is the stock market, learn how to select stocks, read Benjamin Graham's 'The intelligent investor', and apply. What worked for me was simple idea to keep buying Berkshire Hathaway b shares when they became available. I have dividends paying stocks in my portfolio, but brk.b outpaced everything else by far. Good luck.

    Thank you for x-ing out Rich Dad Poor Dad!
    I read that in my early 20s when it first came out, while I was in the military. It was such a sick concept-swindling people who are trying to get ahead with their lack of financial education-I shook my head and put it down.
    It’s been terrible to see how many soul-less, money grubbers have used the concepts from that book to destroy the social fabric of American society.

    Hey man, I'm 18 and a month and I half ago I decided that university is not something I wanna do in live , so i started with copywriting and this gotta be it man , I am not giving up , now I really want to learn about the taxes, so the book you recommend seems interesting. The thing is that I live in Belgium(Europe), so my question is that I know the tax rate is not the same here as it is in the usa but is the general knowledge and working also different? I don't want to read a book when the taxes are done completely different here yk

    • @AnthonyVicino
      @AnthonyVicino  Рік тому

      That's a great question. Taxes are highly location specific, so unless you're in the USA, that book probably won't be very helpful for your situation.

      @@AnthonyVicino Anthony, you're truly remarkable. In a future video, perhaps you could explore the significant mindset obstacles hindering wealth accumulation. Napoleon Hill mentioned guilt as one of these blocks. Personally, I envisioned immense wealth but found myself grappling with feelings of shame and guilt. In response, I first affirmed that I deserved this wealth, then that I was worthy of it. However, these affirmations didn't entirely dispel my guilt until I declared that I am entitled to this abundance. I found this realization interesting; I think that the word "entitled" is more potent in its ability to obliterate guilt. It seemed to shift my perspective and eliminate my feelings of guilt. 🚀 And it made me ponder if there are other mental barriers I might be unaware of. Your videos are incredibly empowering, particularly to me, and I'm sincerely grateful for the positive impact they've had. Thank you for your valuable content. Much respect and blessings to you. 🙏

    Amazing recommendations. Thank you!
    Would be very helpful if you made a video on what method you use to read a book and get most from it. Do you make notes? Read it multiple times? What if you start losing concentration or are too tired?
    I think reading a book the proper way is one of the most important skills a person can develop, if not the most important one. Absorbing the knowledge from a book, adding it to the mental model (or being open minded enough to allow it to challenge your mental model), getting back to it (reading the notes made while reading it?), is what changes habits, and thus makes a person better.
    So yes... A video on what's your method on reading books would be very helpful :)

    I found Mindset quite a hard read. You learn early on what growth mindset is, and then it's in some ways just 300 pages of driving that idea home... I didn't make it all that far to be honest, but it's juice was in many ways summarised completely by your summary. Grit was another hard one. David C Baker passed on a great tip for reading powerful books.
    Read the Introduction up to chapter one, then read the conclusion or last chapter. 9/10 you'll get everything from the book in just that simple method.
    Then afterwards, you're free to read the book in it's entirety. If you like what you've just read from it, then you read the whole thing and get to enjoy the whole thing and make more mental connections.

    • @AnthonyVicino
      @AnthonyVicino  Рік тому

      That's a totally fair point about Mindset and Grit. Both probably didn't warrant a full book given how they unpacked the concept.

    • @futurevision5357
      @futurevision5357 11 місяців тому

      Here's another way to think about it. The main importance of the books is to internalise the lessons, for them to actually make a difference in our lives.
      It may vary from person to person, but I think a 300 page book where the majority of time is spent driving the point home will be enough time spent to get it into your head.
      The more it gets into your head, the more your thoughts change. Which means the more your feelings change. Which mean the more your actions change.
      Idk, just my 2 cents.
