So nostalgic. I really miss the first few months of playing through Path of Fire and figuring everything out with the community. This soundtrack elevated the experience! What wonderful work from these composers.
For me Path of Fire, together with the follow-up Living World 4 (Kralkatorrik) was the best era of GW2 by a long shot. Going to make a new character and play through it all over again. :)
When the expansion just dropped and I arrived in Desert Highlands and was near the area that had these white mountains in the distance and I just got my springer this track 44:53 played and I was completely petrified by the view and this track. It made the moment so perfect and unforgettable. I still remember it.
EoD makes me miss this expansion so much, this was Guild Wars 2 at its height before the staff cuts hit hard, very hard. PoF should have been the bar EoD aimed for.
It encapsulates the grand and greatness of the primeval kings, and at the same time, the tragedy and despair at the end of their raign. It gives a strong feel of emptiness at the start, as when you walk through the remains of Fahranour (the lost first primeval capital) and see how lonely it is, nothing left but echos of the past. Then you start to see the big palace and the beautifull architectuer, stones stand tall that witnessed the rise and fall of a great dynasty. A long lost glory of the kings and queens who (at the last breath of their dynasty) doomed their kingdom I love it so much
New player (from the Steam era)! Have to say this was my favourite xpac out of all of them. They really created one of the best desert maps I have ever played. The music, the areas, the architecture and the flora and fauna... So beautiful
@@stefanoandrianopoulos9071 When it comes to the all in all aspects , sure , greatly done , many many details , so my guess seldomly we ´d get something better . Aw man, my favorite piece from PoF, and the entire game for that matter, isn't even here. I remember being so excited and happy when I got my raptor at the launch, seeing a race in Amnoon for the first time, the first day, everyone running to it because it was a new thing, the start began! As I rushed out in the big mob running out of the gates, the music that plays during the race filled me with such delight.. All the music in GW2 is amazing, but it's blended so well with the scenery, sometimes you don't even notice it (that's not a bad thing) That race music though, man, it made the experience unforgettable.
On the Banks of the Elon, damn i love the Harp and Flute parts, so much Fantasy style and Epic. My ears always focus this Soundtrack if it start playing ingame :)
Just finished the story of PoF. It was very pleasant to play this expansion. The landscape, the music is very immersive. The mounts are so enjoyable and a very good addition in term of gameplay, as the new elementalist specialization : the weaver. Just discovering it, I did PoF as tempest. And the fight against the final boss. So good to play, love the mechanics. Just got the griffon, it is sooo good to fly ! A really good expansion with a lot of things to do, if you're an achievement hunter like me.
Turns out the Path of Fire OST was done by the same guy who did soundtrack for Helldivers 2, I knew I've heard this orchestral drive somewhere else, oh so familiar
There's this one piece of music that's been killing me to try and find. Every now and then when I'm in the Crystal Oasis, a piece of music plays that I always remember the end of. I think it ends with the slow playing of a harp(?) while the brass plays in the background of it. That's the best way I can describe it, but I'm not entirely sure as to what all the instruments are.
Is it this? ua-cam.com/video/R_a1rQtyk5Q/v-deo.html If it's not that i can only recommend you listening to Nightfall soundtrack or Living World stuff on the Arenanet soundcloud. Hope you find it!
hmm, so there's a light-upbeat track that i hear a lot in the desert, usually when i'm on a mount i noticed, but i can't find it here or in Nightfall as people have suggest. anyone have an idea what i might be talking about?
If it's not here or Nightfall i recommend looking on the soundcloud soundcloud.com/arenanet. Could be something from living world or a combat BGM. A lot of the HoT music didnt make it onto the soundtrack but was put on the soundcloud and they might have done the same with PoF.
Am I daft or is this entire playlist missing one track I'd been looking for in forever. It sounded a bit like the part at 49:58 ish and it played around the PoF maps. It was an epic sounding track with haunting undertones but I just can't find it! And it's not in this playlist.
If its not on here, it can only be from the Nightfall soundtrack or maybe from Dry Top / Silverwastes BGM. I suggest listening through Nightfall first as they used a lot of tracks from there. Good luck :)
Probably because, compared to his work on Guild Wars 1, Guild Wars 2's compositions were much more generic. I blame this on the popularity of Skyrim, and the desire to do a similar set.
From what I remembered, when GW2 launched Jeremy Soule wasn't invited to it's launch for some reason, pissing him off severely to the point where he refuses to cooperate any further. Since then, the music has been composed in-house, though they have improved over time, and gotten better composers. JS's work is great, though much of GW2's music is essentially reused/refurbished GW1 music.
Nothing comes near to the Rata Novus theme. PoF Living story is great. But maps like Crystal desert, Vabbi and the others feel so empty. I dont get it why they didnt even add any Big event on those maps like with HoT
I guess the main focus of PoF was never really big meta events. More lore and story related stuff. Compared to HoT, PoF felt much more like telling a story of a place that suffered alot. The jungle had an empty lore, but really great meta events. And one other point ofc is that HoT was hella grindy. Sometimes too grindy.
@@cagataysuhan i felt the opposite, imo the HoT story is by far better, the egg, the story of the sylvari and mordremoth, and important characters killed off. i liked PoF too, but it felt less interesting
Crystal Oasis is from LW season 2, so it wouldn't be on this soundtrack. Any others you've heard in game are probably from Nightfall or Living World. This is the full official PoF soundtrack that you can buy.

Tomb of Primeval Kings... it's everything I love about Maclaine's music - the feels, the journey, such passion in every single note... masterpiece

Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns I own them both and love the game as much as the music so enchanting for a game that keeps on giving thank you.
one of the most relaxing mmos i have played. and the music and environments are amazing.
Just got into GW2, 6 years late but... what a jumping on point! Getting my ass kicked in the desert, and LOVING IT!

Best mmo on he market, no question.

Elona Reach, Destiny's Gorge, the op, Welcome to the Desert, Enter the fire God, minions of Kralkatorrik and End of War are some of my favorites.

GW2 OST are as awesome as the brilliant visual direction of this game
perfect to have on while I work on my joko fic.
I think Path of Fire has the best OST in the entire game. Even better than the stuff that Jeremy Soule made.
Princess Panthera, Lord of Nebo Terrance, and The Queen of All Cats
Lots of John Williams influence... love it!

Battle's musics are great, and the others fit to this new Arabic universe, but... I still prefer HoT intro than this PoF's one x)
For me it's by far the opposite.
I have the Nightfall theme on my character selection screen at the moment. It goes well with PoF!
