The Streets of Whiterun is my favorite track from Skyrim. It is so peaceful, and it brings me back to a simpler time. I love that it's in here four times.
Simpler times indeed… feels so long ago now that I’d come home from school to play Skyrim. Long summer nights just exploring skyrims wilderness endlessly. On my old 360 my character was level 119, and sadly her save file is borderline unplayable. I’ve prepared myself to let her go. The final save file will be either in lakeview manor sitting at the table, throat of the world with Parthy, or the border gate in falkreath hold. One of those… then back out and say goodbye
I tried learning guitar by myself just to play this masterpiece, it's my personal favorite of the game. From time to time I come to revisit Skyrim's soundtrack. Even to this day, very few games can make you feel what Skyrim does, a feeling of belonging to a place you never actually went to.
I got the special edition for 11$ and it was more than worth it. No game cheers me up like skyrim. It's so beautiful and calming. There's just something special about this game.
"what is it? Dragons?" "I used to be a young adventurer like you, till I took an arrow to the knee" "My father says I'm too young to train with a sword. So I practice with my fists!" "Disrespect the law you disrespect me." "Staying out of trouble kingsman?" "Everything's for sale my friend." "another man to lick my fathers boots." "ah! My favorite drinking buddy!" "You're... Dragon born???" "DOVA KEIN!!!!" "Need something?" "You've committed crimes against Skyrim and her people! What say you in your defense!"(I hear this one very often...) "wait... I know you!!" Boom... All from memory...
Skyrim soundtracks like these are making me heavily concentrated on my studies. I am so glad that there are people who compilate and post videos such as these, because without then maybe I wouldn't be studying for at least 40min straight without distractions. I'm really glad, so thanks to whoever posted such memorable pieces of music into one combined.
I can concentrate for all of 3 minutes before I start longing for the freedom of roaming a country side, no real destination, maybe the local meadery.....
I'm the exact same, no other soundtrack puts me in the zone more than this and the destiny OST, think its the comfortably of the familiar music and the legit quality of composure
Bro I cannot study at all and barely have any studying habits in place, but once I put on this music and I was able to study for 2 hours STRAIGHT with no breaks, it's crazy.
I played for the first time in 2015 when i was in 4th grade and no other game was able to capture the same feeling that Skyrim gave me playing it for the first time. Summer break was so much fun as a kid, having zero worries in the world just immersing myself in such a cool atmosphere and world.
We tend to forget how IMPORTANT a soundrack is, and how a certain ambience changes EVERYTHING.The ambiance is what gives goosebumps, it is what make you unconciously want to play again. I think it is the MOST important aspect of a videogame, considering how the original Skyrim is graphically a catastrophe, and how it is bugged all around.Nevertheless, it is one of these games I'm gonna keep forever in my heart and soul.
This is so true. I started the game from the beginning for the 6th time. It feels like the music just keeps calling me back. Without it, it would not be the same.
I sided with Stormcloaks in Civil War then they wanted me to attack to Whiterun. I... I just couldn't. It was heartbreaking to see it all burned. I went back to an old save and sided with Imperials, just so I can kick those rebel shits out of Whiterun. It is home. And I fancy the Jarl haha.
@@kubraozyrtWho wouldn't fancy him after he gives you a relatively mediocre enchanted axe for braving a deadly dungeon. That's the way to get to my heart lol.
King, I’ve been playing since launch. I grew up along side Skyrim. Now this ambient music accompanies my wife and I while we clean up after our daughter. Thanks for posting.
I finally did it - I've been listening to these mixes on repeat for the better part of a year while I'm working, and I've started a new playthrough. First time mage, excited to visit Skyrim once again. Much love for putting these mixes together.
Yes! I always take as much as dragon bones and leather i can get from the dragon i killed, and go to the Ratways to sell them to Tonilia. I get about 900 septims per 1 dragon
I was in college when Skyrim came out and spent countless hours playing it. I’m a lawyer now, but when I have time at the office i just listen to this music while I work, and it brings me back to a simpler time.
That’s crazy because the way I first started playing Skyrim was because of my dad and he was a lawyer and my guess is that he got into oblivion in college and luckily for me he became my dad and introduced me to Skyrim
I'm sure the first few case you had to handle was about somebody stealing someone else's cake or about defending someone who had killed a chicken and had been beaten by the police as a result of the 100 septim bounty on their head
Yeah, that one's my favorite too. Most people like Streets of Whiterun the best, and it's my second favorite, but Ancient Stones is by far the best in my opinion.
@@clarajaymorse3487 I like Streets of Whiterun, but not as much as most do. My second favourites would be Far Horizons and perhaps Secunda. But I think everyone can agree that all the soundtracks are great
Same, I was exploring a pretty much vacant part of the map earlier in the year. I always play Skyrim in winter. It's a holiday game for me. And I found a fallen down tower up behind the hill north of Markarth. Was a small fallen down cabin on the cliff side with some petty bandits inside as well. Clams spawn in the water down below. Lots of em. I thought it was quite the spot. I wish I could mod the game so that I could turn some of these hidden gems of spots into player homes.
Step 1: Play this music. Step 2: Start working. Step 3: Stop working and start playing Skyrim instead. Step 4: Start working in Skyrim by chopping wood and selling it to Hod, the Riverwood lumberjack with a mustache. Step 5: ??? Step 6: Profit.
I know all you're doing is showing Skyrim scenes over the music, but it's fantastic. I can't tell you how many times I've walked through the game just enjoying the environment and the music. I'd actually wait days just finding vantage points to admire the view in this game. I have no idea how anyone can truly think this game is bad in anyway.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for making this, I suffer from high anxiety and I'm used to playing games to calm me down, but when it's three in the morning you can't do that without waking the entire world up. A thing to consider: this game provokes a devastating surge of nostalgia in those that played it. It makes us think of times past, memories bygone. We didn't just love this game, the developers did too. I daresay someone here will, one day, be inspired enough to create masterpieces that will bring whole new generations the same wonder that we were lucky to experience. It is the curse of all to move on, and it is their duty to leave something behind. Everyone that worked on this game was you once, and felt the same sense of longing as we do now. What did they do? They made this beautiful masterpiece. No one that made this game could experience it as we did. Never forget that.
I love how the guard at 23:26 totally NPCs into the wall but still tries to play it off. In all seriousness though, I've fallen in love with these Skyrim ambience compilations. They're perfect for work, writing, background music, etc., and the moving imagery is a fantastic touch. I remember in the comment section of another of your videos, Everness, you said that it took a very long time to find places that were picturesque enough, but every minute of searching has definitely paid off. The dynamic backgrounds give these videos a level of personality that blows still-image OSTs out of the water, to the point where I find myself staring a lot longer than I intended.
I completely agree. These scenes are so amazing, and even little things like someone hammering at a workbench or anvil in the background really help. I actually find myself close to tears because of the nostalgia. I never noticed that guard before 😂
Still the best game since 2011. Skyrim SE made it even more beautiful! I still remember downloading this game during college and I fell in love with the music. 10 Years later and I am still in love with it! Dont we all wish we lived in Skyrim? Minus the murders, dragons, thieves, shape changers, magicka, large insects, skooma and Miraak.
You should consider making a blooper reel - I think it'd be really entertaining to watch glitches or random attacks going on in such gorgeous sceneries.
+Declan Hogg Nope. Skyrim special edition, plus wider field of view, plus certain time of day, plus regular shot composition. And a sprinkle of contrast and/or very light color grading to offset the compression. The whole point is to show the game exactly the way it is. Same for WoW.
Coffee just finished brewing, it's raining outside and I'm tired. I'm in my last year of university. I wouldn't be here today without your channel, @Everness. To all of you out there grinding away, be it studies, work or life in general, don't stop. That is, afterall, what we adventurers do. We keep going!
It is something we do so seldom in real life. So many obligations, fears and pressure from our surroundings that it's hard to appreciate the quiet beauty of the places we visit each day.
I live a little ways east of the Rocky Mountains. Out here, we get some of the most incredible sunsets and sunrises. Where I live, I have an incredible view of the mountains, and the land itself is beautiful during the fall. Listening to this music while sitting outside and watching nature is just the best.
I'm here investigating the theft of a sweet roll, and my cousin's out fighting dragons. That said, I'm not an adventurer anymore. I used to be, but, well, you can guess what happened... ... No lollygaggin'.
anyone else listen to this while going on a walk on a gorgeous day, whether that be through town or on a trail? it really makes everything feel magical
Omg you just hit me with that hardcore nostalgia. I hear this clear as day in my head, his exact tone and everything. And everytime I would hope he'd have something else to say but it would just be 'nope, that's it. Got to go.'
Ancient Stones is my favorite & it's easily the most nostalgic one for me. It reminds me so much of my first home in the game being Proudspire Manor in Solitude. I really wish that I could just recede from real life at times & just live there. I loved sitting on the back porch on the table behind the house & looking out towards the sea. Jeremy Soule did a fantastic job with the compositions in this game. It's absolutely relaxing.
Oct 2022 and here I am. Watching scenes and remembering those nights. Winter was in full swing, the windows in the loft cracked to let the cold air in. Wrapped up in blankets, and my character stomping across the snow filled landscapes. The Adventures of fighting old dead kings, and dragons coming to life as I wrap up in my warm blankets tighter to keep warm. My best adventure to date. Thank you Skyrim.
So, you wanna deal with Dragons, an imperial/stormcloak war, unjust guards, forsworn attacks on Markarth near daily, your High King being impaled by Ulfric's blade? Really? I question you.
@Marcus Burket the real world already has plenty of A hole guards and retarded people, rarely with views this pretty though, so no, i would hypothetically live in this game over reality.
"Destruction magic's fine, just don't go burning down any buildings." Playing Skyrim a second time for almost a year (yeeeears after I bought it), and this still makes me go LOL.
The nostalgia. The slight noises of hammering and I know exactly where it’s coming from. I recognize the people in the distance just by their clothes. God I love this game.
Skyrim…..a world that I keep coming back to even if I’ve played it for 10 years now I still keep finding new things in it and just playing it brings me back so many good memories in and outside of the game I hope that one day my kids (if I have them) and I can bond over games and I’d love to see them play Skyrim just so I can see their eyes lit up from it’s beauty like I did show them my characters and show them fun secrets and stuff This game is like a second home to me and hell this community seems so much more wholesome than I ever thought I’ve watched a lot of these kinds of videos and read the comments of people loving this game and bonding over it Brings me to tears of happiness that we all can just enjoy this world when our real one gets tough we’re all Dragonborn no matter what we’re always connected through the world that is Skyrim Till we meet again my brothers and sisters and to my kid if you ever see this comment I hope doing well my little Dragonborn
Popped up in my recommended. Geez, it’s been forever since I heard music from here. What was always mind blowing to me when I played Skyrim was a lot of the architecture, weapons, and even how NPC’s talked was very spot on. Keep in mind; Skyrim is a fantasy game, but a lot of how the NPC’s lived, worked, and guards stationed in this game happened. It’s very prime example of humanities ventures in the Iron Age. You can walk around, explore, take so many different paths and roads in life all whenever you wanted to. Life was simpler. Humanity was simpler. Instead of technology everyone lived a life of interactions in person. There is something beautiful to me in that way of living. To be truly free to forge your own path whenever you wanted.

"Ancient Stones" always makes me cry. How is humanly possible to create such a masterpiece?
I tried learning guitar by myself just to play this masterpiece, it's my personal favorite of the game. From time to time I come to revisit Skyrim's soundtrack. Even to this day, very few games can make you feel what Skyrim does, a feeling of belonging to a place you never actually went to.
I bought this game on 11. Nov. 2011.... And I STILL PLAY THIS GAME! Since 7 Years... This game was worth every single penny

2013 summer, I play Skyrim as a 5th grade
Beautiful peaceful carefree times when everything was perfect
I played for the first time in 2015 when i was in 4th grade and no other game was able to capture the same feeling that Skyrim gave me playing it for the first time. Summer break was so much fun as a kid, having zero worries in the world just immersing myself in such a cool atmosphere and world.
We tend to forget how IMPORTANT a soundrack is, and how a certain ambience changes EVERYTHING.The ambiance is what gives goosebumps, it is what make you unconciously want to play again. I think it is the MOST important aspect of a videogame, considering how the original Skyrim is graphically a catastrophe, and how it is bugged all around.Nevertheless, it is one of these games I'm gonna keep forever in my heart and soul.
just saying doing bleak falls barrow without any ambient music is much creepier
So true. It's one of the reasons I don't truly enjoy JRPGs. Can you imagine entering Whiterun to the sound of a cheesy 80s guitar solo? Blasphemous.
This is so true. I started the game from the beginning for the 6th time. It feels like the music just keeps calling me back. Without it, it would not be the same.
Wait is the remastered special edition not nearly as unplayable?
I thought the graphics did quite well despite the obvious glitches than can occur. Getting lighting right helps more than high res stuff etc ;p
Whiterun is just, just 👌

I sided with Stormcloaks in Civil War then they wanted me to attack to Whiterun. I... I just couldn't. It was heartbreaking to see it all burned. I went back to an old save and sided with Imperials, just so I can kick those rebel shits out of Whiterun. It is home. And I fancy the Jarl haha.

+Nichimoon Yes, a couple of times. Bugs were much more prevalent however.
You should consider making a blooper reel - I think it'd be really entertaining to watch glitches or random attacks going on in such gorgeous sceneries.
Everness do you use any mods to make your scenes look so fantastic?
+Declan Hogg Nope. Skyrim special edition, plus wider field of view, plus certain time of day, plus regular shot composition. And a sprinkle of contrast and/or very light color grading to offset the compression. The whole point is to show the game exactly the way it is. Same for WoW.
