Hv had this watch for 2 yrs & hv always loved that awesome dial. Recently i upgraded the sapphire crystal to a dual AR one & now the dial is even more mesmerising & dynamic than before. Also regulated the movt & now it runs within COSC easily. This watch & the turtle STO are both staying permanently in my collection.
Have this same watch for 2 months now. The crown was grainy to start with, but the more it's used, the better it feels.. the crown in this model is exactly fitted compared to older models which had little longer stem, which popped out.. no pop with this one👌 a class watch.. great review buddy.. great job👍
I am late to the party and just found this watch. I am in love with this dial and ceramic bezel. Show me a better dial on a sports watch at this price point. I just ordered one now!
It was so nice to see Seiko upgrade this watch to a ceramic bezel and a sapphire crystal. The dial is also unreal. Wait till you see it in person, it is even better than in pictures.
I like it. I tried it on. The bracelet was a bit tight for me. The face is attractive although if Alex didn't tell me there were manta rays on there I'm sure I wouldn't have know unless researching it. I also like the contrast between the blue dial and the black ceramic bezel. I have the SRPC93 Save the Ocean version and the SRP777 Turtle re-issue. They're nice but not as nice as my Steinhart Ocean One with the ceramic bezel.
I have tiny wrists :P The Save the Ocean dials are really fun, the SRPC93 looks beautiful. I definitely agree the Steinhart is a nicer watch, but I have a soft spot for Seiko (even though Alex tells me they aren't Valuetown or Happy Halloween).
Thanks for review! I want an automatic diver and this is very attractive. Very good that Seiko does not make the lug to lug distance very long as some other brands. There are a number of watches I would like but I pass just because of too long lug to lug.
@@JustWatches1 I have a question: is the cyclop glued on the crystal? If so, what does it consist of? I wonder about the risk for scratches on it, if it protrudes above the bezel edge it's in a bit vulnerable position.
The listing that accompanies your video says the watch has a mineral crystal, but this watch is said to and you also confirmed this in the review of the watch in this video that it has and should have a sapphire crystal. So which is it I REALLY would like to add this watch to my collection but dont want a knock-off or lesser quality crystal..... help would be much appricated asap
I have one Seiko srpd21k1 turtle save ocean 4r36 movment. - 1 second per day!!!I leave it out of the night with the wrist facing upwards, and in the morning I have 0 seconds measured in Time.is. I was lucky, I think. Great movment !! 🐢🦈🦈
Bought one of these when it first came out. Fell in 💙with the dial and overall package but for whatever reason it stays in the box. Maybe just too nice and don’t want to mess it up I guess?? Anyways thanks for the review enjoyed your video.
Great question! The Orient Kamasu has sapphire but not a ceramic bezel but is excellent and is a bit less. I don’t know if Long Island Watch still makes the ISL-66, but that is their “samurai” and is a good option for about the same price. For a bit more, check out the Certina DS Diver. Comes in a larger and smaller size. Really impressive and Swiss if that matters to you at all. Happy Hunting :)
@@JustWatches1 i was originally gonna get a 62mas homage called hitori ryukyu but i think i made the right choice. gonna sell my steinhulk and maybe get the hitori too
@@JustWatches1 well i love the manta, its awesome and whats more is that i got the strapcode hex head with the polished center links coming in on friday. Yeah i may still get that hitori cause ill be selling my steinhulk 39mm
I'll keep the Mark1 and eventually I will pop in Sapphire. After 4 years the Hardlex is still without any blemishes. I don't really like the Cyclops and the black insert. Prefer my waleskin version.
That is the same size as my wrist. It comes down to personal preference, but I think I can pull it off. Check my wrist shot in the video it will look very similar on your wrist!
@@juniorjohnson5961 I haven't had that one, but I would guess it would indeed be similar. Can you measure the Lug to Lug on that one and let me know what it is?
Mine gains 30 seconds per day. Qhay kind of quality control is that??? For a watch this expensive I expected more quality control. My Casio Oceanus T200 is solar, satellite, pwrpetual calendar, super lume, always exact ro within 1/1000 of a second and is slightly more beautiful. Oh, it also has a button to buzz my phone if I lose it.

Did you keep the cyclops?

Thanks for reporting in on the crown over time. I have noticed it feels a bit less grainy on mine as well. Glad you enjoyed the review :)
My King Turtle Save the Ocean was the same, initially rough, but now very smooth.
I am wearing one right now . The more I wear it , the more I like it .
This is such a perfect watch. I sold it and I miss it :P
Just bought it and love it already, thank you.
Fantastic. I’m glad you are enjoying it - it’s a terrific watch.
In fact just changed the strap to silicone and it looks even nicer imo.

Sieko is the best watch I ever owned , reliable and sustainable
Yes, I love the brand!
I think the green lume is reminiscent of the bio-luminescence of many deep-sea creatures, they nailed it.
Fair enough :)
FINALLY! Seiko offering value for money again.
Agree, this is a nice release to see, especially with some many of their new offerings landing in the $1k price range.
now price is 600$, this watch is so beautiful, one from the top best diver under 1000$. Dial is masterpiece.
The really, really nailed this one. I should have held on to mine, oops :(

Most welcome. I have wanted one since the Seiko 2020 catalog came out last year. Can't wait for the 2021 catalog!
Agreed, the dial is incredible.
Love the King Samurai!
Your voice sounds like Nachos' voice from Better Call Saul. Subbed, lol. This is hopefully my next watch.
That is hilarious! I loved breaking bad, but I haven't finished Better Call Saul, now I need to :P

Yes, that is part of the Seiko case magic - short lug to lug. I wish more brands would follow suit!

Definitely sapphire. If you look it up SRPE33 on the Seiko website, it lists it as sapphire :)
Nice video, helps alot deciding if I should buy one or not!

Don't be afraid to wear it - watches are made to be worn :)
Thanks for the great video. I think I'm going to go for this. Jomashop has it for $489.00 US. Do ya think that's a pretty good price?
I have seen them dip before $400 on sale if you hunt around!
@@JustWatches1 I think I'll hunt around a little. Thanks much
prices did not settle down ... it's 800 dollars now in some places ..
If you don't mind used, I see them pop up for around $300
Can you suggest the best 3 competitive models from other brands? By the way great video

What bracelet is on the picture in the beginning? Ty
Uncle Seiko beads of rice if I’m not wrong. It’s what baited me into this video.
You are correct, sorry to bait you! :(
Uncle Seiko Beads of Rice :)
Was that a different bracelet in your opening shot?
You have a very keen eye. In the picture for the video it is on a Uncle Seiko beads of rice bracelet.

BTW, it's pronounced "fu-may" rather than like the English fume with a silent e.

Seiko QC on movement accuracy is almost non existent sadly.
It’s not a King Samurai.
Do they not call this one a King Samurai? I just referred to it as a King version since it has the sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel.
Yes it is
The Cyclops ruins it for me :(
Yes, I know they are very divisive. It is interesting that Seiko is using them on many of their new offerings.
I need the Cyclops...can't see small digits when you get older.
Oh whah whah
