Your truck looks great. I had my GX blacked out as well. The shop said they would not paint the trim as it often chips. I went with more of a matte/satin black vinyl and have been happy for nearly a year. Thanks for taking the time to share our story and staying classy. My truck is black and it is in dire need of paint correction too.

Plastidip would have done a better job of sticking to chrome and also not chipping away since its rubberized coating. If sprayed correctly the dip will have a satin finish to it, which then could be topped with ceramic spray to seal in the dip. I have done to a few vehicles of mine and it looks OEM.
I would recommend vinyl wrap instead of paint. Majority overlanding GX460s are vinyl wrap cause of those cons. Last a long time and if it starts to look bad, you can remove and redo again.
I know nothing about paint. I had a bad rock chipped on the upper chromed plate trim of my GX front grille. From what I have tried to do the paint won’t stick on the chromed plate trim. Although it said the paint I bought is mirror shine and works on chrome. I have tried everything but it didn’t last long. I heard about plastic dip and will check it out if it’s the best solution for cosmetic look. I’m like you hate to see it every time looking at it.
That's because you need to delete chrome before you actually paint the parts. Paint just won't stick if it's applied over chrome. I did the black out on my Toyota Highlander by myself and deleted the chrome from plastic parts using ferric chloride and water acid. The paint on your elements will peel off completely pretty quickly, the job is done as poorly as possible. Also, there are parts like door handles or window top-side mouldings, which are easier to cover with vinyl wrap, as I did on my car.
Looks great. Is there a reason you just didn't plasti-dip everything? On all my cars, trucks and my kid's cars I used Plasti-Dip with glossifier. Stands up to car washes, etc for years. in fact I've not had a Plasti-dip failure yet
If it hasn't been said, going gloss black from chrome is your biggest mistake. You go matte or slight satin for the modern/tougher look and contrast with body paint. You would've been better off paying some kid to plastidip it all.
Although I am not a fan of chrome myself, I will probably never do a chrome delete if it’s not done by the original factory. All 3rd party chrome delete look awful to me, and make the car looking cheap, especially after a while. I have yet to find a good place that actually worth the hassle.
This was a couple of years ago at this point, and they didn't do a great job, since they painted over the chrome instead of wrapping it or stripping then painting, but it cost about $500.

Thank you Sir, I appreciate you watching! Unless it became $10-$15 a gallon, I probably wouldn't. GX's are just such a reliable long-term car, I want it to be a keeper so that I can afford a fun second car. I hope to be making more videos soon, but my life became so busy with a new baby and a full time job that I haven't had time for UA-cam!
Yeah, I can't be one of those people that trashes a company's reputation online. A troll, a Karen, a Chad, whatever label works haha! They are still good people that probably are still figuring out their best methods of practice and might have rushed this job.

I'm not implying you trash the company, but it would be nice to warn others in your area not to go to a place that so obviously don't have any pride in their work. Do people not know how to prep surface for paint? What in the f is wrong with all of these professionals? Time and effort isn't an excuse either. Honestly they should've just gone with a wrap anyway since they can't paint. Snap the pieces off, wrap em et voila.

Probably so, I haven't actually looked into doing.
